Earlier, I had phone my family doctor on my way home from her office. He went in and did a check-up on her while Nanny and I stayed outside my door room.

"Doc, is everything okay with her?." I asked immediately after he came out of my room.

"Yes sir. She's fine. She's just, weak and that's all. I think she's been stressed lately. If I could remember, I clearly state not to stress herself much the other day I did a check-up on her. But, she seems not to have done anything concerning that. I'm sorry to say this but, if she continues this way, she'll end up admitted to the hospital for proper treatment."

"Okay, thank you." I thanked him and he left.

"Spit it out, I'm all ears Ken." She told me in a hard tone. I liked at her and sighed. It's hard to believe that she has been taking care of me right from when I was a child. Now, she's acting like she's Raheenah's real mother.

"She's Chloe." I said.

"You silly boy! Is this the time to make jokes?." She hissed and smack my arm before rolling her eyes at me.

"I'm serious, Nanny. She's Chloe. The same Chloe you know. Actually, there's something I need to tell you."

"What's that?." She looked at me intently.

"I never loved her and neither does she too. I... I paid her to be, my fake girlfriend."

"What?!!!"

"You know about my deal with my parents right? You're also aware that uncle and Irfan are both hell-bent on taking what belongs to me."

"Of course!"

"I couldn't bear to see that happen. It belongs to me, every single damn thing belongs to me and, I'm not ready for marriage. I'm not ready to be attached to anyone... You were aware of what happened to me the last time I fell in love. So, I did my search and came across her."

"I know, you're not the type that listens to news that much but, she was once in one of my districts. I brought her out and made sure to acquit her of her crime."

"What?!! You're dating a criminal?!"

"She's not a criminal. She was framed by her sister and fiance." I explained everything to her without leaving a single part out of it.

"Oh my goodness! Poor girl! I can't imagine the pains she must have been through all these years. You know what? You did the right thing by helping her. How could people be so heartless?!." She hissed as she complained at the same time.

"So, now what?."

"She's helping me get what belongs to me back and, I'm also helping her in getting her revenge on those that hurt her."

"Yes, you did the right thing. So, what's going to happen after that? I mean, between you two. You had to even lie to your parents... What if, they find out about you two?."

"No. They won't. I... We both agreed that even if this whole thing end in marriage, we will do just that. After a year, we can get a divorce. Lie to my parents it didn't work out between us and everyone will go on their separate ways."

"Hmmm, I see." She hummed and she fixed her gaze intently on me again.

"What?." I can't help but ask her.

"Are you willing to let her go?."

I chuckled before replying to her. "what do you mean? Nothing is going on between us. It was just pure contract and that's all."

"I nurtured you, Ken. I raised you like my own child so, you should know I know better than you. I can also read you like an open book. Deep down there, I know you like her. It's written all over your face so, what's holding you back from expressing your feelings to her? Make it real this time around, be bold enough to face your parents and tell them the whole truth. In that way, you'll be happy, she will be happy and so as everyone too... Don't you think?."

"You must be mistaken Nanny, I don't like her in that way of your perspective. You very well know me, you know, I'm no longer into things like that."

"But Ken-"

"Please Nanny, can we not talk about this anymore? Instead, can you take care of her and make sure she's fine?."

"You're worried about her. You cared about her that, you had to leave your work just to make sure she's fine. Think about it, Ken. I know you've been through a lot but, I don't know what's holding you back when you have someone like her already. She seems like a genuine girl to me and I believe, she's never going to hurt you... That, I can vouch for. Just think about it and follow your heart. I'm not going to force you on anything but I hope, you'll do the right thing." She finished saying and leave my presence.

Leaving me all alone in my thought. What have you gotten yourself into- I thought before taking a deep breath out.

Just before I could get up, my phone started ringing.

Who could this be?- I hissed before bringing out my phone from my pocket.

It's Tiana!

"Hey!" I said the moment I picked up the call.

"Ken! Is everything okay? Where's Chloe? I heard that bastard tried to hurt her. Is she fine? Where are you guys? I'm coming over there now." She said everything in one breath as she bombarded me with so many questions.

"Calm down, she's fine. Luckily, I got there in time so, he was not able to do anything to her. She's at my place now and the doctor advised to make her take a good rest. So I think, I might make her stay at my place for a few days before she returns home."

"Huh? Stay at your place? For a few days? But, she can always rest at home here with us."

