Chapter 38: Chapter 38
Chapter 37
Alessia Claw ~
“Who is the ‘we’? From what I could make out on, your father passed on about six centuries right after he had me locked up and at present, Frederick who has been ruling the kingdom ever since is now in the underworld so who do you refer to be the ‘we’?”
“Not just me, this entire world.” I said raising my eyes to meet hers. “I and my daughter!”
“I must’ve skipped the part where you became a witch and got yourself married to the late lycan king and the most important detail, Cassius Rein.” “I can only offer you a favor as… let’s just say as a token of appreciation from my past self so what would it be?” she alleged.
“We need your ability of teleportation to get past a very very powerful barrier made by….”
“Cassius! You know I can hear your thoughts and read through your memories right before they become words? I just wanted to hear you say it.” Jessie said before releasing her fur from the pleasure of my hand and stood upward.
“You’ve seen the place before? Because I can’t do that right now if you haven’t. I didn’t have so much space and magic to practice my teleportation while I was in you know where’ so you’ll be the one to give me the directions.”
“I have.”
“I can hear that this very conversation is bringing your daughter closer to her annihilation by every second so I need you and your friends to hold on to me so we can get this favor done’’
“Thank you.”
“Don’t thank me until I have done what you asked just so you know as I get you to your desired destination I will go somewhere far away and….”
“You are free!” “I never planned on taking you back there anyways. Get us there and you are free to go. Jessie.” I said with a broad smile.
“So she said she can do it?” a vampyre from the duo asked pointing at Jessie.
“Yes.”
I told the witches and the vampyres to hold my hand and theirs. The last two held onto Jessie and after I pictured the royal castle of the lycans in my mind, I felt a wave of dark energy pass through me and probably it pass through everyone else making us all seal our eyes and when I opened them, I found myself in the royal courtyard.
Jessie was gone but the important part was that she had done just what she said she would. A part of me was sad about her departure and a bigger part was happy for her.
“Thank you!” I heard her voice speak in my head faintly.
“Thank you as well!” I replied but I doubt that she heard it because by now, she must be pretty far away.
“Which way to Cassius’ doorway?” the second vampyre warrior asked me with eagerness.
“Follow me!” I replied walking into a shady corner. “This way!” I pulled out a block from the wall and placed my palm on the space that was given for it.
Before my mate was taken away from me, he showed me some secret tunnels in the castle one of which can take me to Cassius’ doorway. I could sense his dark magic so that was what we were able to track exactly where the doorway was.
As I removed my hand, a portion of the wall went inwards exposing a secret passageway. We all walked in without being spotted and walked until we had gotten to the ‘X’ – the chamber where the doorway was opened. I placed my hand on the wall and the wall went forward and outwards giving us enough room to walk into the chamber.
“Seize them!” Cassius said standing a few paces behind the doorway and with him, six guards. “Did you really think that you could sneak into my kingdom and just waltz your way into the doorway that I’ve worked so hard to enact?” Cassius added with his arms folded.
“It’s my kingdom not yours!” I yelled back in anger trying to control myself at my very sight of him.
“What the hell are you idiots waiting for? I said seize them!!! Alessia, don’t dream of going out the way you came because I have guards placed everywhere.” Cassius said as the guards proceeded to our direction.
“Alessia can’t you summon that friend of yours to get us out of here?” a vampyre asked through the mind link.
“I wish I could but that is no longer possible.” I answered him.
“You and the witches should get out of here. We will cover you guys.” The vampyre said right before he transformed alongside the other vampyre and they stood in front of three of us.
“Take one more step and I’ll make barbecue out of your pieces.” The brawny vampyre amongst the duo said making the forthcoming lycans halt in their tracks.
“I could have you in the dungeon without having any of these lycans lay a finger on you but I won’t. I want you to witness what I have and what you never will - the ability to command these lycans.” Cassius said with a smirk.
“By your looks, I can tell that you weren’t expecting me to be here. You thought I would be long gone before you arrived and I wish I was, truly I do but things for some awkward reason did not work out.”
The vampyres charged at the lycans and a fight begun. Out of the six guards, they were able to take down three before Cassius ran into them with supernatural speed and brought out their hearts from their bodies. They wanted to attack him but they couldn’t. Their hearts were in his possession so they couldn’t do anything to harm him no matter how hard they tried.
“I could have killed you the instant I saw you in the courtyard but I didn’t and thanks to such mercy, I have now lost two of my guards. Trust me when I say that I have intentions of sending you to your grave.”
“Not now!”
“First, I want you to witness my assassins send your daughter to the great beyond.” Cassius squashed the hearts of the vampyres that were in his hands and screaming in pain, the vampyre warriors fell to the ground, lifeless.
The lycan guards came and seized all three of us. It was clear that there was no winning this or escaping so I gave in for whatever was fated to happen. I never expected that Cassius would be here but if he is here, who went after my daughter?
“What do you mean by ‘your assassins’ are going to send Elena to the great beyond? Wasn’t putting an end to her life your purpose? What makes you so sure that a bunch of lycans can do her any harm?” I said as Cassius came closer.
“It is because for one thing, she has no idea of who she really is, she doesn’t have her powers or at least have mastered them and she’s just like a regular human with the knowledge that none of us truly exists.”
“As for the part where I have to make lycans do my bidding in taking care of your little ‘trybrid’, believe me, I don’t like it either because even after I had gone through extreme lengths to get this doorway open, it refuses to work for me.” Cassius added grazing his hand on my cheek with his face bearing an evil smile.
“You Monster!” I screamed letting my eyes go green and transforming to my hybrid form. “You took so much from me but I’m never going to let you take my daughter’s life as well.” I said right before I used my vampyric speed to release myself from the grips of the guards and pushed them in opposite directions.
The lycans fractured the wall with their bodies but I didn’t care. My sole and only aim was to get to that doorway by hook or by crook. I gave Cassius a blow in the gut and another in the jaw. On the third attempt to render a blow on his disgusting face was made futile as he held my hand in place with his and used his second hand to grip me by the head.
“That’s enough!” Cassius said casting a sleeping spell on Alessia. “I’ll wake you up as soon as the show starts!” he added releasing his grip on her and she fell to the ground with a thud.
“I advise you apply some level of wisdom and do as you’re told well that’s if you haven’t checked everything off your bucket list and don’t mind dying.” “Guards!!!” Cassius called out and three more lycans entered into the chamber.
“Show our esteemed guests to the dungeon. Keep every lycan in this castle alert, especially the wardens. I don’t want what happened last time to repeat itself!”
With that, the lycans took Alessia and the two witches and locked them under tough security beneath the castle grounds.
“Now, let’s see what those lycans are up to.” Cassius said waving his hand over the doorway.
in the review section as it keeps me motivated and a direction to improve.
Lots of love, Ulric.
