Chapter 47: Chapter 47
Chapter 46
Garfield West ~
“She’s going to die!” “Sofia cannot…” Ryan was barely done with his statement when a strange voice interrupted him.
“Definitely not! The defeat of that heartless beast depends on Sofia taking the trybrid child and her alpha mate into the supernatural world and the chances of that going to happen when she’s dead are zero to infinity.” A voice speaking through Red said cutting Ryan short of words.
“Gar, Ryan and Charlie, you guys would have to shift backwards and take cover for some few seconds!” the voice said again this time with more forcefulness in her tone. “I can save her and I intend to.”
“Wait? What? Who’s speaking?” Charlie said turning towards the direction of the voice – Red.
“Ryan? Do you have any idea what’s going on with Red? It is almost like someone else is speaking through her mouth because I do not think Red knows any ‘Sofia’ or a ‘trybrid child’ and I don’t get how that person relates to myself and her.” I asked walking up to Red with my eyes glued on her hoping that Ryan would have a profiting answer.
“Calm yourself Gar, I am not your mate! I am simply trying to help. I wish I had more time to explain this but more lycans lay around and you’ll need Sofia alive to get past them.” “I gave you your chance.” The voice said.
Red snapped a finger with another and I found myself, Charlie and Ryan at the far side of the room with some sort of magical shield hovering around us preventing us from going beyond it.
“What are you going to do?” Ryan asked trying to break with his hands, the magical shield which of course wasn’t going to work just so he could get to Red.
“What I have to!” Red said and before my very eyes, I saw her mom’s body float up in the air as Red’s pupils went from their natural pigmentation to a thick shade of green and she began speaking in a language that I couldn’t understand moving her hands over the body of her mom.
Unexpectedly, all the lights in the house went out and when they came back on, Red was on the floor a few paces beside her mom, unconscious.
“Red!” I ran with so much speed so I could get to Red.
Something or rather, someone within myself wanted to make sure that no harm comes her way but after what just happened I have a hunch that I’ll be getting more worried for her on a more regular basis because of the person that she’s turning into and the extraordinary things that now surround her.
Surprisingly, the shield that held myself, Charlie and Ryan out while Red 2.0 did whatever made her pass out was gone.
“Wake up! Red?! Wake up!” I urged Red to regain consciousness until she finally did.
“Gar? What happened?” Red managed to say with her hand fixed on her head. “My mom! Mom!” she exclaimed before she crawled towards her mom’s body and to both our surprises, all her wounds had been healed and there is no sign of blood on her anymore.
It was having the view that Red’s mom was never inflicted with any wound. All the blood around her clothing are gone. The other person must have done something to help save Red’s mom’s life.
“Gar, how is this possible? What did you guys do?” Red asked with tears of joy all over her cheeks.
“You were the only one who did anything Red. We couldn’t even when we tried.” I answered reducing myself to her level so I could help revive her mom.
“If the healing spell worked, she’ll be fine Red.”
“And if it didn’t?” Charlie asked with folded arms walking towards Red.
“She’ll be fine!” Ryan said with assurance in his words like he could tell precisely.
With some help from Ryan, I was able to sit Mrs. Flora up on a couch. She was breathing and to every physical test I knew off, she was in good health. It took nothing more than 4 minutes of attempts to revive Mrs. Flora before she finally came through. A smile that could be seen miles away from nowhere came upon Red’s teary face and her worried expression was gone.
“Mom!” Red hugged her mom with so much forcefulness that her mom was sure to pop if she continued. “Are you alright?”
“I should be the one asking you that.” Mrs. Flora said trying to capture in what was going on. “Ryan? What are you doing here? How did you get here? Did Cassius send you?” questions rolled out of her mouth as she got up in swift motion at the sight of Ryan.
“You know each other?” I asked pointing at both Mrs. Flora and Ryan consequently.
“Yes but not from this world.”
“Your Majesty,” Ryan gave a slight bow. “You have to trust me when I say that there’s no way that I’ll do the bidding of that beast. How I got here is a long story to tell but first you need to relax yourself.” Ryan said gesturing she has her seat.
“Your Majesty, I would have loved to explain everything now but that would have to wait. We need you to tell us what happened before you woke up in Red’s arms. Can you try and remember?” “I mean anything that can tell us why there was a lycan in the house and why you were laid in a pool of your own blood when Elena found you.” Ryan added.
Wait a second here. Red’s mom is royalty? Why does Ryan keep addressing her as ‘your majesty’? If that’s true, that means that, Red should be... A princess if I’m not mistaken. I would have had it no other way.
“Yes! I fear something very horrible has happened in our world. Somehow, there’s now a touch of magic in this world. I can feel it.” Mrs. Flora said with uneasiness. “Red, barely few minutes after Gar drove off with you….” Mrs. Flora stopped talking as if she was finding her words. “Ryan….”
“Your Majesty, you don’t have to lie to her or conceal the truth from her anymore! She had ran into some things that were… revealing so now she knows a bit of the…. Well, everything. We’ll settle that bit later but right now, you have to tell us what happened. Was Cassius here?” Ryan asked with folded arms.
“No! He wasn’t. His lycans were.”
