Corpses and blood can be seen everywhere. Cassandra looked around and knelt on the ground. They were outnumbered, and the enemies are much more substantial. Death is ruthless. Her eyes searched for Sebastian and saw him lying on the ground, not breathing. She rushed to his side while crying; her hands were trembling. She couldn't touch Sebastian because she doesn't want to know the truth.

She saw a dagger plunged deep into his heart.

"Blood, hey, wake up!" Cassandra said while stuttering. With her trembling hands, she slowly touched his face. Her heart broke. She kept shaking his body, but he won't open his eyes.

"You need to think, Cassy! Think of a way for Sebastian to open his eyes!" Cassandra whispered. She looked around and saw Lisanna. She glanced at Sebastian once more before running to where Lisanna is.

"Lis! I need you to check Blood!" Cassandra said while panting heavily. She didn't wait for Lisanna's response and dragged her back to where Sebastian's body lay. Cassandra sat and put Sebastian's head on her lap; she smiled at Lisanna and saw her checked Sebastian.

Lisanna wiped a stray tear on her face and shook her head.

"Lis, what are you sitting there idly? You need to help Blood right now," Cassandra said while her tears streamed down her face. Lisanna held her hand and shook her head once again.

"No, no, no! This can't be true! Hey, Blood! Wake up! I need you to fucking wake up!" Cassandra shouted while harshly shaking his body. She loudly wept while hugging his body. Lisanna rushed to her side and comforted her. Cassandra slowly stood up, removing Lisanna's hands from her. She walked towards the ghoul that snarled. Cassandra transformed into her wolf form and attacked it. She didn't stop until the ghoul was dead. She howled in pain, pain for she lost her mate and pain for her comrades' deaths. Cassandra glanced at where Sebastian is and whimpered. She fell to the ground while coughing blood. Cassandra saw the arrow pierced her heart.

Cassandra gasped as she opened her eyes. She hurriedly got up on the bed and went to the bathroom. She saw her face in the mirror; she was sweating bullets, and her eyes were swollen because of crying. Cassandra turned the faucet on and washed her face. She was panting heavily went she went out of the bathroom and sat on the edge of the bed.

It was a hell of a nightmare. To Cassandra, it felt so real, like it would happen any day from now on. She breathed deeply, sensing something was not right. She wanted to shake the ominous feeling off of her. Cassandra glanced at her drawer and remembered Helena's journal inside.

She opened it and took the diary out.

I don't know what's happening inside the palace anymore. There are too many missing helpers, and all of them were girls. Her Majesty seldom going out of her room; even His Majesty, King Uriel, is worried about her.

There's one thing coming to my mind. I know the mysterious man was the root of all that's happening in the palace.

The palace is in total chaos. Someone took Her Majesty, Queen Hildegarde, and His Majesty, King Uriel couldn't do anything about it. They said it's the enemies that took her, but they're wrong. I knew that man grabbed her. I can feel it.

It's been weeks since Queen Hildegarde was last seen in the palace. Everyone was anxious, and King Uriel never left his room. I was walking in the middle of the night at the back of the castle when a crow landed on the tree near me.

Suddenly, I saw images; it was Queen Hildegarde and his abductor in the room. Her hands and feet were tied, and she seemed weak. The man sneered at her when she didn't speak. The man asked her a question once again, but I couldn't hear it. Queen Hildegarde glared at him. I clearly heard what she said.

"You will never own me! You will never win against them. Their bond and love are much stronger. You cannot defeat the prophecy! My rightful heir and the Moon Goddess' chosen one. When the right time comes and when the moon turns black, you will die A"

Cassandra's forehead creased. She turned the pages of the journal, but it was blank. She still doesn't know who is Helena was talking about. There's so much question running through her mind. Is the man Ikrur? Who are the heir and the chosen one? Neither of them has answers. Cassandra heard a knock that snapped her out of her thoughts. She quickly returned the journal back to her drawer. When she opened the door, Abegail went inside with a smile on her face.

"Cassy! I have good news for you," Abegail said and held her hand. "What is it?" Cassandra asked, confused.

"Sebastian revoked the engagement announcement they previously had. He confessed in the public that he's in love with you!" Abegail said and shrieked. Cassandra smiled.

"So, this is the time," Cassandra whispered. They both glanced when they heard something's hitting on the window. Her smile widened. She quickly went to the window and opened it.

Cassandra saw Sebastian smiling at her.

"Step back a little," Sebastian said. Cassandra followed her, and he climbed up on the window rail.

"Am I interrupting something?" Abegail asked and looked at them. Sebastian put his arms on Cassandra's shoulders and nodded his head. Cassandra laughed and whack his head.

"I'll go. Enjoy, lovebirds!" Abegail said and left the room while laughing. Cassandra looked at her and rolled her eyes. Sebastian and sat on the bed, pulling her with him.

"It's good to be back," Sebastian said and hugged her tight. "I really missed you, love," he added and kissed her on the forehead. Cassandra couldn't help but giggle.

"Me too, Blood. So, our act is over, huh?" Cassandra asked. Sebastian nodded his head.

"What a waste, I still wanted to act. I can feel that I will become a great actress," Cassandra jokingly said and chuckled. Sebastian glared at her, and she only did the peace sign. Even if it's an act, she was still hurt because of their strong mate pull or bond.

"Because you always want Storm to be by your side," Sebastian said, annoyed. Cassandra laughed and tucked her hair behind her ear. She cupped Sebastian's face and kissed him on the lips.

"I love you," Cassandra sincerely said with a smile. "I fucking love you more," Sebastian replied.

"So, what did you got from investigating the Council?" Cassandra asked. Sebastian looked at her and smiled. It seems like they had a lot of talks to do.
