Chapter 130: Chapter 130

(Kendra’s Thoughts)

Avery finally got discharged from the hospital and for the meantime I invite them over to stay in my apartment instead of wasting all their money paying for a hotel room. I have two more sparerooms in my apartment so I guess it is fine.

Kervin is still here, so they will look after him while I go out with Nik and enjoy our anniversary.

I am about to finish dolling up when A enters my room.

“Hey there, gorgeous,” she says while leaning on the side of the door. I am currently wearing my earrings when my side zipper comes undone.

So she goes to me and says, “Here, I got this,” she says and helps me out.

I can’t stop smiling. I am just happy to know she’s here. I am happy we get to do this again.

I hear the zip sound finishes, “Okay, you are good to go, sexy K. Are you going to bring the house down tonight with your fiery red velvet bodycon dress?” she pokes my side.

“Oh god, no. We will just eat and then go home since that bitchy wife already knew our anniversary, she deliberately gave him daddy-tasks beforehand. So we only have a short period of dinner time,” I sigh and couldn’t even hide the disappointment in my face.

Her face looks down, “I’m sorry about that, K.”

“No worries, I am the beloved one, so I am still happy,” I confidently say.

Before our conversation ends, the doorbell rings, “Oops, just in time!” I say.

Then I ask Avery to go out of my room with me, and then talk to Kervin, “Be good, baby boy. Don’t make Uncle Jeff and Aunt Pretty made at you, okay? Or else they will leave as early as tomorrow.”

And just like a shoulder, my baby boy Kervin answers, “Ma’am, yes, Ma’am. Goodbye, and I hope you have a great time. By the way, at least you look pretty, tonight. Just tonight,” he even teases.

So I gently hit his forehead, “Whatever! Goodbye!”

While Nik and I are in the car, he opens up a conversation with me, but first of, he gives me a huge compliment.

He holds my hand, kisses the back of it and says, “You look so lovely tonight. But I like it better when that dress is off,” he grins then he runs his fingers on my left thigh.

I blush and poke him, “Stop it, love, and focus in driving, okay?” I divert his attention.

But his pervy naughty personality surges tonight, “Are you sure you are hungry? Why don’t we go to a hotel instead and then let’s order some food there, and indulge ourselves with each other…”

Then he squeezes my thigh and slides my skirt up. So I hit his hand, “Stop it, Nik, or I won’t let you go home after dinner,” then I glare at him, and faces his eyes on the road.

“Okay, okay, I give up. But can I claim it some other time, love. It’s been a while since I dig–” and before he could evne finish, I hit him real hard on his arm.

“Ahh, that hurts, love,” he complains. “We are the only one here in this car, why are you being so shy?”

I roll my eyes at him, “I am not being shy. I am not comfortable talking about those stuff and you know it,” I cross my arms and look away.

“I know, I am sorry. It won’t happen again. But seriously, I want to go on a vacation with you. Maybe even for a few days or a week,” he suggests.

Then one thing pops my mind, “Avery and Jeff’s Asian tour,” so I take this opportunity to tell him about it.

“Then, how about this, Jeff and Avery are planning to go to Jeff’s homecountry, or if not, near it, so she can meet his family. And we are actually invited to go there. Shall we?” I excitedly announce the good news.

But he sudden’y becomes quiet and his face says it all, “Why? Is it about your wife?” my voice has some disappointed tone.

“No! No! What I’m thinking about is whether Avery is okay to see me or not?” he explains. So my heart calms down a little.

“Don’t worry, she says you have nothing to do with that stupid jackass!” I proclaim angrily and he laughs aloud.

“You really hate him, do you?” he then confirms.

“Hate him to the bones,” I say and then leans back and inclined my chair, “Lemme know once we are at the restaurant, love. I need a short nap. Love you.”

“Alright, love. And I love you, too,” he sweetly utters, and the corner of my lips curls up.

We are now sitting in one of the most expensive fine-dine restaurants here in New York. It is a bit of a long-drive yes, but we need to go to a place where it is less likely to encounter an acquaintance, “Welcome to the mistress’s world, bitches,” I say to myself.

I observe the interior of a restaurant, and as the name of the place go, ‘Palazzo dei Venti’, it looks like a palace inside and out.

One recognizable thing is the dome-like high ceiling where you can clearly see the view of the night sky, a dinner under the stars feels-like.

When I look at Nik, his lips are smiling at me, and his eyes are continuously tracing every inch of my face, so I ask him, “Did you see a goddess fell in front of you?”

He chuckles, “You can’t be a goddess, love, you are much of a sinner for capturing my heart,” then he smirks and kisses the back of my hand again.

Since we entered this place, he never lets go of my hand, and he keeps on staring at me. And I somehow feel great, “So, how did you come up with this place? It is so beautiful here, love. Thank you,” I heartwarmingly appreciate his effort.

