Chapter 27: Chapter 27

Cassandra went out of her room with swollen eyes. Lisanna greeted her with a kiss on her both cheeks. She went into the kitchen and sat on the chair while Lisanna was following behind her.

"Are you feeling fine now, Cassy?" Lisanna asked. "You didn't eat the food we brought last night. I'm worried," she added. Cassandra forced a smile and nodded her head. Lisanna handed her a plate with food on it.

"I left the handouts outside your room yesterday night. Did you get it?" Lisanna asked. Cassandra nodded and continued eating her breakfast. When she was done, she went back inside to wash. She was the first one to go out of their dorm. Cassandra went to Academia and walked to the garden where there are no students around. She sat on the grassy ground under the tree to avoid the sunlight. She put her headphones on and closed her eyes.

When the song on the phone played, she couldn't listen to it because it reminded her of Sebastian. Every stanza has a meaning that made her heart ached. She removed the headphones and let out a sigh. Cassandra decides to skip the first subject for the day and went to Ice Cream Parlor; she ordered vanilla-flavored ice cream and sat on the shop's far side corner.

"Damn it," Cassandra cursed quietly under her breath. She cleared her things and went out of the shop. She was walking back to the dorm when she bumped into a man, and all of her things fell to the ground.

"I'm sorry, milady," the man said and help her get her things.

"No! I should be the one to apologize. I wasn't paying attention that's why I bumped into you. I'm really sorry," Cassandra said and smiled at him. The man smiled back, showing his pearly white teeth, and handed Cassandra's things back.

"No problem, milady. Just be careful," the man said. Cassandra raised her eyebrow because she noticed the weird way of his talking.

"Thank you and sorry," Cassandra said and walked away. When she turned back, she saw his fiendish smile that sent shivers down her spine. She thought something was wrong with the man, so she hurriedly walked away. Cassandra only breathed a sigh of relief when the man disappeared. She sat on the wooded bench, but the pictures on the board in front caught her attention.

Twenty-three students went missing in Academia. The pictures on the board belong to the missing victims. Cassandra walked towards it and pulled the poster. She couldn't help but gasped, seeing they were all girls. She put the poster on the bag and went to where the dorm is located.

When she got home, she waited for her friends. She was getting anxious each time passed and, at the same time, worried. When Cassandra heard the door being opened, she stood up.

Lisanna and Abegail entered while laughing.

"Girls! Thank goodness the both of you are safe!" Cassandra said and hugged her friends. "Whoa. Hey Cassy, are you alright?" Abegail asked but, regardless, hugged Cassandra back.

"Did you see something on the board about the twenty-three missing girls?" Cassandra asked, and they sat on the couch. Lisanna and Abegail nodded their heads.

"I need you guys to be alert at all times, okay?" Cassandra said. It's not even safe around the campus anymore.

"Don't worry about us, Cassy," Abegail said, but Cassandra felt restless. They were her friends here in Academia. She doesn't know what to do if something terrible were to happen to them.

"But promise me one thing, when you see someone suspicious punch him or her in the face," Cassandra said and smile.

"Roger that, Miss Cassy!" the girls both said at the same time and even saluted to Cassandra. She laughed and excused herself. She heads to her room and lay down. She heaved a sighed as she could feel tears pouring down in her eyes. She truly wished Sebastian was with her right now, hugging her tightly, whispering sweet words in her ears, and kissing her a good night kiss while calling her his queen. Cassandra wished to see her mate right now. But she knew Sebastian's not coming here because he already has Joana by his side. It was just her wishful thinking.
