Chapter 69: Chapter 69

Alexa looked at Ray, who at that time was only two fists apart from her. They were clearly squeezing each other on the couch.

His eyes didn't leave the slightest as he said again, "So why are you talking about other men when I'm here?"

Alexa blinked. What should she answer?!

Seeing him again, it seemed he still wouldn't let go of her like a dog ready to bite and won't be satisfied until she gives an answer.

"Why are you silent? If I'm jealous, you should do something, right?"

Alexa relented. "What should I do?"

"You can kiss me."

"..."

"When the women are angry, won't their anger disappear when they get a kiss?"

'Where did you get an idea like that, you bastard!'

He was very satisfied seeing her anxious face, he shifted slightly, gradually dropping his head on her shoulder. Sighed. "Come on, Lexa, is it a violation to kiss your boyfriend? We're both adults. Why don't you dare?"

"It is not like that."

His head slumped to her thigh. In that narrow space his legs dangled over the arm of the couch.

"So?"

She was completely confused. If she continued to refuse, she would definitely be exposed. So, without thinking much about it, she lowered her head, placing more small kisses on his nose.

But he apparently forgot himself and pulled the back of her head, then captured the pale lips in front of him in one movement and pressed them fully. Alexa moaned, so unresponsive that she had difficulty breathing and pushed him roughly.

Then she coughed several times.

"Can you not kiss me on the lips? You could get infected."

Ray didn't care at all whether he was infected or not. But he regretted it a little when he saw her coughing.

He got up to get a tissue and gave it to her. "Use this to wipe your nose."

She was helpless. Now not only was she coughing and sneezing, she even had thick snot running down her nose until it was full. After struggling to clear her nose, she pushed Ray some distance away.

Instead of leaving, Ray put his hand on her forehead again. "Why hasn't the fever gone down yet? You should get a complete check-up. I'll drag Fran here."

"It hasn't even been half an hou—" Alexa waved her hand to stop him, but was interrupted by a sneeze.

Ray couldn't stand the sound of it, looked for a new blanket in the small cupboard and got one. "Put this on, I'll raise the temperature in the room. Maybe you're cold."

"No need, this room is closed, it would be so stuffy without air."

"Okay." Ray relented. "Now, you better sleep. I'll let you be this time, but the next time you talk about another man in front of me, I'll chase you to death."

Chills ran down her spine seeing his grin.

At the doctor's guest house, there were not many people. The other rooms seemed empty because all the doctors were on duty. Only the three of them were in the room. The television was deliberately turned on to break the silence a little. Neither of them spoke again.

In silence, she was afraid that he would bring up the topic of two days ago. But when she glanced at him from the corner of her eye, he was already asleep.

"???"

Alexa stood quietly, pushing the drip stand into the cupboard one door to get another blanket. She saw two piles of unused blankets and took one for Fillo. She was about to turn around, but she grabbed another blanket and covered Ray as well.

She was busy watching Ray sleep for a long time without moving in her position and started to feel sore. By the time she looked up, she realized the drip had finished. Her hand felt a little sore and blood had flowed into the tube.

While she was confused about how to call the nurse, the door opened and Fran walked in. "I'm on time," he said.

Alexa looked reluctant. "Sorry to trouble you."

"No problem. I'm used to being bothered by him." Fran glanced at Ray deliberately, while slowly removing the tube. "Your blood sugar is low, do you feel dizzy?"

"Yes."

Fran checked her heartbeat briefly with a stethoscope. "I'll prescribe you antipyretic. For a day or two, rest at home. Have you been thinking about a lot lately?"

Alexa subconsciously glanced at the sleeping Ray. Fran also saw the direction she was looking and understood.

"Is this stinky boy causing you trouble?"

She stuttered and answered in a low voice, "W-Why do you ask like that?"

"No need to whisper." Fran put a plaster on the IV site. "He usually sleeps pretty soundly after taking the meds, so he won't wake up."

She was curious about this. "Why does he have to take medicine?"

Fran's gaze didn't change and he seemed silent without saying anything.

"Is he sick?"

"He's having trouble sleeping," Fran finally answered. "His insomnia is quite troublesome."

She understood and didn't ask any more questions.

"You can rest here for a while. I'll come back to check on you in half an hour."

She felt that Fran was hiding something after he left in a hurry. But then she remembered that the doctor was very busy, so didn't think about it anymore.

After Fran left, she started to feel sleepy. To be honest, she was also feeling bad insomnia lately. She probably only sleeps two to three hours every day. Not to mention that with so many things on her mind, it was only natural that she would fall ill.

She didn't want to think about the problem now, she saw Ray sleeping uncomfortably in the couch, and woke him up. His eyes blinked briefly before finally opening.

"Done with the drips?" He asked, he realized there was a blanket on his body. "It's not that cold for a healthy person, why did you give me a blanket?"

Alexa was confused about how to explain it, then thought about selling someone else. "The nurse came to give blankets to Fillo and you, not me."

Ray frowned quite deeply, looking like he didn't believe it.

He looked at his phone. "Are you hungry?"

Alexa shook her head. "No. I have no appetite."

Ray sighed, he knew what it was like to have a bad appetite when he was sick. His hand reached forward, landing on Alexa's pale and languid cheek. "You have to keep eating even if you don't want to. If you don't recover, I will keep Fillo away from you."

"Are you threatening me?"

Ray laughed, but then the laugh faded into a more serious expression. Being stared at like that, Alexa felt uncomfortable, she tried not to look directly at his deep and gloomy blue eyes.

But he held her hand. "Alexa, be honest with me. Did you get sick because you thought about what I said two days ago?"
