Chapter 35: Chapter 35

Chapter 34

Alessia Claw ~

Fortuitously, I, Hendrix and Frederick’s corpse got off the island right on time to watch it all go poof!

“My Lady, they are waiting!” Hendrix said bringing me out of my thoughts. “You can’t keep thinking about this. The people would need a leader while Frederick is gone. I know that by marriage, you are the lycan queen but right now, a part of you belongs here, where it was born, belongs to the dynasty of the deceased king Alaric, your father.”

“You share the same blood with Frederick so you are the perfect match for the throne.” Hendrix added looking at me straight in the eyes.

“Don’t worry about the throne, Hendrix. I’ll be able to handle things while Frederick is gone but that excludes taking his throne. We may be siblings and share the same blood coursing through our veins but Frederick was the one that was born to be king and not me! I have to respect that and the people need to believe in that!” I answered before walking to meet the armies of warriors.

As soon as the warriors spotted me coming, murmurs filled the air. I assume that they were questioning amongst themselves the result of what had just taken place.

“Where’s Frederick? Where’s our king?” using my supernatural hearing, I was able to overhear one of the vampyres ask Hendrix after pulling him to a secluded part of the gathering.

“Hendrix! Don’t!” I spoke to him using the mind link. “I will tell them myself!” I added giving him a nod to let him know that I was serious.

Hendrix just returned by my side without giving the vampyre an answer.

“SILENCE!” Hendrix shouted with a tone that made them all know that he meant business.

“It brings me nothing but pain to make it known to you that… that your king, Frederick alongside I and the other supernaturals charged with the responsibility of putting an end to the menace that parades himself as ‘Cassius Rein’ failed! We lost! We lost not just the key prize of the battle but also….” I stopped to take a deep breath of courage and strength before I continued.

“We lost your king!” I added bringing forth the remains of my brother to the sight of them.

The next minutes were filled with so much murmurs of protests and anger.

“Not to worry! There must be a way to bring him back and I know it! With the help of all the elder witches and practitioners of magic, I am sure that my brother, the king would soon, once again lead you all as he always have.” I said putting their murmurs to an end.

“And when would that be, your Majesty? We may be just a part of King Frederick’s loyal army of warriors but you and I both know that we, the vampyres need a ruler. Especially at a time like this, every second that we are made to stay without someone on that throne is a step closer to losing what King Frederick and his father’s before him have worked so hard to build and achieve.” I heard a vampyre say lading them all into another round of murmurs.

“That’s a good question! He result is entirely unpredictable for now, but I assure you all, I assure all his subjects and all those who are united under him that I, personally, would stop at nothing until your king is with you. Mark my words.”

If only I could fulfill what I was saying to these vampyres. It was impossible, not even Cassius could do it. That’s the only explanation of why he didn’t take the flower himself. He knew there was no cheating nature.

“Until that comes, seeing as I am the last of the bloodline of the deceased King Alaric, my father, I will lead and hold this land up. Although, I won’t be sitting on his throne nor take up any title as a queen over you all. You are his people, not mine alone.” I replied with a smile battling to win over my sadness and broaden my lips.

“Long live King Frederick! Long live the king!” they began chanting.

“Thank you!” Hendrix said with a low tone into my ear. “I’ll take them back to the coven and those who left their guard posts would be made sure to return to them. Leave everything to me.” He added with a convincing and trustworthy look on his face.

“You have been commander of these untied creatures for the past century and so I believe in what you can offer. I would have loved to follow you all to the coven and attend to the injured but…”

“I know! You don’t need to explain yourself when it comes to the fate of the savior. By now, Cassius must have made that doorway and should be in the human world with his powers. You have to do what you can to make sure that she is safe from his clutches. The savior is our only hope.” Hendrix said cutting me off.

I watched him command the army to head back home carrying Frederick’s body with them. He had two vamyres warriors and two powerful witches that have been loyal to the royal family ever since the reign of my father to stay behind with me so they could accompany me with the new missions which was to get to Cassius doorway and do everything possible to make sure Cassius doesn’t lay a finger on Elena or does any damage in the human world.

For tens of centuries, we supernaturals’ have been kept secret and nothing but fiction from those in the human world. We risk exposing our existence if Cassius decides to do anything out of the ordinary there which I have no doubt that he will. Before Elena was sent into the human world, a spell was casted on her to keep her powers dormant for a long while.

Without her powers, Cassius doing what he wills to her would be like breaking a twig in half.

I could have opened a portal allowing her to cross back but that would be pointless seeing as I have no idea of the geographical location which Morgana had sent her and Sofia to before Cassius happened, and the one thing about portal spells is that only the witch or magical practitioner that took you in can bring you out.

in the review section as it keeps me motivated and a direction to improve.

Lots of love, Ulric.
