Chapter 42: Chapter 42
"I need to see Mr. Lancelot. It's urgent." Lola growled at the receptionist who simply rewarded her with a smile. One Lola knew was superficial.
"You have no appointment with the Chief-in-Power. I'm sorry ma'am but that's not possible." The lady courteously responded but it only dosed Lola's infuriation. A catastrophe is about to befall Utopia and none of her team members seemed to care about it. She breathed heavily. Sharp with threats blooming in her eyes.
"I. Said," She inched her head closer as her palms curled into a fist on the table. "I. Need. To. See. Him now!" She bellowed while the lady startled. Her eyes twitching in fear. Her lips parted but only air toured out.
"Y-you have to leave now, ma'am." The lady finally let out shaky words. "Or else I'll call the security." She avowed and Lola took steps backwards. She couldn't contain it any longer. The anger intertwined with Electricity coursing throughout her body. She reviewed her environment where the guards looked prepared to handle her.
"Actually," she bellowed with a stone cold face while her body gradually gleamed with traces of orange lightening over her entirety.
"You'll need to call an ambulance!" She blared and her eyes flashed a shiny shade of orange before letting the charges storm out of her body. Long blue strokes escaped from different dimensions of her body striking every person that breathes in the large room down.
She breathed heavily for seconds while she approached the elevator. As it progressed upwards, she knew there would be guards already stationed at the door.
The Elevator pinged open and just as she predicted, they were all aiming their rifles at her.
"Put your hands in the air!!" One of them chorused but she sinisterly grinned. Letting another wave of lightening even greater than before blast through them. Rifles went separate ways, bodies scattered unconsciously across the hallway. All she did was walk gingerly amidst them.
"You!" Mr. Matthew arose sharply. Blaring in disbelief and horror as she smashed open the door with her heels.
"Get your worthless ass down and listen!" She icily commanded as she struck him with long bolt of electricity. His body shook vehemently as he jolted back to his swivel.
"Now if you know you don't want to die from electrocution, get your garbage security off my tail!" She huffed as she neared his desk, ferociously threatening him with her eyes gleaming a bright shade of orange.
"Rico!" He called through his intercom "Stand down. No one should come into my office." He ordered while he peered suspiciously at her.
"Now that's better." She grinned sinisterly before relaxing to a swivel opposite him.
"You're a mutant!" He spat out in disdain, gently rubbing his chest. The area she struck him.
"The Revolution is attacking in few days and they are coming for you, your city and your beloved nuclear codes." She stated as he continued to eye her with skepticisms. But she wavered not, regardless. If brute force was the only way needed to convince the Chief-in-Power for lives to be saved, then she wouldn't hesitate.
"How do you know about the codes?" Mr. Matthew frowned.
"Oh I know a lot more than you can imagine!" She retorted while he huffed.
"You and Doctor Roberts are totally insane!" He blurted.
"Once again, your ego has taken over your brain!" She growled.
"You better watch your tongue, young lady. I'm the Chief-in-Power." He threatened.
"And I'm a mutant who can toast the life out of you." She bellowed.
"I don't know what you and Doctor Roberts stand to gain from this but I know one thing for sure." He avowed as he gestured his hands dangerously towards her.
"Utopia is impenetrable, I have the finest armies enough to handle crazy mutants like you!" The way he declared those words with so much pride, irked her so much that she almost electrocuted him. She pinched the area between her eyebrow, puzzling on the best way to convince this man.
"Lives are at stakes here! Doctor Roberts have been working tirelessly to save lives but here you are foolishly ruining it all." She inadvertently muttered, unable to think straight of something reasonable.
"Actually, if there's anybody the people should be scared of, it's Doctor Roberts and craps like your kind." He retorted. Lola's eyes exclaimed and her jaw clenched. Her palms curled into a fist, her heart thumped abnormally and her body shivered from another wave of electricity steering within her.
"Mutants are a stain to the society." He acclaimed disdainfully.
"They are a disease and they should all be rotting in Area X for all I care!!" He spat out in disgust.
"I don't know what Doctor Roberts brainwashed you with but If anyone is going to save lives," he gently arose with his palms resting on the desk as he steered his head closer.
"it's going to be perfectly fit humans, not some transmogrified craps!"

"Ahh who knew prison could be so fun!" Michael blurted as he played with his --- yo-yo on his bunk.
Collins glared sharply at him, another wave of anger and disappointment smashing his soul hard. He wondered where his friend even got the ---
"You call being locked in a cell fun?!" He growled while Michael wore an innocent expression like a child. "Are you this stupid?!" He barked while Michael pouted.
"All these could have been averted if you listened to me last night." His friend stated.
"We were drunk last night, how do you expect me to recognize it was that foolish man in the picture." He retorted as he banged his shoe against the metal door.
"That's not an excuse, you're the reason we're here in the first place." Michael answered. "If you hadn't open your dumb mouth to insult him perhaps he wouldn't have recognized us. Let alone lock us in a cell."
Collins fists clenched while he hyperventilated. Fire always burned in his heart anytime he recalled Mr. Matthew's mannerism of speaking. And if he was being honest with himself, he didn't regret a word he said. Instead, he thirsted to break the man's head with a bat.
"We just have to wait for Doctor Roberts to come save the day." Michael muttered with a mocking grand gesture.
"Well I'm tired of waiting! It's been over ten hours already." He screeched as he kicked the wall furiously. But it only caused pain to shoot up in his toes.
"Prison break. Is that what you're suggesting?" Michael stopped playing his -- as he sat up on his bunk.
Collins grinned sinisterly as he tucked at his blazing suit even though it needed no adjustment. Suddenly an alarm blared throughout the building. One which signalled an emergency. Collins could hear the agitated voices of policemen decking up guns and scurrying about.
"What's happening?" Michael asked.
"We'll have to find out!" He responded.
"The CCTV up there will catch us using our powers." Michael's eyes trailed to the the camera rooted at a corner of the ceilings.
Collins glared at the camera for minutes.
"Give me your yoyo." He whispered while Michael placed it in his left palm. Collins gripped the object hard before throwing it at the camera's lens.
"Now let's get the hell out of here." He grinned as he prepared his body to teleport back to the mansion.
"Can't you teleport me?" Michael groaned beside him.
"Dude, you know I can't. Just activate your invisibility and phase through this Goddamn door!" He chattered.
"I'll see you outside." Michael nodded before turning invisible. Collins took a final breath before vanishing into a shady orange portal. His eyes were quickly welcomed by the bright lights of the living room. The Shining abode V3. He was about to storm up the stairs when his eyes found Doctor Roberts and Rita focused on the TV.
He frowned.
"Doctor Roberts." He mumbled but before any of them could respond. A loud bang raked through the building. An explosion that flung him into the unknown. The fires, the acrid smell of smoke, the broken concretes and the ringing in his ears was all his consciousness registered before slipping into the void. Cold and dark.
