Chapter 24: Chapter 24

Dixon opened his eyes to find Maeve watching him intensively, he rubbed his hands over his eyes. And yawned. Her eyes were still fixed on him, and with the look of it, he thought she didn’t sleep at all.

“What’s wrong?”

“Did you watch me sleep?”

He asked, sitting up.

“I couldn’t sleep at night, cause you keep snoring so loud.”

“I don’t snore.” He sounded unsure.

“I left my room to come check what’s wrong with you, I thought you were bueing suffocated or something.”

“No way.”

“You do, like this.” She made a disgusting snoring sound.

“No way!” Dixon exclaimed.

“How could you know, you’re already deep wonderland..” she made the snoring sound again. And laughed.

“Just like that.”

“You’re kidding..”

“Of course I’m not.” She muffled a laugh. She grab her by the waist and began tickling her. She laughed, wiggling in his arms.

“Stop it.” She giggles.

“Not until you tell me the truth. I didn’t snore right?”

“You sure did.” She laughed, he keep tickling her while she laughed and eventually got a way to slip out of his hold, she jumped down from the bed, running downstairs, Dixon follows, running after her.

“Stop right there!” He yelled.

She ran.

“If I get you, I won’t show mercy.”

“You snores.” She did the sound again, Dixon couldn’t help but laugh. He reached out to her and caught her. Just beside the couch. She squeals in his arms. While he held her down. And turned her to face him, taking her unaware with a heart warming kiss. She still doesn’t know how to respond yet, this was the second time he was doing this. He sneak his hands down to her waist and pull her closer to himself. His body was warm, against hers, which she knew was quite cold, she melt his hands, her knee weakened, she stop, resisting and let him, do whatever he wants, his mouth still on her hers, and they moved in a slow and perfect rhythm. He pulled her off her feet. Pin her back to the wall, that her legs were wrapped around his torso. His lips went down to her neck, giving it a small bite.

She let out a low moan.

What the hell was that sound, why was she making sure sound.

He went up to kissing her lips again, and moved his hands into her shirt. They stopped. He pulled back. Withdrawing his hands. They are looks of disappointment I her eyes.

Why did he stop.

He leaned into her and smiled. And kiss her, and this time more intense than the first. Her grip tighten around his neck. He took her to the couch, with their lips still I hot embrace.

Kissing her down to the nape of her neck. She curled her toes. Fighting with the sweetness in her stomach, and her lower region, whatever that was.

He stopped kissing her and placed his forehead on hers.

“Good morning..” he smiled.

And peck her cheeks. Hold her closer to himself. He turned her to face him, with his hands wrapped around her, she snuggled into his chest and shut her eyes. She wanted to remain like this, in his arms forever. And slowly she drift off to sleep. Well she wasn’t lying when she said she couldn’t sleep at night, now she was fast asleep in his arms.

Dixon watched her fell asleep on his arms, he kissed her forehead, and tucked her loose hair carefully behind her ears. He removed the bobble hat from her head and saw a few strands of white hair.

“What’s going on with you?”

*****

“Sleepy head, I made you some tea.” Dr. Green said, sitting on the bed. She stare at him. And everywhere.

“Where is Dixon?”

“He left.”

She sat up, and took the tea from his hands. Taking a little sip.

“Gosh, it taste bad.”

“It will help. Drink up.”

“You added blood to it.”

He only nodded.

“Don’t tell me it’s Dixon’s.”

He looked shocked he hadn’t expect her to figure that out in less than a minute. Though this was temporary calm her down, there’s no telling it could help her be human again. Dixon has questioned him about the white hair, when he came in, he had to lie, it was just a symptom, he doesn’t know if he believes him.

“He asked about the hair, I think he saw them. He wanted me to tell him, why you were having white hair.”

“That’s not what I’m asking, is it Dixon blood or not.”

He looked down at his fingers. And looked at the ceiling.

“Answer me!” She brawled.

He flinched. The fear in his eyes were evident, her eyes turned black that instant. Her face, having a totally different look.

“Yessss.” He spluttered. And gulp nervously. Her eyes were back to normal, she looked away from him.

“You were scared, weren’t you?”

“I was.” He answered sincerely.

“It could be more scary, if nothing is being done before then.”

“I’m sorry, I’m still looking for a way, the book at Lucas study, was burnt. There could have been something. But now, I can’t anything except to keep you under in control..”

“For how long?”

“Only for a way while.”

“You made him, do it?”

“No I didn’t, he force me to do it, had a blood bank. Store up. Just in case you might need some.”

“He shouldn’t have done that.” She wipe the blood falling from her eyes.

“Will he be fine?”

“He rested for awhile before he left. But he would be kinda weak today, he need a proper rest.”

She sniffs.

“You should tell him.”

She shook her head.

“I can’t.”

“He deserves to know.”

“What difference does it make.”

“You just have to tell him.”

“Give me some time, I’ll tell him.” She wipe it off completely with her hands.

