Chapter 4: Chapter 4
I make my way back to the east side of the mansion and I realize I had no idea which room I came out of. There was a bunch of doors lining the hallway with numbers and names on them. Ok...so at least they have names on them. Maybe mine does as well. I walk pass alot of doors even one that said "Jessica" on it. After about a little ways down I spot Tix's door and mine right next to it. I loved the fact we were neighbors. It made it all the more comforting to know she was there in case I needed anything. Why hadn't I noticed before? I shrug it off and knock on Tix's door. Hopefully she will be there so we could talk. "Coming!" I hear her shout at the door. She opens the door and sees me standing there with a face that tells her I got tea to spill. "Ok, come in, looks like this is gonna be good." I rush in and take a seat on the day bed pushed against the window. I notice she always loved being near windows. "Ok, spill what's going on?" She says as she closes the door and sits down beside me. Her legs were crossed on the bed facing me. "Well...where do I start? I connected with my wolf and I think I have a crush on Trevor, Oh! And I remembered alot of memories one even including a long time friend of mine. Also, I think the guy that was in the video...is still alive." Tix blinks her eyes from the on slaught of information I gave her. "Okay...wow. That is alot. Does Trevor know about this? Except the crush thing obviously. Which we will get to!" "Half of it. Not all." I begin to tell her about what happened with training and what the wolf showed me after touching her. Tix sits back and sighs a breath. "So, what do we do?" "Whaddaya mean?" "I meannn," she drags out "what do you want to do about the information you told me. Obviously, you don't want to tell Trevor about the memories and your friend. So, I guess I am asking how do you want to go with this?" I hadn't really thought that far about it. I mean, I wouldn't know where to start...other than with my parents company. I told them I would contact that soon, but I now I am rethinking that entirely. I want to know the truth and I want to find these people I once knew. It was a task that I was going to need help with. "I want to find Maze and that guy I saw. However, I don't want Trevor finding out." She takes in a breath that sounds like a hiss, "I don't know how that's gonna happen. You heard him, all eyes are on you, and you're kinda a wanted woman right now. Plus, you're in the middle of training. Gonna have to think this out more, Blue." I guess Blue was going to be my nickname now. It didn't bother me, it was kinda endearing, depending who was calling me it. "I know, but everyone's refusing to tell me more about what's going on...so I want you to help me do some research about the Society that is after me." "I only know so much myself. Alright. I'm in. Maybe we can add someone or two to our cause?" She asks with a wink. "Who?" She smiles and takes out her cellphone and contacts two people. "Hey, Angie! Mind meeting me at my room in about...five minutes or so? Great! See you then." Before I could ask why Angie, she already was on the phone with someone else. "Serena! Looks like Blue has got some interest in what we've been researching. She wants in. Meet me at my room in five? Cool. See you then." She then hangs up and turns back to me. "Alright looks like our group is coming together." She puts her phone back in her pocket and I furrow my brows, "Umm what the hell was that?" I point toward where she put her phone in her pocket. "Serena and I have been researching the Society for awhile now. For our own reasons as well. Just like you...I am different. I just don't like to announce it. I like feeling I am apart of a group and not so outcasted." I nod. I can understand why she would feel like that. I mean I am in the same boat. However, I don't need to feel apart of the group since i've had a couple of friends my entire life. Having Tix was enough for me. "If you don't mind me asking. I know I asked earlier about what you look like as a wolf, but I get the feeling you aren't one." "You'd be right. That's why me and Serena are really close. She's kind of like a big sister, really. As for what I am, I am a fae." My mouth drops open, "Like a fairy or pix-" "Not! A pixie! Or fairy. Those terms are very insulting to my kind. Which is why I get angry about it. I was rejected by my clan. Trevor and the boys found me one day after almost being taken by the Society. They saved me and I met Serena. She tended my wounds and made me feel safe. Once I found out she was a, well you know. We bonded and became very close." It makes sense why her and Serena are so niched together. They were two against many. The funny thing is...I am their kind, yet not. I wonder how Maze feels right now. "Why is Serena here?" I ask pointing out how she explained her story but Serena's didn't really make sense. "All she told me was that her coven became part of the Society to escape their treatments. She didn't want any part of that and eventually found her way here treating the pack." Simplistic explanantion. Guess Serena likes to keep some things to herself. I don't blame her for that. You never know who to trust these days. I know that all too well now.
