CHAPTER 40: HE BROKE UP WITH HER

Leonard and his girlfriend have returned to her condo. She already had finished her checkup, and for God’s sake, the baby she was bearing was okay. Leonard himself opened the door of his girlfriend’s unit and escorted her inside.

She smiled at him as she walked inwards, holding his right arm. He smiled at her immensely, but the smile he returned to her was unreal. He was not in the mood to smile at her back, but it forced him to smile at it so that it would not get angry.

When they were inside the condo unit, Leonard made Elena sit on the sofa. Then he went to her kitchen to get a glass of water and gave it to her.

“Thanks, babe,” she said to him with a smile.

Leonard replied with a smile. Then he sat down next to her with his hands clasped between each other. Leonard looked Elena in the eye seriously and took a deep breath. “Elena,” he uttered her name in a low voice.

“Yes, babe, what is it? Why you’re so serious?” she responded to him, still smiling.

“Ahem.” Leonard cleared his throat.

“Um, can we talk?” he asked her, still looking at her in the eye.

“Okay, what is it? Tell me,” she responded.

Leonard holds both his girlfriend’s hands first, which rest on her legs before he continued. “Let’s finish this kind of relationship, Elena. I can’t take it anymore.”

“What are you talking about, babe? What do you mean? You’re kidding, right?” Elena grinned as she spoke to him, confused.

“Let’s break up, Elena. I’m sorry if I have to do this. I was falling in love with my wife already,” he said to her with sad eyes.

“No, you can’t do this to me, Leonard! I’m your original lover, remember? Where supposed to be married! If only that bitch hadn’t snatched you away from me!” Elena cried.

“No, it’s not real. I’m just dreaming. Right? Yes, I am, I know! You love me so much, so it’s impossible!” she said, and then she slapped her cheeks four times. That seems like a madman.

Leonard felt sorry for his girlfriend. He knew Elena would not accept this because of how long they had been dating. He restrained his girlfriend from slapping herself. “Elena, please stop! It’s not a dream. It’s the reality! Were over Elena.” Leonard explained to her.

“No, it’s not! How about our baby? Do you want to abandon it? Don’t you want it?” she asked sequentially.

“If you are thinking of the child, don’t worry because I will still support both of you, and of course, I will recognize it because it is our child. But I’m sorry that I can’t promise you marriage anymore, and I don’t have any plans to annul our marriage,” Leonard said.

Elena hugged Leonard tightly. “Leonard, please, don’t do this to me! I need you, Leonard, I do. Please don’t, okay, let’s fix this! Let’s start over again. I promise I won’t be mad anymore! Please don’t leave me, okay, promise me, please,” Elena begged Leonard as she burst into tears.

No matter what Elena pleads with Leonard, she cannot change his decision because he fixed his decision already. He removed Elena’s two hands that were tied to his body and stood up.

“Leonard, please stop!!! Please, I’m begging you!!!” she cried, as she hugged him again on the behind.

Still, Leonard never listens to her plead. He took off her hands again that was wrapped around him and walked so fast without looking back. Then he shut the door.

Leonard seemed to be pulled by a thorn when he came out of Elena’s condo unit. He was finally out of bondage to it. Now, he is free to say how he feels to his wife, and he is ready to tell her everything.

Elena flies into a rage in her condo unit. Everything she touches, she breaks because of the annoyance she feels. Elena growled in anger at Alyssa. She blames her for everything, why Leonard has lost his love towards her. In which she used to twist in her palms.

A caller stopped Elena on her telephone. Elena was suddenly trembling with fear. She seemed to know already who was calling her. Elena was hesitant to answer it, but it didn’t stop ringing. She had no choice but to answer it. “H-Hello,” she said, stuttered.

“How are you with Leonard? When will he marry you? It’s been years, but you still haven’t given me any news.” The man on the other line asked.

Elena’s eyes widened upon hearing the voice on the phone. “D-Dad?” she said, trembling in fear.

“Don’t call me dad. Remember, you’re not yet in the position to address that to me. Elena, you know our agreement. I will only acknowledge you as my legal daughter if he marries you. You already knew that your mother was one of my mistresses, and you knew I don’t recognize the children of my mistresses. You are lucky because I gave you a chance to be recognized by me and never forget that!” her father threatened her.

Even though she hates her father, she can’t do anything but agree with him. “O-Okay, dad, I understand.”

Her father, which was on the other line, immediately hung up the phone after she answered him, so she did nothing but shout in anger. Now, she is under even more pressure. She no longer knew what she was going to do.

She almost exhausted her voice from screaming until she just sat down on the floor and cried. Ever since she was a child, she did nothing but follow her father’s commands just to be recognized, but whatever she did for her father was still not enough.

Even with the insults of her father’s actual wife, she endured all of it just to enjoy the luxuries of life so she would not allow everything to disappear in an instant. After Elena remembered everything she went through when she was young to reach what Elena has now, Elena suddenly thought that she couldn’t just cry all day in her condo.

She had to think about how she could get Leonard back with her. Elena grew up to be brave and to never give up. But how can she execute her plan? Who can Elena approach? When she could not approach her father because she’s afraid that her father might despise her and will consider her weak.

She held her head, and she said these words. “Think Elena, think, I know you can do it,” when suddenly there was a knock on her door.