“How long have I got?”

“Three more weeks. It could come earlier or late, you just got to be prepared.” He stood up and approached the the calendar and the number of days she had written down. And ticked a day.

“Still not enough but it’s still something, you got cherish every moment you’ve got from now.”

“You don’t have to tell me that.” He took his seat back on the bed.

“Sorry about earlier.”

“It’s okay. I understand.”

“Weren’t you scared I was gonna eat you up”

“A little. Just a little. I was saying my last prayer.”

“What was it?” She chuckled.

“I kept some dollars randomly on my desk and didn’t get to keep them before I came here. I was praying about it.”

She laughed. Dr. Green joined her.

“You ain’t taking that with you when you’re gone.”

“Well, It would at least be in my cabinets where I kept the rest.”

“You’re one hell of a greedy man.”

He chuckled. And she smiled and place her head on his shoulders. Dr. Green exhale.

“Don’t feel it all alone, Maeve that’s why we’re here, lean on us sometimes. We’ll help you carry on.” She smiled and hugged him.

Dixon came down from the car, staring at the building, and looked at the address, this was it, where the agency is. He put on his sun glasses, and began walking into the building. He had to get this done and run over to meet her, he was missing her already, he wanted to spend every moment with her, and not leave his sight. He was getting too addicted to her, which was bad, he could barely control himself this morning, he wanted to go beyond kissing, and he shouldn’t do that, she doesn’t even know anything about that stuff, would it be as if he was taking advantage of her, because she has no idea, what they were doing. He doesn’t know where all these feelings came from. Now he can’t live a day without seeing her, his body and heart longs for her.

His alien.

And this alien was changing, he doesn’t know, what or who she’s turning into. Something was wrong but he doesn’t know what. Green won’t tell him, she won’t tell him either. And there doesn’t seems to be anything he could do to help. He still feel a little dizzy, Green had asked him to stay but he couldn’t, he had to get this done. Once and for all, though he still has doubt he would be signed completely, he had to hurry up and go home. Back to see her again.

He was thinking of a perfect place for a date, which he had plan to take her to, tomorrow night. A place she would love..

He gets into the elevator and just when the door was about to close someone came in, taking a spot beside Dixon, Dixon hadn’t seen his face cause he was covered in a hood and a face cap. He was tall and hefty. Probably works out a lot. He stood erect, not staring at the man beside him, Dixon stuffed his hands in his pocket and elsewhere other than the man beside him. Wondering why he was feeling shivers all of sudden.

The elevator dings and they came out, Dixon watched him walked to the other way. And he went ahead, taking the right.

“This was it.” He knocked on the door. The door opened right after his first knock.

“Dixon Ambrose, was expecting you!” Mr Jackson said. And opened the door, wider so he could get in, Dixon step into the office. And halted in his track, seeing the deadly look the man stopping him had on. He smile nervously, cause he doesn’t know what to do at the moment.

“Let him in, Engel.”

Engel glare at him.

“Having him in here, would ruin the business that’s still trying to grow, Let’s just end it here.”

“So what do you suggest we do?”

“We can let him work there, if we sign him, bad business, nobody will stream out music, it’s bad business.”

“How about you tell that to the boss.”

Dixon looked between Jackson and Engel, Jackson appears to be older. Engel would be a little older than he was, maybe just two or three years differences, but his size make he looks smaller.

Engel throw his hands in the air, stepping aside so he could come in.

“This is nonsense. He hasn’t even prove his innocence yet. And we hiring him, Yeah right, what the boss says..” he sat down on the chair. Jackson sat on his desk and began working. He lifted his eyes and saw Dixon still standing by the door.

“You should seat, ignore Engel, the boss would be here soon.”

He was planning a on doing just that. He sauntered in with his very move been watched by Engel. What the fuck was his problem...

“You should at least give him so tea, Engel.”

Engel scoffed.

“No I’m fine, when would the boss be here?”

“Quite soon, he was supposed to be here... by now.” He throw a glance at Engel, with a hard glare.

“You believe I did it..”

“Right. There’s no prove you didn’t.”

“And what if there is?”

“Where is it then? Everyone still sees you for who you are, a murderer.”

“I’m the prove, and you’ll eventually got to see who the real murderer is.”

Engel didn’t looked satisfied.

“Just a little more time, but that wouldn’t stop me, from doing what I had to do. Neither would I try to convince you I didn’t do it, either you believe it or not, I don’t care anymore.”

“But you’re here, to sing again, isn’t that a risk, you know it won’t work.” He spoke less harshly now and lean on the chair.

“I don’t even need it.”

“Then why’re you here?”

“Because she asked me to.”

“Who?”

“Ne’er mind.”

He stood up from the couch.

“Maybe coming here was a mistake after all.”

He Walked to the door. The door opened when he was about to walk out. And the face he saw made him took a step, back.

He blinked.

“What...Bruce!”

“Hello Brother.”
