Chapter 6: Chapter 6

A week passed in a blink of an eye. I trained with Trevor and Drake on and off for the past several days while planning for the mission into GenesisX. Tix and I were getting ready in her room. She was disguising herself as a doctor for the company. Apparently, Ethan made fake I.D.'s for her and Angie. They looked really good, I couldn't even tell they were fakes and I worked checking these same I.D.'s.

"What do you think? Real enough?" She asks curiously while hovering over my shoulder as I Iooked it over. "Surprisingly, yeah. It's too good to tell apart from the real ones." "Good." She takes it back and clips it to her white coat. Her hair was tied up in a bun and she wore fake glasses to complete the look. During the week, she helped me find a dress to wear to the summons. I was okay with makeup but she insisted to let her fae magic do the work. Less work for me. "Okay, I applied the final touches. Go take a look and tell me what you think." I get up from the chair I was sitting in and walk over to a body mirror on the back of her door. I had on a black and blue, ombre, long dress. The top part cuffed my neck and had a opening showing cleavage and cuts off at the waist. The bottom stopped at my ankles and had a slit up to a bit of my thigh. My hair fell in waves over my shoulders with half tucked behind my ear. I could see where Tix put on sapphire earrings with silver lining the outside. My shoes were black, flat, open strapped, heels. My makeup was light and natural while emphasizing my amber eyes. "Oh my...Is this really me?" I ask Tix, stunned by my appearance. I've never seen myself look so beautiful before. I wasn't used to all the revealing parts but I could let it slide due to how hot I looked right now. "Amazing right?" She had a huge grin on her face. "You guys gonna be okay?" I frown from worry at her. "Don't worry. You'll know everyrhing going on. I told you we are mind linked, right?" She holds my shoulders and cocks her head to the side with a small smile waiting for me to answer. I nod and turn back to the mirror. "Yeah, I remember. It's just I haven't felt so at home with so many people I just met." She hugs me from behind, "I get what you mean. Best friends?" "Best friends." I answer back. I felt me and Tix have connected so much since the first time I met her. She listened to me about my inner struggles and now she's helping me get answers. I can't help but be close to someone like that. "Now, listen," she turns me around to face her, "Serena and Angie will be here any moment. I want you to rock this summons as the hottest wolf there. No matter what happens I want to know. In turn, we will keep you updated. If anyone asks about us, you tell them the three of us went out for a girl's night since the summons deals with wolves. Trevor will believe that because we've done it before." I nod and take in a breath. "You ready?" She asks. "As i'll ever be." I give her a small smile and open the door to leave. "The summons will be in the training area. They've set up a huge tent, so you can't miss it." Tix says out the door as I am walking down the hallway. I give her a thumbs up to let her know I heard. ' Serena and Angie are here. We're gonna head out too. Talk to you soon, blue. ' Tix tells me via mindlink. ' Good luck ' I say back.

I make my way out of the east wing when Jessica stops me. "Wow, even a roach knows how to dress extravagantly." She smirks.

She was dressed in a red dress that cuts off at the knee's. The top was a V-line shape. Her brown hair was decorated with jewels that weaved through various parts of her head. She had sliver, glittery, long earrings dangling from her ears. "Lot's of jewelry to cover up a lot of ugly." I then attempt to walk pass her but she cuts me off again. "You wanna repeat that, bitch?" Tix over hears the conversation through our mindlink and she chimes in, ' Tell that bimbo to get lost! Before I go all tinkerbell on her! ' I laugh through our mindlink. "What's so funny?" Jessica snaps. "What's funny is that it takes you two times to hear a person tell you to get fucking lost." She growls at me and in turn I growl back. "Ladies! Ladies! No need to get so worked up. There's enough Chase to go around." Serena scoffs through the link. ' This is the one time I am glad he showed up. ' she says. ' Don't tell him that. He will let it go to his head. ' Angie warns Serena. ' Noted. ' "There's no fight here. I was just letting the..." Jessica looks me up and down, "newbie know her place." Chase folds his arms over his chest. He was wearing a open button, black ,tux with a silver earring. "And what place would that be?" I've never seen Chase get so serious before. "The place that I am her soon to be Luna. Mate to Trevor." Chase scoffs at her and licks his bottom lip. "That's false, nothing is proven nor factual. So, your reason for standing here and bothering a fellow pack member is not warranted. Now, get lost." He snarls at her. She clicks her tongue at him and walks off toward the back of the mansion where the celebration is. ' That was scary even hearing how he sounded over mindlink. ' Tix says. ' Don't you dare tell him that, Shane! ' she adds. ' My lips are sealed. ' ' Good. ' I focus back in on Chase who was running his hand through his hair. " You ok?" I place a hand on his arm by his side. "Hmm? Yeah, I just hate holier than thou people. We're supposed to be united as a pack. So, seeing that bugs me. Even if it's just to prove dominance. Sometimes over board is over board." These moments are ones that shine light on Chase's vulnerable side that is in a way attractive. He wasn't my type though. More like a brother than anything. " I agree." He takes a double take of my outfit and slaps himself. "Wow! There is a gorgeous girl in front of me and I haven't even asked to escort her. " He holds out his elbow for me to take. "With pleasure." I give him a warm smile. He returns it with his own.

