Chapter 47: Chapter 47
Cassandra's POV
We had the best sleep of our lives. Julian gifted me a personalized keepsake love box as my wedding gift to store all the gifts and trinkets that I had received for my wedding. It was really handy and I loved it. I gave him a personalized bracelet and he absolutely adored it. We dozed off, cuddled with one another after talking nearly till midnight.
So the next morning, we absolutely missed the sound of the alarm. We woke up startled to hear a loud knock on our door, making Julian curse loudly. I pulled on my dressing gown and Julian pulled on a pair of sweatpants and got up to open the door.
"What took you so long? We were knocking nearly all morning," said Claire with a glare. Julian too glared back at her while I blushed seeing them giggle at him.
"What the hell! Why are you guys here?" asked Julian irritatedly as Azura and Claire smirked at him.
"This has become a routine for us, waking them up and getting them married," grumbled Claire, and Azura smiled knowingly.
"Yeah, do you remember last time with Tristan?" said Azura grumbling too. I rolled my eyes, remembering the last two times perfectly well.
"Don't worry, next will be our turn to wake you up," I said to Azura and she blushed to a deep shade of red.
"Okay, bye, we're sleeping more," said Julian trying to close the door but Claire placed her foot inside to stop him from closing the door.
"It's 8 o'clock already, c'mon, wake up sleepyheads. Mom will come to get you. Will you like that?" asked Claire. Julian looked at her with a horrified expression on his face.
"Why? Can't a guy sleep in peace?" he protested and they all groaned. It was always the same old story every time. All the brothers were totally the same.
"Hey, it's your wedding today, bro. Remember?" asked Claire with an eye-roll while Julian scoffed at her. As if he had forgotten! Why the need to get ready at the crack of dawn?
"Mom's orders, we need to get Cassie ready," Azura said as Julian rolled his eyes and walked away grumbling to himself.
"I'm coming in 15 minutes," I told them as they nodded and winked.
"Happy making out with a grumpy groom," joked Claire as she left finally.
"What's with mom and gran? Do you really need to start getting ready at 8 o'clock when the wedding is at 2 o'clock?" grumbled Julian. I sighed knowing that he was right.
"I'll do what they say. Don't you wish to get married?" I asked him. He nodded with a sulk.
"Of course, I do," he said.
"I'll have to take care of Max as well. Maybe that's why mom wants me to start the day now. Cheer up, Julian. We'll soon see one another at the altar. I'm sure we can wait until then?" I said to him, holding onto his cheek, trying to convince him. I know it's just wedding jitters for the two of us.
He pulled me to him, "More than you can ever imagine," he kissed me and I kissed him back. "This is a terrible way to start our wedding day. Don't you think so?" he asked and I nodded.
A bout of nausea hit me and I ran to the washroom to throw up. Julian helped me and finally, I returned back to the room, completely drained and tired. I freshened up and got ready. I prayed to God that I didn't fall sick today at least. I needed the energy to go through everything the whole day.
"Are you alright?" asked Julian worriedly and I nodded.
"Yeah," I reassured him. He insisted on escorting me downstairs. Everyone looked up especially aunt Emily, giving me a judgemental look since I was the last one to arrive at the breakfast table.
"What's the matter, Cassie? Are you okay?" asked mom, worriedly. The whole family was at the breakfast table as Julian led me to a chair and helped me into it. I sank into it.
"No, mom. I just threw up just a few minutes ago and now I'm feeling very weak and very nauseated," I told her.
"It's just stress on an empty stomach, dear. You need to eat small frequent meals throughout the day. If you stay on an empty stomach, you'll fall sick," said gran and I nodded. Julian served me while aunt Emily gave me disapproving glances every now and then.
Nora was feeding Max who seemed to be very excited today and co-operated with her. Relieved, I could concentrate on my own food in peace. Julian sat beside me and kept serving me. Although I asked him to stop due to embarrassment, he ignored my requests. Just as gran said, I felt much better after eating a little. It relaxed me knowing it wasn't anything serious. I didn't want anything to hamper my special day.
"I'm feeling better," I told Julian after breakfast and he smiled feeling a little relieved.
"Are you sure? Do you need me for anything," he asked with concern.
"Yes, I'm sure. I don't need you now, Julian. You can go and get ready," I told him.
"Okay. Don't worry about Max. I'll see to him and get him ready," said Julian. I felt relieved and smiled at him thankfully. With him shouldering Max's responsibility I felt quite relaxed and much better.
"Thanks, what would I do without you," I said looking grateful. Max gave me a little hug and clutched onto Julian's hand to go.
"You would never be without me," he stated making me smile.
"See you at the altar then," I said getting up to go to our room where I would be getting ready.
"Yeah, our next kiss will be as a married couple," he said with a grin, picking up Max in his arms and walking away with a bounce in his step. Nora ran after him breathlessly while I shook my head at them and walked slowly to my room to finally get ready for my own wedding.
