Chapter 94: Chapter 94

Chapter 94 Revenge

MAIA'S POV

It was like in my dream. A bright light emitted in the room. It was so bright that I could barely see anything.

"Your love shone through your hardest times. You proved what you are willing to risk for your pack and your loved ones. I will give you an hour to help your pack. Once your hour is over, you will be back to your hideous form," a voice of a lady said.

Before I could even utter a word, the light disappeared.

It took me a while to adjust after that bright light. As soon as my sight improved, I looked at Lucius, staring at his own hands.

"Lucius! You are a man!" I exclaimed so excitedly.

He looked at me and pulled me into a hug as his lips found its way to mine. After a quick kiss, he pulled back and hugged me tightly.

"Oh Sweet Goddess! I have wanted to do that since earlier!" He exclaimed.

When I remembered what the woman said, I immediately pulled back from the hug and looked into his eyes.

"Lucius, you have to hurry. You only have one hour before you go back to being a beast. We have to help the pack as much as we can in that one hour," I said.

"Don't worry. I got it covered. You stay here, and I will be back in an hour, okay?" He replied.

"No!!! I am not going to stay here while you are out there. I will fight beside you. I need to fight for my people, not go and hide," I argued.

"Listen, Maia. We don't have time to argue about this. You are staying here until I come back. It's not up for discussion or argument. My decision is final, and you are not going anywhere," He said.

Before I could even argue more, he had already left the dungeon.

"Argh! Damn it! I am not staying here like a weakling," I exclaimed to myself.

I followed his scent until I found myself on a messy battlefield.

There were blood and dead bodies everywhere. Sounds of growling and fighting filled my ears as I was in a moment of shock.

I shook my head to clear all my thoughts as I focused on finding my mate. It did not take me long until I found him fighting off two wolves simultaneously. I found a spear on the ground and picked it up. I threw it to the wolf who was about to attack Lucius from behind.

When he saw the wolf fall to the ground, our eyes met, and I saw a moment of anger in his eyes.

'To hell with it,' I told myself.

He ran to where I was standing and pulled me behind a bush.

"Did I not tell you to stay inside?" He whispered, looking around for any enemies.

"And did I not tell you that I am not going to do that? Lucius, we need all the help we can get, including me. So, either we fight each other and end up wasting our time and get killed in the process, or we use it wisely to kill as many enemies as we can," I replied.

He leaned his forehead into mine when he saw that I would not back down.

'Stay close to me at all times, okay? I can't protect you if I can't see you,' he said through the mind link.

'You don't have to worry about me. I will be fine,' I replied.

He gave me a quick peck on the lips before taking my hand and pulling me behind him.

Once he let go of my hand, I quickly looked for anything sharp to defend myself and attack. Luckily, the same spear I used to kill the wolf earlier was just a couple of feet from where I was standing.

With a spear in my hand and Lucius behind my back, we fought off many wolves non-stop.

'We need to start slowly disappearing. Your hour is almost up. No one must see you in your cursed form.' I said through the mind link while fighting off another wolf.

Just as we were about to make our way to the palace, the person that I had been looking for arrived - Uriah.

Ever since we heard the rumors about the gathering of the packs and their plans of attacking our pack, I had a hunch that it was Uriah behind all of it. Seeing him confirmed my guess.

"It's about time you showed up, you coward," Lucius spat, facing Uriah while standing right in front of me.

"Did you miss me that much, dear brother?" Uriah asked.

"I have been looking for you so that I can understand this stupidity of yours," Lucius said.

"Oh, were you? I mean, I have been out here since last night, and I have only gotten a whiff of your scent an hour ago. I must say, you two make a great team," Uriah replied.

"Sounds like something only a coward like you would say," I spat.

"I see you still have the spark in you, babe. I thought you might have lost it after hanging out with my boring brother for so long," Uriah said.

A loud growl erupted from Lucius. Luckily, I was fast enough to stop him from clawing his brother right there and then.

As much as I hated Uriah, giving him a quick death would be too easy for him. He deserved to die in a slow and painful death.

"Are you jealous, my dear big brother? You know, Maia, you can always come with me if you feel that he doesn't satisfy you enough. I doubt that he even knows how to please a woman in bed," Uriah said, trying to get Lucius mad.

'Don't listen to a word he says, Lucius. He is trying to get under your skin so that you will attack him,' I exclaimed through the mind link.

'I know, but if he does not shut up, then I will make him,' Lucius replied.

"Why are you doing this, Uriah? I thought that you had already grown up like a real man, but it turned out that you are nothing but a child," Lucius asked.

"Look at you talking about being a man. Are you even a man, my dear brother?" Uriah replied.

Lucius was already fuming with so much anger when I stopped him from making a move.

"What the hell do you want? What is your purpose? Be a man and answer me!" Lucius yelled.

"I want revenge!" Uriah spat.

Revenge?
