Chapter 27: Chapter 27

The day that I've been preparing for has arrived.

Mark was requested to attend the meeting. They've been nagging him about it for a week now. I know that he and his wolf are on edge because of the risk they would take if I lost in the fight.

'Wendy, come to my office.' Mark said through the link. He sounds mad and I can feel it through the bond.

'Don't stress yourself too much. I'll be fine.' I said, but he didn't reply.

I knocked three times on his office door before I went in.

Everyone is silently staring at me as I make my way to his side. He then grabs me when I'm a handful away.

"Alpha, since Wendy is here. We can proceed to our discussion earlier." Gloria, one of the elders.

"I told you that she's not participating in that fight. She's my mate." I can feel the power radiating out of his body. Everyone is showing their neck but still wants to proceed with the tradition.

I held Mark's face with my hands. I forced him to look me directly in the eyes.

"It's okay Mark. I'm okay, I'm ready."

"This is insane! The Moon Goddess has already decided about this, we're already mated but these oldies want me to send you to fight for the title that you deserve! That's insane!"

"I know that you're worried and mad, but that's how it works. After this fight, we can change the rules. I also want to show them that I'm capable of the position. Calm down and let's get it over."

"But----"

"Don't you trust me?"

"I trust you, but I don't want you to get hurt or die and live a life alone."

I stared at his eyes and scanned the reaction of the people inside the room. How dare they make my mate feel sad? They want to kill me and give the position to the person who once left them to follow her own desires.

"I'm going to win this fight no matter what. I will show these people that I'm the rightful Luna of the Wolf fang pack." My wolf shows her presence and stared at everyone. I let her control my body for a minute to show how serious we are in this matter.

"Since you agreed with us, then I, Ysabelle, warrior of Wolf Fang, challenge you for the Luna title."

"I accept."

"The fight will be held in the training ground two days from now. Is there anyone who wishes to participate?" Gloria.

No one answered. It seems they all think that Ysabelle will win this fight.

"Since you, all agree with this and already said what you want. Then do what the f*ck you want."

"Alpha Mark, we're still your elders. Please respect us."

"Respect? If you didn't respect the Goddess' decision regarding my mate, then you are asking for my respect? How dare you?"

I become tense when I feel the air is changing. It's one of Mark's abilities.

"Alpha, please calm down," Kayden said.

"Mark, look at me." He didn't move an inch.

Everyone's eyes are on us. I can't let him kill these people at this stage.

He wants to protect me and his wolf range affects his mind.

I think I don't have a choice right now.

I grabbed his face and kissed him. I feel embarrassed when he didn't move.

I feel him stiffen when he realizes what I'm doing.

I feel him relaxing. I was about to end the kiss but he grabbed my butt and put me at the top of the table.

This time, my embarrassment doubled. Luckily, my back is facing them.

Mark continued kissing me and let everyone watch us.

'Mark, they are watching us.' I reminded him.

He stopped and looked at the people inside the room.

"What are you all still doing here?"

"You haven't dismissed us yet, Alpha," Gloria said.

"I can't do anything with all your complaints regarding my mate and yet you want me to order you? You're all free to get the hell out of here." Mark harshly said.

"You're becoming disrespectful to your elders, Alpha Mark," Ysabelle said.

"Disrespectful?"

"Yes, you're becoming your old self when your sister di--"

"Ysabelle," I warned her.

That's a very sensitive topic to start with. I just embarrassed myself just to calm my mate and yet she wants to enrage him again.

"I'm just saying," Ysabelle said.

"Leave now," Mark said.

They hurriedly left the room and leave me with the mad alpha.

He hugs me when everyone is out.

"I can't understand them. I feel like they didn't respect me or the Goddess."

"They are just blinded by the rules and tradition. You're an alpha, not only by blood but because you fought for the position. I, as your mate, should do the same."

"I know Ysabelle, she will fight to kill."

"Then you should say goodbye to her because once I step on that stage, I will kill her. Angel didn't train me just to survive, she trained me to kill whoever is in my way."

"I'm glad to hear that. I entrusted your training to her because she's an extraordinary wolf. Her mind and power are beyond all of us."

"And she's my friend too now. I will make her proud."

"I'm happy to see that you and Angel are getting close. We have a connection. Like a brother and sister connection ever since I found her. I don't want you to think that I'm in love with her or whatsoever."

"Don't worry about that. I'm not simple-minded. I understand your relationship with her and who cannot love that girl? She's amazing and nice to me."

"Indeed."

"Now, I need to train." I was about to get off the table when Mark cornered me.

"You're leaving me after doing this." He pressed his erection on me.

"I-I didn't mean it that way."

"You started it, you should do something about it." Mark moved fast and locked the door.

I tried to escape but he pinned me back down to the table. My front is facing the wooden table while my back is hitting his erected spot.

I could swear that someone will surely hear his hard slams on me if they are outside the door.

I can't help but laugh at the thoughts while feeling embarrassed at the same time.

I love this man and I will do everything to make him happy.
