Chapter 148: Chapter 148

Tristan's POV

We reached Athens International Airport early the next morning. A car was sent from our hotel, Springwell Palace Acropolis in Athens to pick us up from the airport. I saw the excitement in Amelia's eyes as she took in the beautiful heritage city while we drove towards our hotel.

"Do you have a hotel here as well?" She asked, with wide eyes. I smiled. She had no idea how many hotels we owned.

"Yes, we'd be staying at our hotel here which is located just steps away from the Acropolis and the old town of Plaka. Every room has a stunning view of the Acropolis. You'll love it," I told her.

"Wow! I can't wait to go out and check out everything. How many days are we staying here?" she asked me eagerly.

"Two nights, then we'll go to Santorini," I told her.

"Yes, yes, I've heard of Santorini," she said eagerly. We reached the hotel in five minutes as it was just 6 o'clock in the morning and the city was still asleep. It was a stunning, palatial hotel in one of the most historic neighborhoods of the city.

"Wow! This is a hotel? It looks like some historic building actually," said Amelia, making me smile. We checked in and were soon shown to our room. I had chosen the special Acropolis Terrace room for us as it provided an unlimited view of the Acropolis from the privacy of the bed. It would be a different experience as well, exactly what we needed for our honeymoon.

Our breakfast was served in our room and afterward, we freshened up quickly as Amelia was bursting with excitement, wanting to go out and explore. We took a walk, hand in hand down the main road to check out what Athens looked like at 7 o'clock in the morning. It seemed that it was a buzzing metropolis with a laid-back lifestyle. The streets were filled with cafes, and these were filled with people having a good time, mostly tourists like us.

We went to a small souvenir shop located a stone's throw away from our hotel. Amelia bought a few things for everyone and we walked back to the hotel. Our tour guide had arranged for a day of sightseeing for us and we couldn't wait to start. We started with a visit to the Acropolis which was an ancient citadel located on a rocky outcrop above the city of Athens. It contained the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historical significance, with the most famous being the Parthenon. Also known as sacred Rock, this UNESCO World Heritage site was definitely synonymous with Athens. Afterward, we visited the Acropolis museum, the Panathenaic Stadium, Syntagma Square, and Constitution Square, and then we returned back to our hotel for lunch.

"So, how was the experience?" I asked Amelia over lunch.

"Overwhelming, thanks for this. I'm glad that we've come here to make memories to last us a lifetime," she said with a warm smile lighting up her face.

"This is just the beginning, love. There'll be many more to come," I told her. "Do you wish to go out after lunch," I asked her, hoping that she would decline.

"No, I'm tired. We could go out in the evening," she said. I grinned as it gave me the idea of starting off with our honeymoon in the true sense of the term. Amelia might have sensed it as she smiled shyly but didn't say a word. The food was awesome, Greek hospitality was at its best. After lunch we sat at the terrace for a while, breathing in the fresh air and soaking in the warmth.

Mom called up a few minutes ago, even gran talked to us. "Have you started off already?" teased gran.

"Started off with what exactly?" I asked gran and she chuckled. I put her on speaker mode and Amelia just facepalmed.

"You know, baby-making!" laughed gran.

"Gran please, give us at least two years to get adjusted to our new relationship," I protested. Gran chuckled on the other end.

"Two years? I won't live that long to see your children," she exclaimed.

"Gran, of course, you'll live that long. What will happen to you? You're still young!" I laughed.

"Stop making excuses, Tris. You two have known each other for almost a decade," said gran.

"Okay, bye, gran. I'll just follow your advice," I told her, chuckling and disconnecting the call. A pink-faced Amelia looked up at me. I stood up and pulled her to her feet.

"Let's grant gran's wish!" I said pulling her towards the bedroom.

"Please, Jay. Let it happen naturally," she said but I wasn't listening. I wanted her and I would have her now. Soon we had stripped off our clothes and were lying on the bed, skin to skin. We kissed passionately and I loved the sun-kissed look that she had after our day's outing. Her brea*ts felt heavier than usual but I didn't give it much thought. I loved everything about her, she made me uncontrollably hard. After two sessions, we fell asleep out of sheer exhaustion.

It was late afternoon when we woke up. We went for a stroll around the streets of Plaka and then when it was time, we watched a beautiful romantic movie at Cine Paris. It was one of the oldest open-air cinemas in Athens, and it's still one of the most popular cinemas for the locals thanks to its fantastic location in Plaka, facing the Parthenon. Every time I visited Athens, I had always wanted to experience this place but hadn't been able to take out time. Amelia clapped with joy for getting to watch a movie that had been on her bucket list for the last two months.

I got us chicken gyro wraps with Tzatziki, Tiropita, beef and vegetable souvlaki, and walnut cake. We shared the food as we watched the movie from the small private balcony seat that I had chosen for us. It was definitely a memory we wouldn't forget in a while.

Afterward, we reached the hotel and cuddled up to take a look at all the photographs that we had taken throughout the day. Tomorrow would be our second day here and we would make more memories. I was looking forward to it. Amelia suddenly started to feel very exhausted and she just fell asleep. It has been a very exhausting week for us and we could just take it easy tomorrow.

I had planned for us to sail to the stunning Saronic Islands tomorrow for a day trip. I hadn't told Amelia about my plan. I knew that the Saronic is renowned for its lush landscape, stunning neoclassical architecture, and vibrant restaurant and nightlife scene but I had never had the time to visit it at all. Stefan and Julian had attempted cliff jumping into the Aegean Sea and had clicked a million pictures of themselves. I too wanted to do the same but maybe if Amelia wasn't comfortable with it, we could opt out as well.

I stared at her with tenderness. She looked so tired and I stroked her hair tenderly. I was so lucky to have her in my life. I could spend my whole life making memories with her.