"You and I both know that can't work. She won't listen to you guys in any way, she will only when I'm with her. I just have to do this since the doctor said it's harmful to her health. Just take this as a vacation for her, believe that she's taking a vacation at my place... Okay?."

"Okay. But, how is she feeling now?."

"She's good. He gave her an injection and I believe, she's asleep right now. She needs lots of rest just as the doctor had said. But, you can give her a call later on so you two can talk."

"Okay, thank you, Ken."

"Hey, brother! How is my sister-in-law doing?." I heard my sister ask me. I looked at my phone strangely before placing it back on my ear.

"Do not tell me, you're still in that house, Janet."

"Of course, I'm. This is my friend's house. So, answer me. How is she feeling now?."

"She's good, I guess."

"And that mother fucker! What have you done to him?." She questioned.

"Yes Ken, I was just about to ask you that too."

"Well, for now... He has been arrested. I will handle his case once your friend gets up and we both discuss about him."

"I can't believe he came all the way there to hurt her. How dare he!" Tiana hissed.

"Come on, girls. I need to hang up now. I have something urgent to attend to. Bye." I said and hang up the call before they could say anything.

Chloe Montclair

I hissed in pain and slowly open my eyes only to find myself in a strange room.

Hmmm, what's going on and, where am I?- I thought as I scan the whole room then, it started to occur to me slowly. How Sebastian came to me and tried to hurt me... All thanks to Ken. I had no idea what he would have done to me.

Oh my goodness! I remembered! He brought me to his house too instead of my place. He made me lay on his bed too.

I sit up and look around the whole room. It's so beautiful and calming too. I love the painting and the art frame on the walls too. They're so beautiful that... I can't take my eyes off them.

All of a sudden, my eyes widened in shock. Nanny! She saw me! Oh my God! She saw me and was even pestering Ken to tell her who I was. What if... What if, she asks me who I'm? What am I going to tell her?

A friend? Or what?

I was still in my thought when the door burst open all of a sudden. I look up and my eyes came in contact with her. She walks in with two maids right behind her with a trail of food in their hands. I have no idea what's inside though.

"You can keep it there." She ordered and pointed at the nightstand. They did as they were told and left the room.

"You're awake." It's a statement but, the look on her face isn't appealing.

She seems like she doesn't like me one bit. Gosh! What do I do? She doesn't know that the girl she doesn't like is also the girl she used to admire a lot.

"Erm... Ye... Yes." I stuttered.

"I'm going to go straight to the point. Who are you and, what relationship do you share with our Ken? Why did he have to bring you in here to his room of all the rooms available in this house?." She bombards me with questions with that same stern look on her face.

It's me, Nanny. It's me your girl, Chloe. I'm sorry that you can't recognize me again but, I've got no other choice. This is for the best between Ken and I- I wanted to say that to her but decide to keep my mouth shut.

She will definitely hate me if she comes to realize that I've been lying to her all this while.

"Erm... I don't know what you're trying to find out but, there's nothing between Ken and I. He's just my business partner. Something came up and I had no idea how I ended up here in his pla-" I was cut off by my words by a hard hit on my arm.

God! She just hit me so hard on my arm. What's wrong with her? Does she have no idea that I do not have such strength to take in any beating or hit for now?

"You crazy girl! How could you lie to me?." She asked before taking a sit right beside me and engulfing me in a tight hug.

I tried to break the hug but she held me tightly in her arms. "Stay still." She said as she smack my back again. Then slowly, she broke the hug and caressed my two hands softly and lovingly.

"Poor girl. You just have been through a lot." She said in a sad tone.

What is she talking about?

"Why didn't you tell me? Why did you have to lie to me? You thought I'm going to hate you or what?." She questioned me again.

What's she talking about? Did she know already?

"I know. Ken told me everything."

"Huh?."

"He told me every single thing about you and how you two met. You didn't meet him at the airport, did you?." She asked and I shook my head.

So, she knows who I'm, she knows the real me but, she didn't hate me?

Why?

Isn't she supposed to be mad at me and tell me, Jawad didn't worth me?

"Okay, that's fine for now. Let's get your stomach filled up before we can talk on any other thing." She said, smiling.

"But, I'm fine for now. I'm not hungry yet." I said and then... My eyes landed on the clock that was on the wall. It's past, 3 pm.

What?!! How come I sleep for that long?

"You need to eat so, you can be strong."

"But, I'm not hun-" I was cut off by my words with the sound my stomach just made.

I bit my lip in shame.

Idiot! Can't you just hold it in there for a little longer?
