Chapter 37: Chapter 37
Chapter 36
Alessia Claw ~
The portal brought us back to where we were before we got to the dimension where Jessie was imprisoned and all eyes were on her- The Galvan.
By nature, she took the form of a huge grizzly bear with white fur and eyes that glowed in a shade of red. It was impossible to have sight on her eye balls because they were made of light.
She has been in a place with very little magic for so long that though she had grown in size, the pigmentation of her fur had changed from white to black. I walked up to her and placed my hand on her forehead. The feeling of our skin having contact was enough to trigger in memories of our past to me and her.
For some reason, even when her powers were back, she didn’t attack me or do anything of the sort. All she did was close her eyes and after a few seconds, opened them.
Surprisingly, she released a tear.
‘I’m sorry!’ I said in thought. “I shouldn’t have let them talk me into keeping you in there. It was your fault as it was mine!” I added.
Bonding with her was the only way that I knew that I will be able to talk her into teleporting all of us past the magical barrier, into the lycan lands and to the Royal castle.
I was barely a decade old when I met her. She was just a cub, a stray. Then, she was neutral by nature which means that she was capable of bending her will towards good or evil. According to what my dad told me, she was too young for her true nature to begin playing out.
It was after I took her to my mom telling her that I had found her in the royal gardens that I was made to understand that she was a Galvan. As young as I was, I believed that she wasn’t and would never be as my parents predicted that she would be – DARK OF HEART AND MIND.
Being half a decade older than me, not even Frederick could change my mind about her. With time, I bonded with her and her with me. For thousands of days, we lived that way until she grew of age and her true nature suddenly revealed itself but not without taking the life of my mother.
One day, when I was twenty-one years of age, her eye color suddenly went from blue to a thick shade of RED. That day, we all were in the Royal Gardens which was nicely prepared to celebrate the first millennium anniversary of my dad, King Alaric as the ruler of all the vampyre lands in a grand fashion.
At a point of the celebration, I was in the Royal Coven preparing my gift for him when from my side Jessie out of the blue, went wild.
She growled at every one and her powers went on a feral display. She was totally out of control and no one, not even me dared to try putting her to rest. It was almost like there was a switch connecting her mind and her heart together that just flipped.
I was just a young vampyre still trying to master all my abilities so I could nothing but to try in whatever way I could to protect myself. The royal guards then couldn’t do much to take her out of the premises of the celebration and into the wild where my parents had always told me that he belonged.
Jessie teleported herself to the celebration and in an attempt to save my dad from one of her deadly eye lasers, I lost my mum. My stubborn actions had made my people to lose their queen. It happened so fast. In annoyance, the elder warlocks that my dad invited made a force-field around her and trapped her in a very enchanted cage in the prison dimension. Afterwards, they took a drop of blood from my dad, Frederick and me to seal the caging spell, FOREVER.
We were the only ones who had the power to release her but we never did, not until now. My dad claimed that a creature like her cannot live amongst other creatures seeing as evil had no place anywhere in this world and I knowing what they had feared would happen had happened and it made me motherless and the people queen-less, I had no reason whatsoever to plea or to disagree with him because of the grief in my heart and the fear that I had suddenly grown towards her and her kind.
My dad had the grand-warlocks send her away, banished and imprisoned in another dimension where her powers and her nature would be a threat to no one but herself since she was a creature of dark magic and couldn’t be killed being immortal and all.
Soon, King Alaric began the hunting of Galvans. He wanted to make sure what Jessie did would never repeat itself by any Galvan in history. Making them extinct was his main goal, one after the other until every last one of them was dead. Being creatures of magic, different from the rest creatures, King Alaric knew that they were immortal so he sought out for a weakness, something that would put an end to their connection with magic and kill them. King Alaric Never found it. At least not before he died.
It was discovered centuries after the king’s death that the Galvans, creatures like herself were dying off.
Ever since the day of her imprisonment, I haven’t set my eyes on her nor bring myself to pay her a visit.
Our bond was gone.
It was broken.
“…And it wasn’t entirely yours too!” just as it was when I was younger, I could hear the voice of Jessie inside my head. “My mind and heart may be as dark as coal but before they were, they both remember the kindness and the love you showed to me even when your family wanted me as far away from you and everyone else as possible. Our bond may have been broken a long time ago but the memories that I had with it then haven’t been lost!”
“I know that you didn’t release me after all these centuries just to give me an apology. Something has happened, what? It feels like a millennium since I was gone.” she kept speaking to me through my mind and I was glad.
Probably, being trapped and imprisoned in a different dimension for a thousand years has made her have some level of control over her dark side.
“You know that I can hear your thoughts right?” she said.
“A whole lot has happened. We really need your help!”
“Not just me, this entire world”
