Chapter 95: Chapter 95

Chapter 95 Confrontation

LUCIUS' POV

"I want revenge!" Uriah spat.

"Are you fucking serious right now? Revenge? Are you really that childish?" I exclaimed.

"Childish? Did you think that I would just easily forgive you for what you did to Mom? Do you really think that I am that stupid?" He asked.

"How many times do I have to tell you that I did not kill Mom? Why would I even want to kill her? I loved her so much," I exclaimed.

"Are you still not tired of pretending? I am not 8, Lucius. Stop telling everyone that you did not kill her because I saw you!" He said, accusing me.

"You saw me? What the hell are you talking about, Uriah?" I asked.

This revelation shocked me more than the fact that he still hated me for what happened in the past.

"That's right. I saw how you killed Mom. She begged you not to do it, but you never listened to her. You even told her that you didn't need an incompetent mother like her and that you were better off without her," he said, his eyes burning with anger.

"What the hell are you talking about, Uriah? I never said any of those words. None of those things happened," I replied, confused about all the things he was talking about.

I tried approaching him to get to him, but he stopped me before I could even take a step.

"Don't you dare come anywhere near me, you monster! I don't have a brother who is a monster like you!" He yelled.

His words were like knives that were cutting through my chest.

"Uriah, you don't mean that. Have you forgotten? You and I were best friends. We used to be partners in crime. Don't you remember how we would run around the palace and pull pranks on every single person?" I asked, hoping he would remember the best times of our lives.

"That brother of mine is already dead. You are not him. He died the moment he killed Mom," he spat.

"Why do you keep saying that I killed Mom? Tell me, where did you see me kill her? Or better yet, who told you that? Have you forgotten where you were during the war? Yeah, that's right. You were in the safe house with the women, children, and old people. Dad didn't want you to fight with us because you were still too young. You were only 16, remember?" I said.

He was quiet for a second before he looked away.

'Lucius, your arms. You need to go back to the dungeons. NOW!' Maia exclaimed through the mind link.

I looked down at my arms and saw that it was starting to change into a beast.

Damn this stupid curse!

'I can't leave now. I need to get to the bottom of this with Uriah. Besides, it's a little too late for me to go back into hiding. You should get out of here while I distract Uriah and the rest,' I said.

'No, Lucius! I am not leaving you here. I will be wherever you are, and that is final!' She argued.

'Maia, please. Let's not argue about this now. The pack needs you. Go!' I urged her.

'The pack needs their King Alpha. I NEED MY MATE. I NEED YOU, LUCIUS!' She exclaimed.

Before I could even reply to Maia, Uriah spoke.

"Stop trying to change the subject, Lucius. Can't you see? You are being punished for killing Mom. Your arms are enough proof that you are nothing but a monster – a beast!" He said.

All eyes were on me as they stared at my arms that were already looking like an ugly beast.

I was about to spit back at Uriah when Maia pointed out something to me.

'Lucius, wait! Didn't you say that nobody knew about your curse except Neal and a couple of warriors in the pack?' She asked.

'Yeah, but I don't see how that is related to what is happening right now,' I replied, slightly annoyed.

'How the hell does Uriah know about your curse then?' She asked.

Shit! She was right. Uriah was no longer in the palace when I first turned into this hideous beast, so how did he know about my curse?

"You speak as if you know so much. Why don't you tell me what the hell you are talking about then? Why don't you enlighten every single person you have managed to drag into this mess, my dear brother?" I asked.

He looked quite startled when I asked him to explain, which meant he was hiding something.

"Stop with your nonsense, Lucius. You have already been caught, and it's time you pay for all your crimes. I will make sure that you will not get away with this. You will pay for every single thing," he said.

"If you can prove that I did all that you are accusing me of, then I will be punished. Until then, I am innocent until proven guilty," I replied.

"Aren't your arms enough proof?" He asked.

"What do my arms have to do with this?" I asked.

"Your arms are proof that you are a beast. Stop denying it. You have been cursed for killing Mom. The Moon Goddess punished you for your gruesome act," he said.

"I am the beast? What nonsense are you talking about? Even if I was cursed, as you said, how would you know that I was? That is unless you are the one who cursed me, or you know who did," I replied.

This time, all eyes were on him. As he saw everyone starting to question him, he began to panic.

"N-no. Of-of course I don't," he stuttered.

"Are you sure? Because you don't sound like you are, Uriah," I asked, pushing him to spill his secrets.

"He is right, Uriah. Why don't you tell us how you know about such information? If you didn't do it, then who did?" One of the Alphas asked.

Uriah's heart started racing as his panic was becoming more visible.

"Go on. Enlighten me and the rest of the people that you dragged into this mess, how you could accuse me of such a thing," I said.

He glared at me while I simply smirked at him.

'Checkmate,' Lucian said.

He opened his mouth as if he was about to speak when someone spoke.

"I did."
