Chapter 41: Chapter 41

"That in every gathering, there's always a Judas!"

That statement was all that bothered Doctor Roberts as his chauffer drove to the skyscraper. Michael was known as the stupid one amongst them but at the same time, his words sometimes carried wisdom. Although the others might have cared less about Michael's words, he took it seriously.

In a strange way, he stylishly agreed with Michael. There was a Judas but the boggling part was who is the Judas?

The Limousine came to a solemn stop and they alighted from the long vehicle. He decided to let Ariel remain with The Trainer and Rita in the Limo while the others sauntered into the tall building.

"Once again," he pronounced as they elegantly trailed in the reception room after vigorous inspection by the securities outside. They progressed towards a young stunning lady. "We're meeting the Chief-in-Power, I don't need to remind you guys to be on your best behavior." He sternly declared before they approached the counter.

"Hi there!" He pitched alongside a wide grin.

"Doctor Roberts!" The lady exclaimed with a sweet smile playing on her lips.

"We have an appointment with Mr. Matthew Lancelot." He toned gently while she nodded as she checked through her system.

"Alright! Mr. Lancelot is ready to see you now. Please proceed to the elevator." She courteously responded.

"Thank you." He flashed her one final grin before proceeding to the elevator guided by hefty bodyguards. The door pinged open and they sauntered inside alongside the mandatory bodyguards.

As they progressed in silence, his nostrils picked a foul odour.

"Geez, who farted?!" Collins groaned.

"Sorry." Michael giggled but Doctor Roberts wriggled his head in embarrassment. He was at least thankful they had arrived their destination. The elevator pinged open and Collins quickly stormed out. Almost colliding with a lady by mistake.

"Good Morning, I'm Scarlett. Mr. Lancelot's personal assistant." The beautiful blonde courteously greeted. "Follow me, please." She chirped and they trailed behind her back alongside another set of guards.

"Of all places to let out your bomb, the elevator. Seriously!" Lola growled in a whisper behind Michael.

"He clearly lacks the definition of courtesy." Theodore remarked.

"I'm sorry, I just couldn't hold it in." Michael whispered.

"Please let's forget who farted and concentrate on our task ahead." Doctor Roberts cautioned before Scarlett quietly clicked the door open. Revealing a moderate size room with most of it's illumination from the seamless glass wall. One that revealed the beautiful city of York. There were hefty men positioned at every corner of the room. And a white large oval shaped table with black swivel chairs encompassing around it. One of them occupied by the one and only, Matthew Lancelot. The Chief-in-Power.

"Ah Mr. Roberts." Mr. Matthew teased with an obvious superficial smile.

"Matthew." Doctor Roberts mumbled with gritted teeth.

"Please let's be formal."

"Then it's Doctor Roberts." He retorted, secretly beginning to loathe himself for coming in the first place.

"Take a seat." Mr. Matthew gestured towards the empty swivels.

"So who are this people?"

"This are my employees." He replied with a tiny smile as he glanced across their faces. "Agents precisely."

"I see."

"This is Lola, Theodore, Marcus, Collins and Michael." He pointed to each of them respectively.

"Collins and Michael," Mr. Matthew peered suspiciously at them. Collins and Michael had the same expression too. Doctor Roberts began to wonder what kind of mischievous deeds both boys orchestrated.

"your faces look familiar."

"I'm afraid No." He quickly intervened with a nervous chuckle. Wherever Mr. Matthew knew them, he definitely knew it was no good.

"They just arrived Utopia two days ago."

Mr. Matthew still held his gaze against them and after long deliberation, words rolled out his mouth.

"I do hope your matter is urgent."

"Of course." Doctor heaved a sigh of relief.

"Then get to it. I don't have much time."

It took only grace for him not to glare at the Chief-in-Power.

"We're here because of the issue regarding the EMP. And as you very well know, I built it."

Mr. Matthew nodded.

"Ever since it's disappearance, I set up a team to find it's location. Although we haven't found it yet we found something else."

"Something else?" Mr. Matthew frowned.

"Yes." Doctor Roberts cleared his throat. "We have evidence and information that Timothy Chamelet is a mutant with strange abilities. He also stole the EMP and is leading a mutant group of terrorist called The Revolution against Utopia in less than two weeks--"

Doctor Roberts frowned as Mr. Matthew burst into a gentle laughter. One so mocking and infuriating at the same time.

