Chapter 40: Chapter 40

"arrghh it was so funny!" Collins screeched as he staggered into the living room alongside Michael. Doctor Roberts could easily perceive the alcohol that reeked off them.

"You should have seen his face!" Michael joined his friend in his foolish laughter. Their hands were loosely clutching into their bottles of alcohol as they wobbled to the blue couch.

"Priceless!!" Collins blared as he gestured.

"Oh hi guys." He greeted in his drunken state, waving like a child which irked Doctor Roberts greatly.

"Isn't that Doctor Roberts?" Michael queried as he poised his right index finger towards him with his eyes lazily awake.

"For a split moment, I thought that was Dwayne Johnson." Collins let out a loud laugh causing Michael to join once again.

"I thought he was Frank Sinatra." Michael replied, laughter still minting in his words.

"Who is Frank Sinatra?" Collins hiccupped.

"Oh it's one artist from the 1900s Doctor Roberts listens to." Michael casually stated.

"Hmmm," Collins hiccupped again. "Frank Sinatra!" He let out a mocking laugh. And that was Doctor Roberts peak point, he was already angered enough. But the fact that they chose to mock his favorite artist was unforgivable. His palms curled into a fist and his teeth grinded against each other.

"Will you both get your tiny ass down!" He yelled and the boys burst into another laughter.

"Take a chill pill, Old man." Collins mocked as he thudded to the couch.

"Yeah, shouting increases the blood pressure you know." Michael added while he thudded beside his friend.

Doctor Roberts wriggled his head trying to calm the furiousness raging within him.

Collins suddenly farted.

"Dude!!" Michael yelled. "I can do better!" He giggled before farting too, louder and longer than Collins's.

"Oh God, you guys are something else!" Theodore growled as he clutched unto his nose. Blocking his nostrils.

Doctor Roberts heaved a sigh, he was at least thankful Theodore had returned back to his normal status. Earlier during the day.

But it still wasn't enough to allay his frustrations.

Marcus suddenly trotted into the room. Looking guiltily across their faces.

"I'm sorry I'm late."

"There's no need to be sorry because I'm sure you guys definitely enjoyed yourselves that you forgot the reason we came to Utopia in the first place!!" He raised his voice at Marcus who simply lowered his head as he relaxed beside Theodore.

"Please be calm." Rita gently soothed beside him and in a strange way, he listened. His breaths steadied and the rage fueling within him relatively died to an extent.

"I gave you guys yesterday off just like you asked but what did you all do today?" He remarked rhetorically. "Lola and Trevor went on a date and returned 2PM. Marcus look at you too, this is 10PM. I don't even wanna talk about this two clowns there." He gestured at Collins and Michael reveling in an irking giggle.

"Now I'm beginning to regret ever bringing you guys here. I understand that Utopia is a fine place to live in and there can be distractions but lives are at stakes here. In less than two weeks or so, this continent you guys are dancing to the tune of will be raided!" He avowed and silence suddenly descended.

"We're sorry." Lola softly mentioned. His eyes streamed to her. Where she was seated with The Trainer and Ariel.

"Like I said before, there's no need to be sorry." He replied sternly. "Your apologies isn't going to bring back the time you all wasted."

"Now let's get to work!" He icily proclaimed. "Service!" He called and the TV instantly brightened, displaying the map of Utopia. He heaved another sigh to calm himself before approaching the TV.

"Utopia has fifty four districts. Amongst these states,

Oklahoma, Austria and York City." He pointed at each places marked X on the map. "This are the three places, The Revolution are planning to render useless."

"Why?" Theodore asked.

"Oklahoma and Austria is where majority of Utopia's military and other armed forces are concentrated in." He explained. "York City is the capital of Utopia, central of power and I'm not talking Government powers alone, I'm talking about electricity."

Lola and Theodore frowned.

"Every source of power that makes Utopia up and running is generated from York City nuclear power plant." He gestured at an area in the map.

"Now here lies the big problem." He heaved a sigh.

"Once The Revolution has successfully passed border lines of Utopia and the EMP is activated. Oklahoma and Austria's military communication will be cut off from York City, leaving the entire continent defenseless. And the worst part of it all is that York City's nuclear power plant will go berserk due to instability."

"The armed forces wouldn't even know that the continent is under attack." Theodore exclaimed from horrific awe. Doctor Roberts nodded.

"And the Nuclear power plant could outburst into an explosion." Lola's eyes widened as the words left her mouth.

"An enormous one, in fact." Doctor Roberts whispered enough for them to hear. He could understand the terror that would be looming within them. So he retained silence, patiently waiting for them to overcome their shock.

"S-so what's the plan?" Marcus stuttered. Doctor Roberts waved his hand across the screen and an image of Mr. Matthew Lancelot brightly displayed.

If it had been under a different circumstance, he would have laughed at the way their jaw dropped.

"The Chief-in-Power?" Theodore queried.

"What role has he got in this?" Lola quizzically spluttered. Doctor Roberts heaved a sigh briefly recalling the bad blood he shared with the man.

"Collins isn't this man familiar?" Michael tucked at Collins who was slowly drifting to sleep.

"A tourist or maybe we saw him in a movie." Collins chattered while his eyes were partially awake.

"You're probably right." Michael replied but Doctor Roberts wriggled his head. He wondered what mischievous things they were up to during the day.

