Chapter 35: Chapter 35
"God dammit! Are you crazy? Who are you making me deal with, huh?"
"What do you mean?"
Alexa showed a displeased expression at the man who had just arrived, but of course it wouldn't work. She drank helplessly, trying not to affect Fillo's holy ears because of their reckless remarks later.
"I was almost thrown into the ocean if I didn't beg for mercy. In fact, I'm sure he would actually do that, no matter who I was!" Gerald pounded the table.
The cafe on deck 7 was not quiet at that time. Everyone's attention was immediately drawn to them.
Alexa sighed.
Gerald Wiley, host number two whom she accidentally met at that time, now became close to her. They agreed to collaborate a few days ago for mutual benefit.
The young man who usually looks like a bourgeois man, now wears big glasses and has messy hair. His clothes were just a thin white t-shirt, and he was wearing sweatpants. By looking at him like this, he looked like a college student.
"I do not understand what you mean."
Gerald was not satisfied with that answer. "Ray Sanders! Did you know you made me deal with him?"
For important information; Gerald was the man Alexa hired to prank Hailey at the party five days ago. Gerald only managed to meet her today because she suddenly cut off their communication access and acted like a stranger.
Gerald once tried asking the receptionist for visitor information, but to no avail.
Who is he? He's just an ordinary teenager. Only hosts that conglomerate women like. He doesn't have any amazing names!
In the end, his vacation plans were ruined because he was detained by large, scary strangers in a closed warehouse. The woman who hired him ran away and reported him to the club's hosting agency, nearly getting him fired. Today he had just come out of detention for three days and three nights, stripped naked and interrogated non-stop until he had to admit something he didn't do.
Absolutely terrible!
That's when he heard that he accidentally offended a rich and handsome man named Ray Sanders.
Even when he went out to seek solace and met Alexa, this woman's attitude was very indifferent. Even though he did his best to keep her secret in there.
Ugh.
He didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"I almost lost my job," he complained again.
If only he remembered that she had not paid him yet, he would definitely not have anything to do with this woman again.
Just after he thought about it, a bag of money was placed on the table. Several sheets peeked through the pocket.
"Did you mention my name to them?" Alexa asked, while feeding her son peanut ice cream.
Gerald gulped. "Of course not."
'So, this woman is rich?' he thought.
His hand reached out to grab the bag, but Alexa pulled it back. "You can take it, but on one condition."
Gerald chuckled. "Yeah, whatever you say. We've been working together from the start. Men don't break their promises."
"Men can't break their promise!" Fillo muttered excitedly.
Gerald and Alexa, "..."
At one point, Gerald's face suddenly changed. He didn't care about the money and his gaze didn't leave the child in front of him. Somehow he felt like he had seen that kid somewhere, and he resembled with …
"Hey, what are you looking at? Don't give my son dirty looks! Shoo, shoo." Alexa reached out to avert Gerald's gaze.
"No, wait!" But he stopped her hand quickly. "Oh, dude! He looks a lot like Ra—"
Her hand managed to silence him completely. He glared at the woman.
"Don't talk anymore."
He nodded. That was when she finally let go and pushed the money bag into his chest.
"Now you can go."
He was still in a daze.
She buried Fillo's face into her chest with all her might. The child struggled, but she continued to hold him in while shooing Gerald away. "What? Go away!"
But Gerald didn't leave.
"Damn it! Do you want to rape me in public? How shameless! I already gave you a lot of money!" And that's the money I borrowed from Jane, she grumbled in her mind. "Guard! Where is this cafe guard?"
Of course he panicked at the shout. Also with everyone's gazes now directed at him. He wanted to reply to her again but didn't dare, but he accidentally read her lips, then left after her.
Two staffs arrived when Gerald had left. One of them asked her, "Miss, did something happen?"
"You were too slow and now you're asking me?!" she said angrily.
"Sorry, Miss, we—"
"Go away! I won't come to a place with weak guards like this again!" She cut him off. "Come on, Fillo, let's go."
The two guards stepped aside as she passed by and scratched their heads in confusion.
In fact, the staffs was playing a phone game in the background when the incident occurred. Seeing how angry she was, they both shivered in fear.
"Is that woman going to complain about us?"
"I hope not! I can't lose this job!"
***
When the ship landed again, it was already evening in the New York sky. Without wasting much time, Alexa took Fillo into a taxi and decided to go home. She didn't buy many souvenirs on the big cruise ship. Just a few cute souvenirs that her son liked.
After the second day of vacation, it was a completely quiet day, without Ray and Hailey.
When she heard that their relationship was experiencing a crisis, she even believed that the two of them had already broken up.
She laughed with satisfaction. Even though Gerald looked incompetent, he was actually a reliable man. Host number two was true to his name, good at spouting nonsense very naturally. Never mind those conglomerate women, Hailey definitely wouldn't be able to move when dealing with them.
For the rest of the trip, she didn't hear from Ray at all. It's true that he disembarked in Mexico after the incident. But strangely, Ray still ordered the servant to prepare healthy food for her son, even still asked the doctor to check her injured ankle periodically. And when she had the pleasure of contacting him, it was a shame that his phone was not active.
Can the plan be said to be successful?
Even a week later, Alexa still had no news and Ray's phone was still unreachable. Strangely, two people in black suits regularly came to her house several times on the pretext of delivering food. When he asked, they said that it was ordered by Ray.
Really! What was this bastard's real goal?
"Where's he?" She finally asked.
"We were only ordered to deliver this food, Miss. We have no right to say anything else."
"Hey! Are you guys always this stiff? Ray is torturing you or something?"
The two people looked at each other confused.
That was the umpteenth time that two people have come to deliver food. They even arrived on time as if they had memorized the hours she worked and had holidays. It was because of this that she felt like she was being watched.
When she finished thinking about it, that person was still silent. "Be honest with me, where is he now? Did something happen? Did he commit suicide?"
"Miss, we're sorry. But this is what we were told to do and as for anything else, we don't know."
"So, are you guys going to say where he is or not?" Alexa insisted.
The two big men looked at each other, then one of them nudged the other's arm. Finally the man with the asymmetrical mustache was willing to answer, "We really don't know, Miss. It's just that I heard that Mr. Sanders is currently in Mexico."
What?
After two weeks of that incident, he was still there? Did he really experience serious heartbreak? What if he committed suicide there?
She shook her head.
If he dies it's none of her business.
"So you're saying this wasn't made by him directly?" Alexa lifted the food box.
"The food was made by the housemaid at Mr. Sanders' house. You can rest assured that it is safe and non-toxic."
It's not like she doesn't believe it or anything. So far she has been eating the food and was fine. In fact, their nutritional intake was very fulfilled because of it.
It's just that, she thought this food was made by Ray.
"Then this is the last time you will deliver this food." Her expression looked bad. "Tell him I won't accept any more food donations!"
"But, Miss—"
With that, she opened the door and closed it with a bang. Didn't let the two people chase her.
... to be continued ...
