Chapter 8: Chapter 8

We ended up taking a nap for a couple of hours since it was early in the morning when we got to the hotel. We ordered breakfast to the villa since neither of us could be bothered to go to the buffet. "What do you want to do today?"

My eyes left my phone and I looked up at Thiago across the table on the deck outside. "Nothing big, I'm still pretty tired after the wedding and traveling too." Thiago nodded as he sipped his coffee causing me to scrunch my nose up. "How can you drink black coffee, it's disgusting."

He chuckled and put his cup down. "It's an acquired taste tesoro." I rolled my eyes at his response and put my phone down. "How did you think we would be able to spend a whole week here together alone without killing each other?"

"It's easy, as soon as we have sex again you'll go back to being nice so that you can have me again, you won't want to kill me." I couldn't help but laugh at Thiago's blunt statement which was far off from the truth. "It's not going to happen Thiago. Remember what you said to me before we left Italy?" I attempted to make my question sound like a joke but it came out a little more angry than I intended it to. "I said sorry for that Sophie, you can't keep bringing up things from the past."

I sighed and stood up, feeling drained and tired from

arguing with Thiago over and over again. "Whatever Thiago." I went to walk past him but he quickly stood to his feet and took my hand before I could and pulled me towards him. I felt his lips on mine before I could speak, he kissed me gently whilst one of his hands went around my waist. The kiss lasted a couple of seconds before he pecked my lips one more time and mumbled against them. "I'm sorry Sophie."

I didn't move away from him but I shook my head. "No Thiago." His grip tightened on my waist and he pulled me flush against him. He kissed me once again, one of his hands moving down to my ass, he gripped it firmly causing a gasp to leave me my mouth. Thiago took this opportunity to slip his tongue into my mouth and I let out a light moan causing him to smirk into the kiss. I shouldn't have kissed him back but I couldn't help it, he's an amazing kisser. Eventually he pulled away from me for air and smirked. "Now?"

I rolled my eyes at him but a small smile made it's way onto my lips. "I hate you." He chuckled and pecked my lips one more time before letting go of me.After a few more kisses we decided to go to the beach. Thiago and I walked down to the beach which was a couple of minutes walk from our villa. When we got there it was completely empty, so it was just the two of us. We walked over to some sun loungers, Thiago stripped of his t-shirt and passed me the sun cream before I could even sit down. "Make sure you get it everywhere and rub it in properly." I frowned at him for a second before a smirk of my own formed on my face. I sat behind him on the sun lounger and sprayed the sun cream on to his back causing him to flinch.

"That's cold Sophie, you're meant to spray it into your hands first." I chuckled and sprayed it once more on the back of his neck causing him to curse under his breath. I started rubbing it into his back and shoulders which were strong and muscly, he also had a few tattoos on his back. I stood up and looked at Thiago. "Lie down." He rose an eyebrow at me questioningly but still did what I said to. I got on top of him and straddled his hips, I don't know where the boldness came from but I was enjoying it.

I sprayed the sun cream on his tattooed chest and abs before massaging it in. I let my hand trail slightly lower than it needed to causing Thiago to tense up and I smirked. "Having fun?" I nodded causing him to chuckle as my hands went over his abs. "Don't worry, it's all yours baby." My eyes met Thiago's when he said this and before we knew it we were on the way back to the villa, it was the first day of our holiday and I had already broken the promise I made to myself, I broke it quite a few times when we got back.

Thiago and I had been in Thailand for almost a week and it was our last night tonight, although he did say we were going to Bangkok for one night, I didn't really understand why but I didn't complain. Over the past week we got a lot closer than I thought we would, part of the reasoning was because we couldn't keep our hands off each other, and I mean, it was a massive problem. We did it everywhere; the bedroom, shower, living room, pool even the beach when we were alone at night. That was something I couldn't explain, I know it happened very fast, but as soon as Thiago was away from the mafia and away from Italy he was a completely different person. Yes he was still rude and arrogant but he wasn't cold, guarded and on edge like he usually is in Italy. Thiago opened up a lot more to me, we had proper conversations and hardly argued at all, apart from the petty arguments which we always have; I don't think those will be stopping any time soon.

We were currently walking along the beach after dinner, my hand was in Thiago's as we walked listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. "Why are we going to Bangkok tomorrow?" I glanced over at Thiago who's tan had increased from all the sunbathing we did, he was naturally tanned before we got here so it wasn't majorly different though. "Just to break up the journey back, I've always wanted to go there aswell so now seemed like the perfect time."

"Okay." I felt his thumb rubbing my hand causing me to smile, however my smile went away when the same thought I had been having all week came to mind. "Thiago.." He hummed in the response so I decided to ask him something which had been bothering me for the last few days. "When we get back to Milan are you going to go back to being your usual self?" He stopped walking and let out a small sigh, it went quiet for a moment before he spoke.

"Sophie you know I won't always be like this with you, on holiday it's fine because it's just the two of us and I know you're safe with me here. But when we're in Milan I'm always on edge, there's always a chance you could be in danger at home if someone found out where we live, or I could get called away for an emergency so I always have to be on my guard and ready. That's just always been my life, I don't know how to change it."