“Anything for you, love. Happy Anniversary!” says he.

I smile and greet him back, “Happy Anniversary my one true love.”

Our dinner and talk end up so well. But before going back home, I excuse myself so I can fix myself a bit in a bathroom. So I walk and pass by lots of table, and when I reach the hallway I walk to the left.

But as soon as my body turns, I bump into something hard and tall, and suddenly feel a cold sensation dripping on my neck down to my breasts so I shockingly yell, “Mother of grace, what the fuck!”

Then I hear a high-pitch feminine voice apologizing “Oh my god, dear, I am so so sorry,” the voice says. I am too busy wiping myself up so I couldn’t take a look at her face, but at least I hear her talk to someone.

“Darling, could you pass me my hanky over there? I need to help her wipe,” the voice says in a sweet manner and then presses the cloth onto my breast.

So I immediately withdraw and step back, “I can do it myself,” I snobbishly exclaim, and begin to wipe.

Then the voice starts with a friendly chat, “That’s very stupid of me, sorry, I ruin your beautiful dress. By the way, you rock that red velvet bodycon. It suits your face and your body type, too,” he declares like a fashion guru. I smile a bit.

But when I look up, a sour feeling gathers around the corner of my lips and my face couldn’t help but darken because of what I see, or should I say, who I see.

“You!” then I point at him with glaring eyes. His face is very much familiar but the voice, and his manners and gestures are way different.

Now, I am a bit confused.

“You, son of a bitch!” I couldn’t help but curse whenever I remember the things he had done to my best friend.

But this guy in front of me, isn’t any closer to that masculine figure of Dmitri, this one is much softer than I am.

Then he raises his feminine voice at me, “Akk, excuse me? Watch your word lady, I already said sorry to you!” then he crosses his arms at me and begins to yap more.

I see a taller man beside him calming him down, “Darling, people are looking at us. Remember this is his turf, we need to be careful,” then Dmitri clings to his arms like a child.

I couldn’t help but smirk and scoff at the same time, “What tricks are you playing this time, Dmitri?”

My mind is confused of what I am seeing right now. Dmitri calls a man darling? And now acting like a bitchy gilrfriend? What the fuck! Is this what Avery saw? A secret that’s not to tell? How are you protecting this selfish double-faced man, Avery?

My mind is retaliating when I see him widen his eyes as I mention the name Dmitri!

But what shocked me is the next thing he said, “You know Dee? Oh my goodness!” then he almost jumps of his feet feeling disappointed.

“Huh! Stop pretending, will you? What did Avery ever do to you to hurt her like that? And don’t act as if you don’t know me, dickhead!” I yell.

And then he answers back, “Sorry to disappoint you but I don’t know a bitch like you.”

People begin staring at us, so the staff come to pacify the situation. Later on, I hear a footstep from behind. Two big hands hold me and pass to my side. And I know this back, Nik is coming to my rescue.

He removes his coat and cover my wet body with it.

“I believe that’s not a way to talk to a lady, bro. Let alone, Kendra. I think you should start choosing your words carefully, Dmitri!” says Nik. His voice is calm yet firm and cold.

“Oh, I know you, Nikolai Murrow, Heather Sullivan’s husband. My bitchy sister’s husband,” but Dmitri wouldn’t stop running his mouth.

“Stop it, Dmitri! Where are you getting at? Stop this act!” Nikolai begins to lose his patience as his fist clenches.

“Oh, now I get it. So that gorgeous but a bit bitchy woman over there is supposed to be Kendra, your mistress? Am I right?” he even laughs at Nikolai.

“Did I get the memorization, right, Darling?” he even asks the man who’s been trying to calm him down.

“That’s enough, DeAndre, darling, let’s go home, you are drunk!” counters the man holding him.

DeAndre? I heard his name before. From Art. What the fuck?! Is Dmitri really gay? I’ll be damn.

But it is too late because the situation escalates now, “Say it again, Dmitri. I dare you say that one more time!” Nikolai is angry now.

“Which one? That you have a wife or that woman over there is your mistress?” the one that has Dmitri’s face but being called DeAndre utters mockingly.

Then a punch is thrown in his face and he falls to the ground. Nik punches him. But the tall man suddenly goes in front of Nik and grabs him by his collar.

“Oh my god, Nik!” I shout as my heart pounds.

“Luke, stop!” then a voice from behind, this time a very familiar voice is heard.

The tall man named Luke’s vision passes through me, “But he punches DeAndre. He was the one you should call out not me!” he announces pissed, not letting go of Nik’s collar.

Then a slight touch on my shoulder and a breathy apology is enough to get hold of the situation, “I am sorry, Kendra. Let me fix this,” is all he says.
