Chapter 46: Chapter 46
Chapter 45
Ryan McFlame ~
“Red, what did you do? How are we at your house? Weren’t we at school about a second ago?” Charlie asked while he held on to his head as he tried to phantom how he had just moved from being in Red’s ward in the school’s infirmary to her house in the matter of a few seconds.
“Mom?!? Mom?!?” Red shouted totally ignoring Charlie’s questions getting up from the ground and walking in search of her mother. “She’s in the kitchen!” Red said with all confidence almost like she had casted a location spell for her mom in her mind and knew exactly where to find her.
“Red, wait up!” “You mentioned wanting to help and I said that you couldn’t. I hope now you get the hint why?” Gar said to Charlie before rudely pushing him out of his way as he followed Red from behind.
Or maybe she had bonded with her.
“Lycan!!!” I shouted when a fully transformed lycan came bursting through a door with claws heading for Gar.
I brought out my pocket silver knife and threw it with all forcefulness at the lycan aiming for its heart. A few months after Morgana had sent me into this world, I made the decision to always keep silver blades by my side no matter what.
It was my simplest form of defense if ever Cassius or any one of his demons make their way to this world to attack me. I may have lost my powers as a phoenix after walking through that portal but I still know the weakness of lycans no matter the world that they may choose to walk in – The element of SILVER.
Somehow, Cassius was able to break one of the greatest laws of nature and get a lycan to come into this world with abilities intact. I believe they must be more. He couldn’t have sent only one to do his bidding.
No one has been able to do that since, since, well since forever. This lycan must definitely not be the only one that Cassius sent into this world but why?
I just hope that he didn’t come himself.
If he did, there’s no saving this world from the catastrophe he would unleash.
What makes it so confusing is who or what exactly they are here for. Is he using this young girl and her friends as bait to get to me or is he using Red and this whole Halloween blah blah blah to get to her mom? What? Why? Whatever the reason is, it can’t be good.
“What is that?” Charlie asked gasping for his breath.
“That, is a problem! A very big one.” I said continuing my search for any more lycans in our perimeter.
“Red was right! If anyone had told anything about me this, including her, I would hastily conclude them to be insane.” Charlie said watching the lycan fall to the ground and the contact with the silver with his insides causing burning and somewhat roasting effects on the lycan into ash.
“What was you first clue? The teleportation spell or this lycan?” I said sarcastically taking a scan of the place that we were. “Gar!” I called out, hastened my steps to him and held him back from following Red by his left hand.
“Red is in danger. Remember Cassius, the guy I told you about in the supernatural world that wants my powers, that lycan who just tried to attack you must be one of his assassins. Red may not know who she really is and how she links up with the whole ‘supernatural world’ thing and so do you but Cassius’ assassins do.”
“That’s probably why they’re after her mom. If what your inner beast told you is true and she has all the answers to our questions, we have to keep her alive. No matter what happens, don’t let anyone of those beasts lay a finger on her.” I said handing another silver-coated pocket knife to Gar.
“You’ll need this. One stroke is all it takes to kill a lycan.”
Gar may not be able to transform owing to the fact that he can’t here, in the human world but the least that I can do is give him some sort of protection against the lurking dangers associated with Cassius. I won’t have him, Red or this idiot of a friend of hers get hurt because of Cassius’ cruelty.
“If the hunch you shared with me is right and Red and Elena are truly the same person, then I definitely wouldn’t have to protect her from anybody or any-being because they would be the ones needing protection from her.” Gar replied taking the knife and caught up with Red in the kitchen.
“Mom!?!!” Red exclaimed getting to the kitchen and finding a woman covered in blood from different scars laid on the ground fighting for her life with feint breaths.
“Sofia?!?” “Your mother is Sofia??” I exclaimed in surprise. “Of course!”
That confirms it!
Red is the trybrid child that Sofia took into this world a long time ago. After sixteen good years, I finally found both of them but at this state, Sofia is going to die before she can answer any of Elena’s or Gar’s questions. I can’t let that happen. Sofia is the only way that I or Elena will make it to the supernatural world and right now, Elena needs her guidance.
“You have to heal her or she most definitely will die! Red, can’t you think of anything within yourself that can save her?” I asked with worry written all over me watching Sofia run out of breaths. “We just can’t let her die!!!”
“Do you think that if I knew how to I wouldn’t be doing it right now?” Red asked bewailing in tears.
“You can!”
“Does she have it in her?” Gar asked.
“She does! More than I can say! Elena, you have to search deep within yourself and do something to save your…. To save Sofia. Besides being the one who raised you up, she’s the only one in this world that has the answers to all our questions.” I said helping Gar carry Sofia’s bleeding body to a couch.
“She’s going to die!” “Sofia can’t….”
“No! She’s not! The defeat of Cassius remains dependent on her taking the trybrid child and her mate to the supernatural world and the chances of that happening when she’s dead is Zero to infinity.”
in the review section as it keeps me motivated and a direction to improve.
Lots of love, Ulric.
