Chapter 62: Chapter 62

Chapter 61

Elena Claw Wolfs ~

"Is something wrong?" I heard my mom ask with a calm tone.

"No!" I replied sharply still not wanting to admit my present state of weakness.

Sofia must've noticed I am taking to long to cast the spell as I usually would. I closed my eyes tighter and took a deep breath inwards. I snapped a finger against another and when I opened my eyes, I was expecting to be at Charlie's front porch but I wasn't.

"Just in time." I heard Charlie say resting a duffel bag behind his shoulder.

The spell didn't take me to him. Instead, it brought them to me. Charlie and Gar. They were standing in the living room few paces from where we stood in better clothes and a duffel bag in each hand.

"Since, we're here, I presume it's either you've found what you were looking for and we're here so you can lead us to it or was this unintentional?" Gar asked putting down his duffel bag on the ground and walked up to me with his hands in his pockets and eyes straight at mine.

"Ryan knows a portal. It isn't so easy to get to it but it's worth a shot." I replied trying to avoid the compelling orbs in his face.

I know Gar can tell when I'm trying to hide something so I didn't want him to see me trying to hide my weakness. Gar since had the ability to know when something was off with me just by looking into my eyes. Charlie walked up to me with Gar's bag in hand.

"Speaking of Ryan, where is he? You said the lycans wouldn't do him any harm." Charlie spoke up looking around. "We have to get going. Time's running out."

"I'm in here." Ryan said but neither Gar nor Charlie could hear him.

"He's... Ryan's in the cup." I said bashfully pointing to the cup in Sofia's hands.

Gar and Charlie dashed confused looks at each other and then walked to Sofia one on her right and the other on her left. They were looking into the cup.

"Is he alright?" Gar asked with some concern in his tone.

"Yes. The lycan just used some sort of magical spell to reduce his size to well... that." I answered. "Hold on to your bag and to my hand." I said to Gar and he did accordingly.

Gar knew I was about to do something. To a very large extent, he seems to trust my magic even though I completely don't. Not when I don't have supreme control over it yet. Charlie got the message and held on to my mom's arm while holding his bag.

I tried to concentrate on the image of the beach in my mind but it wasn't as clear as I wanted. It took about ten seconds before I was able to get the clear image into my mind.

"Ready?!?"

"Catch me!" I said to Gar when I noticed my vision getting vaguer and my strength going down with extreme speed.

The last thing I saw before going blank were the motion waves of the waters as they made their way to us in simple rhythms.

I did it.

Sofia Xanders ~

"Elena! Red! Wake up! Wake up!" Gar urged holding her gently in his firm hands. "Why isn't she waking up?" he asked turning to me.

"Her strength. She exhausted most of her physical strength to cast the spell. She knew she wasn't strong enough to cast the spell but she didn't say. She did it anyway and I notice she was hiding her fear." I rested my hand on her head.

"What's going to happen to her? Ryan? You said she was very powerful and strong. A simple spell shouldn't have been able to drain her dry." Gar asked but there was no reply.

Ryan said that nothing would happen to her and she'll be up in a matter of minutes that's if we're able to get her to the world of magic before she loses her pulse. If not she'll need time to revive her strength.

A lot of time.

As far as I can see, to our advantage, we're the only ones around the beach area and that's because of how late the time is. The search light made seeing around not so difficult.

"We need to get her to the supernatural world. There she'll awake eventually. She hasn't fully embraced her magic yet so her strength remains like that of a regular human and not of her true nature." I said running my hand over her cheek.

Gar picked her up bridal style and his eyes were ever focused on her. Could he be Elena's mate? They've been the closest of friends since childhood and never once did I suspect any sort of relationship that went beyond friendship and family ties to Gar. Maybe they had something they didn't want me to be aware of going on.

"Sofia, I take it that neither Gar nor Charlie can hear my voice as clear as you do. You have to call out my name three times introducing me then do same but once for yourself. That's how they told me to signal them anytime I want to visit. Also, face the statue when you do." Ryan instructed pointing to the statue of liberty erected some distance away from the shores where we are.

"How do I know it will work?"

"A man in a black suit would appear and lead you into the coven."

"Are you sure about this Ryan? If this doesn't pull through we'll..."

"I ran into them some time ago and they brought me here then down the waters to the underwater coven. It's here." Ryan interjected. "Trust me on this."

I looked at Ryan. Even though I was worried that there’s a huge possibility this isn’t going to work out, I trusted his words. After all, he has been making good use of his time here in the human world well enough to know things about my own people here that I don’t. Unlike me who spends every second of being here raising my best-friend’s daughter.

in the review section as it keeps me motivated and a direction to improve.

Lots of love, Ulric.