I placed my free hand on his cheek and gave him a soft smile. "You don't have to worry about me in Milan. I'll be fine." He shook his head, frustration clearly evident on his face, he stepped back and pushed my hand away. "No you're not safe, you don't understand. Everyone in my mafia has a duty to respect and protect you because you're my wife, for anyone else outside they would want to hurt you to get to me. You're always in danger." I frowned at him, this conversation became a lot more tense than I thought it would be, we were both getting more agitated by the second.

"But you said the house is safe Thiago, I wouldn't be living with you if it wasn't, and I sure as hell won't ever have any kids there if it's even slightly dangerous." He nodded and ran a hand through his hair. "It is, it's as safe as it possibly can be, but that's not always enough. Nothing has ever happened to myself or any of my family at home but there's always a chance it could."

I looked out at the ocean, trying to calm myself down before I spoke to Thiago. "So what you're saying is that you're going to go back to being cold and horrible to me because you're constantly worried that your 'job' is going to get me hurt? That makes no sense." He rolled his eyes and started walking away from me.

"If you can't understand then just be quiet Sophie, don't give me your bullshit comments." I scoffed as I watched him walk away angrily. "You're a mafia boss and you still throw tantrums!" He stopped walking and turned around to glare at me. "It's not a fucking tantrum, I'm trying to get away from you before I lose my shit."

I nodded in agreement and started walking in the direction of our villa. "Maybe you should get away from me." I knew Thiago was watching me walk away but I didn't turn around,

I just kept walking.

~Sophie's POV~

I completely ignored Thiago the following morning, apart from when I told him I wanted to go straight home and that I didn't want to go anywhere else on our 'honeymoon' with him, since he was planning to go to Bangkok. We checked out of the hotel in Koh Samui and drove to the airport in a tense silence.

I got on the plane whilst Thiago went to speak to the pilot, he then got on the plane with me and once again sat as far away from me as possible. I decided to take a nap since this was going to be a long flight back to Italy and I was already bored. Thiago's jet had small tv's to watch movies and stuff but I couldn't be bothered. I was too annoyed to do that.

The argument last night left us both pissed off and annoyed for the rest of the night and in the morning. I don't really understand why Thiago was annoyed, it's not like his point was even valid. He could still worry about me and be nice at the same time, and he wouldn't have to worry about me if he didn't put me in this situation in the first place. It's all his fault.

The pilots announcement that we were about to land woke me up from my nap. I frowned in confusion when I checked the time to see it had only been an hour since we left the island. Once I realised what was going on, it was too late and the pilot was flying over the city of Bangkok towards the airport. To say was I was furious would be an understatement. I was absolutely livid.

"Thiago." He glanced over at me from the drivers seat of the Mercedes Benz he had rented, before looking back at the road. "Sophie my ears are still a little funny from the flight, let's talk when we get to the hotel." I frowned but didn't say anything else. My ears were fine, and it was only a domestic flight there was no way his ears would be affected from the height. He just didn't want to talk to me.

Thiago pulled up to a huge hotel and straight away our doors were opened for us. I picked up my handbag and smiled at the man who opened my door for me. "Welcome to Bangkok." I said thank you as I passed him and followed Thiago inside to check in.

We made it up to our room just as the sun was coming up. We went inside the huge suite and my eyes widened at the luxuriousness. "Do you like it?" I nodded at Thiago as he directed someone to put our bags in the bedroom. "It's amazing."

I sat on the couch and sighed closing my eyes deciding to tell Thiago something which had been on my mind since we got off the plane. "I hate you Thiago."

Even though I was being serious I heard him chuckle from somewhere and mumble something but I couldn't make out what he said.

"I'm going to the gym then we'll go and get some breakfast." I nodded whilst keeping my eyes closed. Thiago went into the bedroom to change and I decided to look around the living room at all the different things. There was an Apple Tv, a fancy music system and a mini bar. I was looking through the price list at the mini bar when Thiago came out the bedroom dressed in sweatpants and a t-shirt, his muscles clearly on show.

"Are you hungry already?" I shook my head and looked over at him. "I was just looking at the food, it's pretty expensive though." He frowned and came over to me, he picked up the price list and rolled his eyes after a moment before throwing it down. "That's fucking ridiculous." I laughed at his reaction. "Don't touch anything Sophie. It's a rip off." He shook his once again before walking to the door. "I'll be back in 40 minutes then I'll take a shower and we can go." I nodded and he left the room, leaving me on my own.

I decided to take a shower and get ready for the rest of the day. I was sitting at the dressing table blow drying my hair when Thiago came back. He took a little longer than he said he would but I think that had something to do with his phone since he was glaring at it when he walked in. I was waiting for my curler to heat up so I took the chance to admire his body, he was glistening with sweat and his muscles were a little more prominent from being worked out. My eyes travelled over his toned chest and down his stomach where a faint outline of his abs was visible. "Having fun Sophie?" I jumped at the sound of his voice, he didn't look up at me but he was smirking. I turned back towards the mirror and started curling the ends of my hair.

"Go and take a shower, you stink." He chuckled and made his way over to me as I put my curler down to avoid any accidents. He stood behind me and looked at me in the mirror, he leaned down so that his face was next to my ear. "But you smell so good." I bit my lip to control myself, I may hate him right now but I can't deny the effects he has on my body. He met my eyes in the mirror and smirked before kissing my cheek causing a blush to instantly rise on my face. He chuckled at this and stood up. "You're cute."
