Chapter 63: Chapter 63

Chapter 62

Sofia Xanders ~

I looked at Ryan. Even though I was worried that there's a huge possibility this isn't going to work out, I trusted his words. After all, he has been making good use of his time here in the human world well enough to know things about my own people here that I don't. Unlike me who spends every second of being here raising my best-friend's daughter.

I nodded my head and changed my negative worries into positive hopes. Ryan must be right.

"I am here with Ryan McFlame." I shouted out. "I am here with Ryan McFlame! I am here with Ryan McFlame! The last phoenix and I am Sofia Xanders!"

I stared at the waters hoping to see someone just as Ryan had said but there was no one. Gar and Charlie kept dashing worried glances at me but I had no words for them.

"How is she holding up?" I asked turning to Gar.

"She's freezing. We have to get her out of here to somewhere she won't be so cold." Gar replied adjusting the cloth that he had placed over her.

"You're right. Let's give..."

"Mrs. A, what exactly are we waiting for?" Charlie asked me head still fixed towards the waters.

"Don't worry yourself, he'll be here soon. I know it." I said sounding so assuring as I rubbed my fingers on Elena's temple.

"You mean, them?" Charlie inquired pointing towards the waters.

I took a swift turn around and found a group of men who I suspect to be vampyres walking hastily in twos coming out of the water. They must be vampyres. They have to be. They got to land, to the place we are and a person dressed differently from the rest of them came forward to speak.

All except him went down on one knee with their hands behind their back.

"Your Majesty." "What a pleasant surprise." He bowed eyes locked on me. "You shouldn't be out here in the cold open night. Something unspeakable has happened in our home and now this world is exposed to new threats it has never seen before."

"I am Commander Samuel, general overseer of the affairs of the Blood Bank Number 20,896.B." His head still bowed.

"At ease. We need a portal to get us back home. It's a matter of great urgency. We need to make use of your coven's portal." I said getting up as I spoke confidently.

The commander has a black robe on. As black as coal. On his hands are scarlet gloves. The robe prevents me from seeing what he has on the inside. On his feet are foot wears that seemed to glow in a low light. They are probably enchanted.

"Of course. Anything for our dear Queen. Although I must warn you. A lot of things have occurred the last century there." Samuel said turning back to the waters digging his hands deep into the pocket of the robe.

"Let me worry about that. Take us to the portal, at once." I commanded and he obliged with a nod.

Century? What does he mean century? Oh my! I misunderstood the time laws between the two worlds. An hour here is seven there and not the other way around. We are way past Cassius meeting time.

"We don't have anymore time!!" I said sounding suddenly forceful.

"Of course. You'll need these." The commander said handing small plates of metal about six in number to me. "You mentioned being with the Phoenix leader but I don't see him anywhere. Wouldn't he be joining us?" walking away towards the waters.

"I'll explain as soon as we get to the supernatural world. It's... complicated." I said following him from behind.

"Put one each under your footwear, Your Majesty. Give the rest to your aquatainces. The elder witches in charge of the blood banks enchanted them when during the making of this blood bank some decades ago to enable us walk over the waters and they'll keep us hidden from sight while we do." Samuel declared in a halt. "Men, guard the queen with your lives. We are taking her home."

"May I ask who those are? You intend on taking humans to our world?" Samuel asked turning to Gar, Charlie and Elena. "Is she??"

"Yes. She's the trybrid child." "I know you're duty bound to protect me but these humans are trustworthy. She trusts them and so do I so it doesn’t matter that they aren't one of us." I concluded.

Samuel's eyes went widened and he looked back facing the waters as he led us off shore. Ever since the prophecy of a grand witch, the highest grade a witch can get in terms of magical capabilities, every creature has awaited the trybrid child. Having to finally set eyes on her must really be amazing for all of them.

Samuel took the first step on the waters then took a pause urging me to come along before he continued going forward. I gave Gar and Charlie two of the enchantments Samuel had given me and they placed it under their foot wears.

Gar took up Elena and carried her in his arms while Charlie held on to both their bags. Gar's way stronger than we give him credit for just by looking at how he carries Elena with ease proves it.

I took a step on the water and then another until I was right behind Samuel. I had no doubts that the enchantment would fail. I trust magic with all I can. Being an elder witch myself, I know the power of enchantments and they all work under the same principle- The Principle of Belief.

Magic can't do anything for someone who doesn't believe from the heart in it’s existence. I turned back and saw Gar and Charlie. They too are walking worry free on the waters. They must truly believe in magic for the enchantment to be working for them.

They're too young to be caught up in a thing like this but it's their wish and I can't stop them. To defeat Cassius, Elena is going to need or the loyal help available to her.

"Open the barriers!" Samuel ordered with a loud voice when we had walked and are now a few paces from the statue of liberty. "Welcome, your majesty, to Blood Bank Number 20, 896.B."