A knock came to the door, Tix walks to the door and opens it to find Angie and Serena standing at the other side. "Good. Looks like everyone is here." She closes the door and sits back next to me. "So, you want in on this, huh?" Serena was dressed in ripped blue jeans and a black crop top. Her arms were crossed with her hip cocked. "Yeah. Alot of things just aren't making sense anymore and I need answers." I shrug and lay back on the bed. "You're telling me. A electric, blue, wolf. Makes me wonder what in the world do they think they are creating. First, they want to get rid of our "illness"" Angie quotes. I guess everyone loves doing that. "But they are making advanced versions and using them as soldiers? Doesn't quite add up if you ask me." She plops down in a chair next to a desk with a laptop on it. I sit up and take her looks in. Her olive skin and hazel eyes stood out with her camo, laced, tube top and brown shorts. Her hair was braided back so you could see the silver earrings she had on. "How do you play in all this?" "Have you not noticed the mismatched theme going on here? Blue wolf, spellcaster, fae, and take a guess." She points at each of us and stops on herself. People love to call her angel, but there is no way she could be one. Their supposed to be in heaven, right? "I'm gonna take a hard guess and say Angel." She smirks, "Bingo." At this point my mind is blown. "How...what...angel?!" "Yes, yes take a minute to take it in. I am a winged shifter. Much like these ladies..." she moves her finger between them, "my tribe couldn't handle the greatness that is me." She shrugs. Her face was that of nonchalant. Prideful was definitely an understatement. "More like they couldn't handle bullshit." "Now, now no need to get your panties in a bunch." Serena scoffs with a smile. "I found you beauties. Who needs them?" "Well, glad you approve finally. You've been with us for so long...I was wondering when you'd realize our greatness." Tix winks and flips her hair teasingly. We all laugh. "My tribe didn't want me because my powers "were too unpredictable" as they put it. I was the most powerful they've seen in their time and didn't want me taking away their hierarchy. So, they broke my wings and discarded me here. Serena and I known eachother the longest. The coven and tribe were close, so we knew eachother from a young age. When she got word I had "fallen" from grace. She went looking for me immediately and brought me here." Angie's words were solem with sorrow. Almost like remembering it felt as real as when it happened. "So, now I am team wolfy. Well, team Stone Valley pack." She shrugs and leans back in her seat. "More like team outcast." Serena gives her a pointed look. Angie points her finger at Serena, "You're right!" "Alright, alright" Tix waves her hands to get their attention. "You wanna hear my plan?" We all nod. She pulls out her phone and shows us a contact in her phone named, "Ethan".
"Ethan is a friend of mine from my childhood. He infiltrated GenesisX and started working there as a technician. It's not uncommon for some fae to be working with them." She points out. "How do you know he won't betray us?" Angie asks with a pointed look. "I have faith in him. We've been super close before. I don't think he would. Plus he's been sending me documents from their data base. They haven't tracked him yet. So, I'd say he's trust worthy." She shrugs and walks over to her desk and opens her laptop to show us the data she recieved. "Ok, say we trust him. What's the plan from there." Serena asks doubtful of Tix's plan. I take Serena as the over precautionary type. It's not a bad thing, just means she thorough in what she does. "One of us sneaks in, while he disables the cameras and security system for us to get everything we need." Serena mauls over her plan and gives her a cut look. "There's no way he's doing this for free. I mean he is sticking out his neck for no reason. What's the catch?" Angie joins Serena with her skeptism. I can't blame them. That is a good point to bring up. He's risking his life for some reason or another. "I gotta agree with them Tix. This just doesn't add up why he'd been doing this for you without a cause." She sighs in defeat. "He wants sanctuary here in the pack. Safety from the Society. I told him I don't think it be a problem considering how we've been needing more gear." Both Angie and Serena huff with frustration. "You made a promise, you know is hard to keep! Why would you do that?!" Serena shouts at Tix. "Because he is the one whose been making everything electronic for us! Shane!" She turns to me and I snap my head towards her. I really didn't want to get in between this but I guess I have no right to say that now. Considering I wanted to find more about the truth. "You remember when I told you about the tables earlier?" I nod in acknowledgement to her question. "Yeah. Are you saying you ACTUALLY knew them?" She scoffs, "Well duh! Did you think I was just being prideful?!" I open my mouth to respond but she stops me with a frustrated look. "Nevermind. Look, we just have to convince Trevor later. For right now, " she turns back to her laptop, "We need to get this ball rolling. So are you guys in or not?" She looks over her shoulder to all of us. A understanding passes between us. "Yeah we're in. Where do we start?" I say as I focus my attention back to the screen.
