Chapter 61: Chapter 61

Chapter 60

Elena Claw Wolfs

"What do you mean by it's in a coven under the statue of liberty? Couldn't they have found somewhere closer on land to establish a blood bank?" I asked Ryan in rising intonations.

"You guys must really be in need of a portal, aren't you? I'm sorry but that's the only one here in New York City. The vampyres have to keep the existence of supernatural creatures a secret and staying hidden from the society of humans is the only way." Ryan pointed not that it made any difference.

The statue of liberty is far off the shores of the city. I could try teleporting all of us there but on getting there, how do we hope to get inside the coven?

"Elena, knowing that there's one in town is good news already. Don't worry yourself about how we would get there in time." My mm encouraged almost like she could read my thoughts. "You have to calm yourself down." she added turning to hold my shoulder. "Look at what you're doing!"

I realised that the objects around me were levitating. My worry and anger must be the source of it. Sofia was speaking the truth when she said that my emotions can trigger and fuel my magic. It is surprising how I am unknowingly doing all this. I took a deep breath and replayed the words of Sofia in my head. I needed to calm down. I let it all out and as I did, the objects levitating slowly came down.

"Ryan, is there anything else that you're not telling us about the coven?" "We need to know as much as we can before heading there. For one, I'm sure there'll be heavy protection."

"I'll have to follow you there. They have a protection spell warding humans out topped off with a clothing and phasing spell keeping the coven out of sight such that even from beneath the waters, it'll be impossible to detect the coven. You can even say that humans would swim in it without knowing and it won't affect them nor the vampyres."

"So how do we get in?" I asked getting up.

"I know the commander of the blood bank. He'll get us in when he's aware of my presence plus having the vampyre queen around is already an automatic ticket into getting in. Sofia, at your instruction, they'll take us home."

"Ryan, about you. I don't have enough magical strength to lift the curse so you might stay little a lot more longer. That also means you wouldn't be able to accompany us to Cassius' castle." I said in a low tone.

"Hopefully, when we arrive at the supernatural world, I would be able to return to my actual size plus, If Red's going on a suicidal mission to get her mother from Cassius, I won't miss it. I won't let the trybrid child face that beast without some fire power on her side." Ryan claimed before he stood up.

"Wait, since you all are now humans, won't they have that urge to feed on you guys?" I asked.

"No. By nature, neither Ryan nor I are humans so they won't have any such urge. We just seem human because of the world that we are in." Sofia replied going towards the kitchen. "Well, as for Charlie and Gar, don't forget, I'm they're queen. They wouldn't dare bite someone under my company."

She came back soon with a huge plastic cup in her hands. With his approval, she picked Ryan up by the arm and carefully, placed him in it. I looked at the time. We are running out of time.

"Besides, the blood dealers don't just go around sucking people in this world and draining them of their blood just so they can feed the hungry mouths in ours. That's just wicked." Ryan assured with his voice echoing from within the cup.

"You have a point though but where then do they get all that blood to feed an entire kingdom?" I asked suddenly inquisitive about how vampyre get their required intake of blood.

"Here, some loyal hospitals and a good number of related organizations supply blood banks with a huge amount of blood from the recently deceased although without records of it. They also get it from their official blood banks in exchange for assets to improve themselves. Healing totems and solid Cawtz for instance." Ryan said.

Human blood in large quantities for healing totems and Cawtz?

"What's Cawtz?"

"It's what the humans here call gold."

"What’s so special about the gold in the magical world? I mean we have those here too. I know it's very valuable but is it worth that much blood?" I asked.

"The gold in our world is extremely different from the ones they have here so it's very much worth the cost. The Cawtz bars aren't wrapped with golden colours inside out. The golden colour is just the background of the Cawtz. Inside the Cawtz, all the colours in existence shimmers." I heard Sofia say. "I'll tell you more about the supernatural world some other time but right now, we have to get to Charlie and Gar."

I nodded in agreement. We don't have so much time to converse about anything.

"Elena, are you strong enough to take us there? It's pretty far so you'll have to put in a lot of concentration. This time, it's most possible that the spell won't work if the image of the place in your head is not clear enough." Sofia warned putting my hand in hers while the other holds on the Ryan's cup.

"Can you?"

"You'll feel very much drained of strength afterwards."

"I can do it." I said without an iota of gear or stutter in my words.

I am confident that I can get us all there. I've been to the beach a lot of times so picturing how it looks wouldn't be a problem. Now we knows vampyre blood bank with a portal that can take us tot he supernatural world, all we need to get are just Gar and Charlie and I can take us there in time.

I took the hint and closed my eyes trying to cast the spell like I had done previous times in my mind but this time, something felt different. Deep down, I knew that I am not strong enough to cast the teleportation spell to Charlie's house, Gar's house and then, to the beach all at once. I kept trying to cast the spell but we weren't moving.

Why?