"The Chief-in-Power controls all six continents. And my thesis is that, The Revolution are precisely after him."

"Why?" Theodore asked.

"Because whoever seats on that chair becomes the most powerful person in the world. He or she will have the forces, the economy, name it all, at their calling." He explained. "Now just imagine if The Revolution takes over, they can literally do and undo." He pursed his lips.

"I thought of informing him about the unfortunate situation of things but then again, that will be very illogical of me." He flashed them a smile that didn't last the next second. "Hence, I decided our mission is to save the Chief-in-Power at any cost."

"So that's the plan?" Theodore queried with a frown.

"We're going risk our lives protecting the most powerful man in the world? Are you forgetting that millions of lives could be lost?!" Lola pitched. Her dissatisfaction and anger clearly obvious in her tone.

"I am well aware of that. But you see in the game of Chess, sacrifices have to be made before you can win." He replied calmly knowing a drama could soon outburst if he didn't choose his words carefully.

"Wow Doctor Roberts!" Lola clapped as a mocking gesture. "So letting millions of people die is your justified reason!" She avowed while as her head danced.

"Of course not! But let's be logical with ourselves. We can't save everyone." He responded.

"But we can at least try rather than risk our lives for a man who has all the protection he can get!" She vehemently disagreed. And Doctor Roberts sighed.

"The Chief-in-Power is totally defenseless once the EMP is activated!" He raised his voice as he gestured.

"And so are the people too!" She retorted.

"I know that!" He proclaimed.

"Then why are you hatching such atrocious plan?!" She fired back.

"Because the Chief-in-Power has the codes to nuclear missiles that can detonate on Area X, Heathers, Rivernea, Republic of Africa and New Canada!!" He yelled in return, unable to contain his furiousness. Silence immediately descended except Collins loud snore.

"Oh. My. God." Marcus gasped.

"Why would they do such abominable thing?" Theodore exasperated as his gaze lowered to the floor.

"You have no idea what the government will do to stay in power." He replied with an heavy sigh following suit.

"But there must be some way to save people and the Chief-in-Power, Doctor Roberts." Lola proposed pleadingly.

"Look!" Michael announced in his drunken state. "Let's just follow Doctor Roberts plan. He's always right."

"Shut up!!" The team chorused.

"Doctor Roberts, please." Lola pleaded again. He tucked his hands into his lab coat pockets. His teeth gritted and his breaths stormed out heavy until he sighed.

"I knew this would happen." He finally mumbled. "Which is why I had arranged an appointment with the Chief-in-Power before hand. First thing tomorrow morning, we're all going to his office and see what we can do regarding the citizens."

Lola heaved a sigh of relief.

"And please, we are all dressing in suits. Goodnight." He stated sternly before threading up the stairs to his room. Dealing with the team alone was enough to wear him down.

##########

"Wow Doctor Roberts, never thought of the day I'd see you without your Lab Coat." The Trainer voiced as he approached the Doctor and Rita by the white limo.

"You know how Mr. Matthew is." The Doctor chuckled.

"And here comes our family." Rita smiled and they all turned to the mansion where the team emerged. His jaw dropped as his eyes mirrored the stunning suits befitting each of their bodies while they approached.

Their suits were a blazing black and all he could gawk at was Lola. Her stunning matching stiletto high heel and her neatly braided hair.

"Mamma Mia!" He muttered but before further comments could be passed, his phone beeped. And his smile faded.

"Uhm Doctor Roberts, please excuse me. I need to use the restroom for a brief moment." He stated while the Doctor nodded.

He briskly stormed into the building and looked around suspiciously. He headed for the TV. Double tapping it's screen so it came to life. He peered around again before deactivating the house entire CCTV cameras.

"Hey man!" He almost jumped as he turned to Michael who grinned like a child.

"Ah I need to use the restroom." Michael groaned before trotting up the stairs.

The Trainer heaved a sigh of relief before trotting up the stairs and into his room. His phone beeped again and he picked it.

"Tomorrow is the D-Day. Be ready." The thick voice sounded before the phone call ended abruptly.

He sauntered to his safe. Unravelled the briefcase which revealed a bomb and a detonator. He trotted down the stairs whilst reviewing the room suspiciously. Once again, he approached the TV, placing the already set bomb behind the Nano-Led.

"Phew that was one long moment in the toilet." Michael giggled as he trailed down the stairs and to the exit.

He watched Michael leave through the door before activating the CCTV cameras. He heaved a sigh of relief and then stepped outside where Michael engaged in a conversation with the others.

"So guys I read the Bible yesterday." He heard Michael say amidst the team.

"It was about Jesus and his twelve disciples. Honestly, it broke me to see Judas betray Jesus. But I also learnt one more lesson."

The Trainer frowned.

"And that is?" Lola asked.

"That in every gathering, there's always a Judas!" Michael answered.

"What are you saying now?" Theodore rolled his eyes.

"That there's a Judas amongst us?" He scoffed.

"Yes!" Michael answered.

"Once again, you've started with your nonsense." Marcus remarked before entering into the limo.

The Trainer heaved another sigh of relief. Secretly happy none of them took Michael's words seriously. At the same time, he wondered if Michael caught him in his act. Either ways, things were going according to plan.
