Chloe Montclair

"Still, that doesn't mean you can decide for me where to go and where not to go. Besides, I'm perfectly fine. I'm just shocked because of what happened and that's all."

"Oh! Really?." He asked.

"Really." I nod my head and tried to get up but, I end up slumping on the sofa again.

Ever since the day we went to his parent's house and I found out I was an ulcer patient, I've not been strong in the same way I used to be.

"It's better you just listen to me and do as I've asked you to." I heard him say because I still shut my eyes tightly trying to regain my strength back. Before I could realize what was happening, I felt him scoop me up in his arms.

I widened my eyes in shock. He just scoop me up in his arms like I weigh nothing. "Put me down, Ken." I tried to wiggle out from his hands but he is too strong for me.

"Struggle to get down again and I'm going to kiss you mercilessly." He threatened. Of course, I don't need to be told twice, I keep my mouth shut without saying a word.

We walk out of my office and I wanted to ask him about my purse and phone. If it's possible, I can just walk myself without getting any attention on me. I wanted to protest but I can't do that. He threatened to kiss me and I know he was going to do just that.

My assistant rushed to us with a worried look on her face. "Ma'am, are you okay?." She asked in a concerned tone.

Oh my lord! How do I reply to her? Of course, I'm perfectly okay but this man just has to be stubborn for no reason.

"Kara, could you please get her things from her office? We will be in my car waiting for you." He said to her nicely.

"Ye.. yes sir." She bowed her head to him and rushed into my office while Ken walked out of the company with lots of people staring at us. Now, I feel so, so embarrassed but this man... I can't believe he's acting like everything is fine when nothing is.

"Ken please, can you at least put me down?." I whispered to his ear with my arm still wrapped around his neck.

"Not more one word from you, Chloe." He said with a straight face.

We arrive where he parks his car and gently drops me beside the passenger seat before opening the door for me. I got in and sit while he put in my seat belt. I can't help but look at him, stunned.

This is a new side of him that I've never seen. I've always seen him as a jerk who doesn't care about other people but now, he's proving me wrong.

And this stupid heart, I don't know why it's beating weirdly again.

Stop it! Just stop it and stop doing this- I hit my chest lightly as I mentally said to myself.

Kara showed up and I watch her pass my bag to him. He said something to her which made her smile and left after passing me a last look.

He got in and took a sit. "What did you tell her?." I swear, I hate myself right now for asking such a question. I sounded like a jealous girlfriend right now.

"I told her she looks beautiful today. Why? You don't like the fact that your assistant is drooling over me?." He teased. I didn't reply to him, I only rolled my eyes and turn my head to face the other side.

Brute!

He very well knows that I'm aware he's lying. He won't just stop teasing around.

All of a sudden, my mind drift back to what happened in there earlier. How he burst into my office and punched Seb in his face. How he glared hard at him after asking him what he was trying to do to his woman? He just called me his woman?! Oh my God! Someone needs to wake me up from my dream. I can't believe this!- I mentally squeal.

I don't know why or what's wrong with me, I just found myself drifting off to sleep. I allowed myself to be whelmed in that peaceful moment and shut my eyes tightly.

I felt strong but warm hands scoop me up in their arms and I smiled a little bit. I'm attached to his scent... Of course, I know it's Ken.

I snuggle closer to him and bury my face in his neck.  "Oh my God! Why are you home again by this time of the day, Ken? And, who's she?." I heard a worried Mrs. Steve's voice say.

My goodness! It's me! It's me, Chloe! God! How do I explain this to her? She'll hate me too, right? For lying to her. For not telling her the truth about my real self. Not especially now that I've changed my appearance.

"I will explain everything to you but for now, I have to lay her down on the bed. She needs to rest." I heard Ken reply to her.

"I don't care if, she has to lay in your bed or not. What, I'm asking you is... Who's she and, what's she doing in your arms? Why did you bring her here? What about Chloe? I thought she was the only girl in your life so, how come you're bringing home another girl again? That too, by caring so much about her?." She bombards him with questions.

"Nanny. I just said I'm going to explain everything to you." I heard him say again. I could easily tell that he was frustrated by her tons of questions already but, he can't show it to her because he respected her so much.

"Hey! Hey! Hey! Stop right there, Ken. What are you planning to do? You're taking her to your room?."

What?! His room? Why his room though? But, I thought, I have a room already, and, he doesn't allow anyone in his room except himself, why is he taking me to his room?

"Yes."

"Why? And why is that so? For almost three weeks Chloe spent with us here, you never allowed her in your room so, who's she to you?."

I'm mentally squealing in joy right now. Seeing how Nanny is fighting on my behalf with Ken is so appealing. I wish, I wish I can open my eyes right now and start bursting into heavy laughter but, I can't do that. I can't answer her questions right now, I don't have the courage.

"Nanny, please... Allow me to lay her down first. I promise to explain everything to you. Please, just believe me." He beseeches her.
