Chapter 45: Chapter 45
Chapter 44
Ryan McFlame ~
“What happened? The songs? The dance? Halloween?” Red managed to ask holding up her head in confusion.
Clearly, she was confused.
“None of that matters compared to what lies behind the veil.” I replied with folded arms. “How do you feel now?”
“I feel fine. Did something happen? Why am I here?” Red asked looking all around.
“You fainted. Ryan and I got talking after you blacked out and you wouldn’t believe the things he made me hear. I still can’t!”
“Well, except me being an actual lycan, in my right senses, I wouldn’t but after what happened to me few seconds after we fell out, the sooner I believe it, the clearer things would be to me.” Gar said walking up to Red with the intent to sit her up.
“Red,” Gar’s eyes met with Red’s and they looked at each other’s eyes in a manner that made me know that they must be mates.
“I’m sorry!” they both said simultaneously.
“Red, I’m the only one allowed to be sorry for anything here. I shouldn’t have….”
Before Gar could put an end to his statement, Red’s lips had found their way to Gar’s and sealed him shut with a kiss. It lasted for a few seconds at most before Red broke it leaving Gar in a state of confusion.
“Now, I also have a reason to be sorry for!” Red said. “To be honest, this night has brought a lot more to me than I guess it has you. I shouldn’t have slapped you in the car! I let out my anger from obsessing over a perfect relationship with the perfect guy blind me and lure me into acting so… so wrongly to you.”
“You are the perfect guy. I shouldn’t have let your dad make me prevent what I have for you. You are mine.” “I should’ve given you sometime to explain yourself.” Red added.
“Nothing can justify what I did to you then but I’m glad that right now, you at least know why I did it and where it came from. Like you said, my dad.” Gar said before Red’s ringtone came up. “My heart!”
“Red, Gar, this isn’t the place or time for your little apology and all these romantic stuffs so you’ll have to put your conversation with each other on this, on a hold.”
“I didn’t crash the Halloween festivities of your school just so you two could hold me back while I find the answers to all our questions.” I said barging in on their conversation.
“Red! You’re alright?” I heard a teenage boy allege walking into Red’s ward. “What happened to you? I would’ve gotten here sooner but Ryan here, made your ward super tight to get into.
“…And I still wonder how you got past.” I said fixing a harsh glance at him.
The boy was walking towards Red but I gave him a sign to stop right when he was about to cross the foot of the bed.
“For blood’ sake if you are going to take the call then please do if not turn the damn thing off!!!” I said in reference to Red’s pesky ringtone.
“I thought I left this at your car, Gar?” “It’s my mom!” Red said pulling the phone out of a space allotted for a pocket in her Halloween costume.
Red took the call and for the next few minutes that followed, she talked to the caller expressing different faces of shock, worry and confusion in between. Red gave the phone later on to Gar with shaking hands.
“My mom is at home and she claims that there are bad people there that are after me so I should stay away until she calls it safe.” Red said.
“With all these madness going on, I have no second thoughts that those are way beyond bad people. They might not even be humans because for as long as I have known my mom, she has had problems with no one.” She added with a tear sliding down her left cheek.
All through these moments, Charlie was as silent as a shadow. He had no idea of what was going on between Gar who now looks at Red in a way far different than usual, Ryan, a superstar that had come to the school for the purpose of the Halloween gig he was offered with his band who turns out to be having something far from just friendly with Red and Gar and Red, the center of all their attention, someone who had fainted on stage about twenty minutes ago or more but looks and acts in no sort like someone who did.
“Dude, I know that you’re probably worth a lot more than I know but can you just chill out for a few minutes here? I just came to see how Red was doing after what the three of you were pulling off on stage shortly before she passed out not that it concerns you or anything.” “Everyone’s asking what happened?”
“By the way, I’m Charlie. The extra guitarist you requested for that was meant to take part in the music that for some reason, you crashed for a chat with Red on stage.” The boy said using his hand to push mine aside.
“I know who you are. You won’t be standing here saying all this if I didn’t.” I replied with a stern look.
“Red, what did I miss? Are you better now? Because judging by your facial expressions, I can’t say that you are.”
“I can’t explain any of this to you in a way that you won’t think me, Gar and Ryan to be out of our minds! I appreciate your concern but you have to get away from me just until I can be certain that everything will make complete sense to you and everyone else.” Red said to Charlie.
“No! Seriously? You can’t expect me to listen to all that trash talk and at the end just leave you with your problems? Now I know that there’s certainly, a lot that I need to catch up on beginning from….”
“Guy, I’m going to be totally honest with you. I know that we have our misunderstandings between ourselves but right now, you have to trust me when I say that there’s no sort of help you can offer in reference to what is going on.”
“Neither of us really know what the exact issue is but for one thing, this is far beyond any help you think you can offer. Or do you happen to be or know a supernatural creature too?” Gar said interrupting Charlie. “Just go!” he added with his hands folded and his head pointing to the direction of the door.
“Guys,??” Yelled Red getting out of the bed in shock.
“What?” asked all three guys simultaneously each turning to her way.
“Something is happening!” Red replied watching her hands bring out sparks of electric current.
No way! There’s no possible explanation of how this girl has the abilities of both a witch and a lycan in her. Just by the way she reacted when I placed her attention to her arm that was taking the form of a lycan on stage, I had the conviction that was the first time it has ever happened to her and now, she’s casting a spell without even knowing or having control over it making my conviction true.
None of these seems right.
How could Red have been a supernatural in this world for so long and not know or worse not know anything about it? She was under a dormant spell, she must have.
None of those creatures should be in this world and not with their powers. Thank goodness that I once lived with a few warlocks and witches and to some extent, I know significant aspects of how their magic works.
Red seems to be casting a teleportation spell without even knowing it. Teleportation spells were only casted by the Grand-warlocks and Grand-witches because they were the only ones capable of commanding such a high degree of magic. Red is more special that I thought her to be.
Could she be the trybrid child?
“Relax, try your best to calm down. You have to suppress whatever emotions that you are feeling right now and empty your mind.” I said in a soothing voice to Red.
One false mistake from this ignorant little witch and she could end up teleporting us to the other side of this earth.
“I can’t!” Red said opening her eyes after the few seconds she had them closed.
“What do you mean ‘you can’t’?”
“It’s impossible to do all that with all that is going on with me, Gar, my mom….MY MOM!”
“Reedd! Doonn’t!” I yelled noticing the pupils of her eyes turn golden and her lips move saying words that obviously, were parts of a magic spell.
Red was casting a spell and no matter what I tried doing to snap her out of doing it, her emotions were taking over.
“MY MOM!!”
A flash of bright light followed Red’s last words and when it was over, I found myself to be laying on the floor of a house beside me was Gar, Charlie and of course, Red.
