CHAPTER 11: THE REQUEST

Alyssa wondered why his husband seemed to stutter when it's speaking, and why his face seemed no trace of anger talking to her, that she knew he hated her, but even though she was wondering, she didn't dare to ask, so she just answered his question.

"Ahm, okay,"

They both sat on the bed to talk, then Alyssa looked at her husband and asked again, "What are we going to talk about?"

Leonard was also looking at her, but he seemed anxious as he stared at his wife. So much sweat dripped down the side of his forehead that he couldn't explain. It is because clearly, Leonard saw his wife's cleavage. He wonders why he is sweating when he would have been used to seeing a sexy woman, but why does in her case it is different?

Her beautiful cleavage occupied his mind that he could no longer hear what her wife is saying.

"Hey, are you okay? Is there anything that bothered you?" Alyssa asked him again as she slowly approached him and wiped the dripping sweat on the side of his forehead.

He felt his body heat up, and to prevent it from exploding, he immediately stood up in his seat and said, "I-I'm okay, you don't need to worry."

"Ah, okay," Alyssa agreed.

To return to his topic, he cleared his throat first and said, "Ahem, ahem, Grandpa invited us to visit the old mansion tomorrow. He was expecting you there, so you need to be ready for tomorrow and take note will go there early in the morning."

Alyssa understands that what his husband says to her right now is a request. But because of his pride, he made it like an order. That is why Alyssa finds an opportunity to make a deal with her husband.

"I will go with you, but if only you will fulfill my request," Alyssa said.

Leonard frowned at what his wife said. He can't believe that it dares to ask a favor on him, and since he needed her for tomorrow. He first extended his patience and decided to listen to whatever it requested.

"Okay, tell me, what is your request?" he asked as his arms crossed.

Alyssa stood up in her seat and said to him, "Will you allow me to put my things there in your closet? Anyway, I'm still your wife on paper, so I guess I still have rights to this house since our contract will be effective next year."

He was amazed at his wife's explanation. He didn't know that his wife was a tough woman. Well, he knows his wife was right that their annulment will be effective next year, so he agrees to her request.

"Okay, you can put your things there, but there are rules that you must follow."

Alyssa frowned at what his husband had said. She spoke her mind.

"What is this man? Even if I just put my things in the closet, there are still rules to follow? I have nothing against this man, but it's okay because at least he agreed, so I'll take this opportunity!"

Leonard wondered why his wife had not yet answered. He asked her again. "Hey, you still didn't answer my conditions! Will you agree or not?"

Alyssa came back to reality then shakes her head. "Oh, sorry, of course, I will, so what's your rule?" she asked.

"Come here," he commanded.

Alyssa quickly approaches her husband. Then they both went to his walk-in closet. Then Leonard opens it and asked her, as he was pointing something. "See that empty shelves there?"

Alyssa followed her husband's index finger where it pointed and when she saw what it meant, she answered. "Yes, I see it."

"You can put your things there but don't ever touch my things and her things. Okay? That is my rule." He said.

She wondered of whom he refers to, so she asked him, "Whom you refer to about the "she" thing? Wait, is it your girlfriend? That is why you are so mad at me? Then why marry me then, if you have her? Why not fight your love for her? I think you have choices here, am I right?"

Leonards's eyes glared at her at what she said and says. "How dare you tell me what to do? Who do you think you are to give me an opinion? It doesn't mean that I granted your request, then we are close! Don't forget that I only give you what you ask because of grandpa!"

Alyssa didn't move at all because she knew she was wrong. She was overdoing it. She has no right to him because their marriage is just a big lie, so she told her husband. "I'm sorry if you think I am interfering with your personal life. Don't you worry, it won't happen again? And one more thing, I'll go with you tomorrow." Then she turned around and left her husband inside the closet.

Leonard did not move from his position as he was guilty of what he told his wife. He knew he had hurt her again but refrains himself to follow her because Leonard doesn't want his wife to give it a different meaning, so he just let it be.

Alyssa is hurting by the fact that she will never be significant to him. She loves him, but he will never love her. Alyssa realizes that she has no luck in love. It was her first time to fall in love with someone, but he already loves someone else. So she just lay down on the bed while crying until she falls asleep.

Leonard went out to the closet and approached his bed. He saw his wife lying on the bed. Leonard looked at her carefully to see if she was asleep, and when Leonard confirmed that it was sleeping, Leonard approached her and sat down on her side. For the first time, he stared at her face. Leonard realized that it had an angelic face. It also had long eyelashes and thin red lips, and because of the length of time he stared at her, he was almost carried away by his worldly lust and attempted to kiss her on the lips when she suddenly woke up. He immediately stood up in shock and hurriedly turned around.