We make our way into the tent and everyone's eyes land on me. I shrink under the gazes but keep my head held high. ' Don't let them smell fear on you. They will use it against you. ' Serena warns me. ' Roger. How is it going? ' ' So far so good. They are at the door to the files room trying to get the security guard to let them in. ' ' Any luck? ' I ask nervously. ' Don't know yet. Stay focused. ' Chase leads me to a table where Drake and Trevor were already sitting. Trevor's eyes land on me instantly. His hair was disheveled as always and his tux style was similar to Chase's. Drake was dressed properly. Buttoned up and all. His hair was slicked back. It was nice to see him so cleaned up. Trevor walks up to me and Chase and looks at our arms linked. "Mind if I steal your date?" He asks Chase with a demanding tone. "Finders, Keepers man." He raises his shoulders in a shrug. Trevor gives him a pointed look. "Alright, Alright. Don't get your fur in a bunch. Sorry beautiful. Alpha's orders." I chuckle and give him a peck on the cheek for helping me earlier. Trevor made a low growl but got it in control quickly. "Careful, you'll make me think you want me." Chase winks. I smack him on the arm and face back to Trevor. He clears his throat, "You look stunning." I smile and look at my toes before responding, "You look pretty handsome yourself ......Alpha." His eyes grow twice their size, "Alpha? Are you submitting to me?" I snicker at him. "You wish. Just thought you would like to hear it." He grins in response to my answer and he offers me a seat next to him to sit down. I take it and get comfortable. Drake compliments me and I do so in turn. Alot of other shifters were in their own conversations when Trevor got up to go to the front of the tent area. 'Shane. ' Angie's voice calls. ' What's up? ' ' We're in. We are just taking care of a code on the lock. Tix is trying to get a hold of Ethan to hack the system. ' I sigh a breath of relief. So they are almost done. Cool. Maybe it will be smoothe sailing for the rest of the mission. " I want to welcome you all to the 646th Luna Summons." Trevor's voice announces on a microphone. Everyone claps in response. "As per tradition, every eligible, unmated, female wolf will line up in front of the stage area and present themselves to me. I will then attempt to feel for a fated mate connection. Thus, she will prenounced my Luna. The pack's undisputed Luna. By the grace of our Goddess Nyx." Everyone howls in celebration. "Let the summons begin." He then sits down in the middle of the stage. "That's our cue Drake. Time to manage the ladies." He then makes his way to the stage with Drake on his heels. Every female wolf lines up. I stay seated knowing that I got time. I notice Trevor was displeased with the action, but I didn't care. I wanted to get an update on the girls.