"Ah Doctor Roberts," Mr. Matthew said as he gently swayed on his swivel.

"you and your silly jokes."

Doctor Roberts jaw clenched and his breaths stormed out heavy.

"I don't crack jokes." He icily asserted.

"Then you better get to the real issue." Mr. Matthew retorted.

"You don't believe me!"

"Do you expect me to?" Mr. Matthew huffed.

"Yes Timothy Chamelet is a major suspect behind the EMP's disappearance but the fact

That Timothy Chamelet is a mutant with POWERS and is the leader of a terrorist group of mutants planning to attack my continent in less than two weeks. How is that sensible even for you?!"

He was about to reply with insulting utterances when Collins suddenly interjected.

"It would have been better if we had just followed Doctor Roberts plan rather than listen to this foolish man." Collins blurted and Doctor Roberts head went blank.

"Collins!" Lola cautioned in a whisper.

"Dude, it's the Chief-in-Power you're talking to." Michael whispered too. Doctor Roberts gulped his saliva as he witnessed the priceless look on Mr. Matthew's face. And the threatening glares the guards instantly wore.

"I don't care!" Collins ferociously spat out.

"This idiot here thinks we would travel all the way here to crack JOKES!" The Teleporter poised his right hand at Mr. Matthew. But Doctor Roberts still continued to watch dumbstruck.

"Wait a minute! Now I recall you. You too Michael!" Mr. Matthew barked against Collins and Michael.

"Both of you were the fools who stole my money at the old casino club!"

"Oh geez." Doctor Roberts heard Collins whisper.

"Ehh I'm sure you must be mistaken, Mr. Matthew." Doctor Roberts nervously chattered.

"I'm not mistaken Doctor Roberts. My continent is impenetrable and I've had enough of your nonsense for one day!." Mr. Matthew roared with fierce eyes that only made Doctor Roberts lose his tongue.

"And as for you two, be ready to spend your eternity in jail. Arrest them!" The Chief-in-Power declared.

"Mr. Matthew wait!" Doctor Roberts screeched, glaring at Collins as a warning not to do something stupid.

"This meeting is over!" The man avowed. "Only because of the respect I have for you, I didn't arrest you and the rest of your minions." He acclaimed while the guards roughly handled Collins and Michael.

"Doctor Roberts you're not going to let them go to jail, are you?!" Lola pitched behind him as they stepped out of the elevator. Progressing across the large reception room.

"Firstly, they stole the Chief-in-Power's money, do you even know how heinous that crime is?" Theodore answered. "Secondly, even though the man was irritating it doesn't still warrant Collins nonsensical audacity to open his filthy mouth and insult him. They're definitely going to rot in jail."

"We have no choice but to use the original plan." Doctor Roberts stated without a glance as he progressed.

"Can't we try another persuasive method to get the Chief-in-Power to listen?" Lola suggested in a worried tone but Doctor Roberts huffed.

"We hate each other. I'm sorry but there's no other way." He replied as his fist curled.

"I need to let some steam off." He added and then paced away from them in anger. There were already handful of problems, taking the two idiots out of jail was one he didn't want.

As Marcus watched Doctor Roberts storm off in anger, his phone beeped. He slipped it out of his pockets and a smile played on his lips. It was a message from Kira, suggesting they hang out.

"We have to do something." Lola's voice jolted him back to harsh reality. Their problems were increasing daily but here he was smiling at a lady he just met message.

"We can't let things go down south. Doctor Roberts is angry, Collins and Michael are going to jail, an explosion is happening in days and nobody gives a shit about it." She gestured in a tiredly fashion as they halted. He could also tell the extreme worry blooming in her voice.

"Uhm about that," he stuttered.

"I've got somewhere to be at urgently." He gestured to his phone nervously.

"Yeah me too, I seriously need some fresh air to clear my mind." Theodore added nonchalantly while Lola rewarded them with an icy glare.

"So you guys are going to leave amidst this dramas." She questioned in disbelief.

"Technically, the explosion is still days away. Our problems will be sorted out before it happens don't worry." Theodore casually shrugged her off before walking towards the exit door.

"I guess I'll see you later then?" Marcus added in an overly anxious tone as she maintained her glare. And when she said nothing he quietly left. Choosing to calm himself with the bitter truth.

The explosion is still days away. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
