CHAPTER 45: THE TRUTH BEHIND THE ACCIDENT

Elena was inside her color black car. She gets her cellphone that was inside the glove box of her car. Elena wanted to call someone. She dialed the number and immediately put the cellphone on her right ear.

“Hello,” the number she was calling answered. It was a voice of a woman.

“I was in the parking lot, as you instructed me. What now? Have you ever called his wife to see me? Did you tell her I was pregnant and Leonard was the father? Is she going to come here or maybe you're just fooling me and waiting for her for nothing? I’m a busy person! I don’t want my time to be wasted!” she said to the person she was talking to on the phone.

“Relax, my dear. Don’t worry, everything is in line with my plans, and she’s on her way there.” The person she was talking to on the other line answered. Then she immediately dropped the call.

She waited for Alyssa to arrive. About a few minutes later, she saw it walking anxiously. She was about to get out of the car when a car started running behind Alyssa.

Things were moving so fast that she couldn’t even get out of the car. She was stunned by what she saw. She could not have believed that she had witnessed this kind of incident.

She felt scared! She thought, what if it died? What will she do? It did not prepare her for such an event.

All she wants is to confront Leonard’s wife, which Elena thought is the one who snatched Leonard from her, but even though she is arrogant and a bad girl, she is not a criminal who killed people. Her conscience couldn’t handle that, and she can’t take it.

She was indeed furious, but not to where she would kill someone. Elena was looking at Alyssa from afar who was lying on the floor when she noticed it was still moving. She gets out of the car to check it. Elena approached her. She shuddered as she approached her.

“M-Miss, h-help m-me,” Alyssa said in a weak voice.

“W-wait, I-I’ll just call an ambulance, okay,” Elena said to Alyssa, and Alyssa nodded.

Elena was so anxious that her hand was shaking so much as she dialed the number of the ambulance. “Ring, ring, ring…!!!” the telephone rang.

“Please, please, please…, pick up, pick up, pick up…,” Elena uttered while waiting for the ambulance to answer, and then she bites her finger.

“911 What’s the emergency?” the man in the other line answered.

“Please help, a pregnant woman was hit by a car here in the Parking lot at the M hotel. Please hurry, she’s bleeding too much!!!” Elena said. Then she dropped the call.

She turns to Alyssa. “I’m sorry, but I have to leave now. I don’t want to be involved here. Don’t worry, the ambulance is coming! Don’t let go, don’t close your eyes, remember that. I’m so sorry.” Then she immediately left Alyssa and went back to the place where she parks her car.

When she was already inside her car, she didn’t leave yet. She makes sure that the ambulance comes and when the ambulance had come, that’s when she started the engine in her car and ran it. Elena was driving faster and faster. She seemed out of her mind while driving. What happens to her ex-boyfriend’s (Leonard) wife still lingers in her mind.

She saw an alley with no one passing by, so she thought of parking there first and when she was already in front of the alley, she stopped the engine of her car and hit the steering wheel out of annoyance she felt for herself. Elena did not stop beating it until she felt that her hand was hurting. She stopped and cried. She blames herself for the misfortune she has caused. “You’re so worthless Elena, you’re so stupid!!! You didn’t think right!!! Your dad is right, you don’t deserve to be recognized as a child by him!!! Boohoo, boohoo, boohoo…!!!” she said to herself furiously as she sobbed.

When she had poured out all her feeling towards herself, she first calms herself by taking a deep breath. Then she thinks about what she should do. When Leonard suddenly entered her mind. She knew to herself that even if she kept her mouth shut, Leonard will know everything, but she is afraid that he will blame her and hate her.

She knew Leonard was very closed-minded. “God, what will I do? How will I tell him the truth, but why should I be afraid to tell him the truth? I’m not the one who hit his wife but I’m still at fault because I’m the reason she came there and ran over by a car. Oh, God, I think I’m going to be insane!” she said to herself, simultaneously. She pulled her hair.

She went home first in her condo to bathe because her sweat and her tears reached into her clothes, so it was so wet. She started her car again and ran it.

After about a few minutes of driving, she finally returned to her condo. She hurried into the building and immediately took the elevator until she got to her condo unit. She immediately opened it and entered.

Elena immediately went into her room and took off her clothes, one by one. She went to her drawer and opened it. She got a new towel and went into the bathroom to take a shower.

Elena was already in the bathroom, naked. She grabbed the shower bulb and stopped for a moment. She was thinking about how to explain everything to Leonard so that he wouldn’t get angry.

She turned the shower bulb to open it and the water slowly flowed onto her head, down to her body. Carefully she touched her faced with her both hands and put on a facial wash in it. Then she rinses it. She took the liquid soap that was layered on a metal rack that was glued to the wall of her bathroom and applied it to her delicate body and when her whole body was covered with soap, she immediately rinses it off.

She finally finished taking a shower and immediately wrapped her naked body in a white towel. Then she carefully went out to the bathroom and immediately get dressed. She picked up her phone that she had placed earlier on her side table in the bedroom and sat on the bed. She set up her cellphone just right so she could see the screen and dialed Leonard’s number.