' How's it coming guys? ' Silence was the only thing coming through. I start to become anxious. ' Serena? You there? ' ' Hey! Sorry I was giving Angie and Tix an update of the ceremony. ' Her voice felt so refreshing like air in my lungs after being deprived. ' They currently cracked the code, so they are making their way back. I didn't want to open a portal and risk them getting caught. ' ' That's understandable. I can see why a big portal would be a problem. ' ' Exactly. ' Serena and I go back and forth with the discussion of Tix's and Angie's movements. Soon I see the line down to five people. Jessica and some others. ' I got to get in line now. Hopefully this goes well. ' ' Fingers crossed.' Tix says. Jessica is the next one on the stage. She curtsy's to Trevor and keeps her head low. Trevor had his head laid on his knuckles sitting in the chair. " I am sorry, Jessica. It's not you." She stands up abruptly. "But! I had every female submit to me besides the outliers!" She shouts. "Then you are no Luna if you force yourself on others. If you continue to step out of line. I will remind you of who your Alpha is." His eyes glow warningly at her. She lowers her eyes and runs off. After a few more ladies, I was the last one to approach. I stand and keep my eyes locked on his. "Sorry, no disrespect, I just can't curtsy. I haven't considered you my Alpha so...it's not like it's against the rules right?" I shrug. He gets out of his chair, rushes to me, and kisses me. He pulls away and holds me in his arms, " My Luna has appeared!" Everyone howls and shows their necks to me in unison. All my thoughts jumble together. I start to panic and run off stage into the cool night breeze. I want to shift but I don't want to ruin Tix's hard work. "So, it's you." Jessica's voice calls from the shadows. "You don't think I know about your little friend's mission?" She asks sarcastically with a snarl. "You know about that?" "Oh. I know more than just that." ' Shane! ' Tix voice screams through the link, ' they were in on it! Jessica is the rat! She was the one messaging me! They...They have been testing on my friend Ethan! You need to run! Get away! We will be there soon! ' I panic from the message I recieved. I shift immediately and take off. Jessica is on my heels chasing after me. ' Are you guys safe?! ' I ask through the link. ' Yes! Serena opened a portal from where we were, when she realized how suspiciously easy this was. We got some files too! ' Knowing my friends were safe I could think clearly. I catch Trevor's scent in the wind mixed with Drake's and Chase's. I come to a stop at the edge of a cliff. Jessica catches up and shifts back into a human, "There's no where to run now, bitch." She makes her way slowly to me. I snap at her legs as she tries to get closer. She backs off a little. "He was supposed to be mine! You ruined everything! You and your dumb group of misfits! You all's kind doesn't belong here!" She screams with tears evident in her eyes. My eyes follow her as she moves about the clearing. "Did you know there is an exception to the rule of becoming Luna?" Jessica asks in a tone of matter of fact. "I made every female submit to me, besides Tix and those other cunts." I growl at her for calling my friends cunts. ' We are almost there, Shane! Hold on! ' Serena sounds out of breath like she is running. I guess she can only open portals to places she's been before. I hadn't realized how far I ran for them to be so far behind. "Shut it, mutt!" Jessica's snarl snaps me back into the moment with her still stalking around me. "There is a way to become Luna, if I can get every female to submit...then by default, Trevor would have no choice but to accept me. Then, You and Tix, etc. came and ruined my chance to rule! That in itself is worthy of death!" She makes her way forward to me and I get ready to pounce on her. "JESSICA!" Trevor's voice booms through the tree's stopping her in her tracks. "Get the fuck away from her!" Chase screams next. They were all about to shift when Jessica wags her pointer finger back and forth. "Shift and I will knock me and her off the cliff." Drake is the last out of the tree's and looks confused as to why the other guys haven't got to me yet. "Trevor, we could've had it all...but instead you chose to bring a freak to our location and name her as your Luna. Originally, she was just supposed to be a tool, wasn't that right?" My heart sinks because everything I thought was true...My wolf whimpers with heartache hoping that she will hear something different. "Yes...but!" He admits reluctantly. He tries to explain before cuts him off again. "No buts! You really think the council will accept this? She is a wanted experiment! A basic wannabe wolf! You chose this over authentic?!" She points to me accusingly. "You have no right to say who's authentic and fake, bimbo." Tix and girls make their way out of the tree's. "Well, now the misfits are together. You can watch as your best friend dies!" I jump for her neck but I am lasso'd with a thick wire around my neck and pulled down over the cliff. "SHANE!!!" I could hear all of them screaming my name. I could hear a helicopter above me and Jessica was being pulled into it. She must've jumped when I was yanked.

I could feel the electricity building on my fur. It crackled and popped as if it was going to release. I could still hear my friends screaming my name. Then, suddenly as burst of electricity shot from my body and I went to attack the person yanking the wire. I howled in pain when I saw my leg was broken. I looked up to see the distance I fell. I was so far down that Trevor and the boys' wolf looked like dots in the distance. Shouldn't I be dead? How did I survive that with only a broken leg? I sharp pain came through my neck. I could see a woman that looked like my mother in a white coat. "She's sedated! Get her in the cage now!" My mom's voice was clear as day. I was being dragged into the cage when I used the last bit of my strength to bite the male to my left neck. His blood filled my mouth and I felt something snap back into place. It was my leg! So, blood heals me? Gross! I take off like a bolt of lightning through the valley. I was following a stream that I found while running. I could hear the slight hums of vehicle's following after me. I dart into the woods to cover myself. I then zip around objects to confuse the people following me. The hums then start to get quieter until I couldn't hear them anymore. I must've lost them. I come across a nearby cave and slip inside. I could feel the adrenaline wearing off and thebsedation set in. Guess the blood didn't cure me of that. I wanted to shift back but my wolf protested. I gave into her worries and passed out.
