Chapter 91: Chapter 91
Chapter 91 Rumors
LUCIUS' POV
Even though it had already been a week since the ceremony, I still could not forget the way she looked that night. The way that simple dress made her look like a Goddess and the way it hugged her beautiful curves. I was surprised my pants did not rip open from the boner that I was getting.
If it wasn't because of the ceremony and the rituals, I would have gotten her out of there so quickly before anyone would have had the chance to lay their eyes on her. Even Lucian was fighting to be let out.
All we wanted to do was to rip that white dress from her skin and make her scream our names all night long which we certainly did for two days. The way her moans came out as screams that filled the cabin room sent such great encouragement to us.
Even just thinking about it, it was giving me such a huge boner. Unfortunately for me, I am stuck in the office going through all the requests for expansion, joining the pack, moving to another pack, and many other things.
"Will you stop thinking about Queen Luna for a second? The room is starting to smell like sex," Neal complained, pulling me out of my little sexual trance.
I glared at him and took a quick sniff of the room. He was indeed right. My sexual desire could be smelled all over the room.
"How many more requests are left?" I asked, changing the subject.
"A couple more. About 20ish more requests left," he replied.
"Why are there even so many requests to begin with?" I complained.
"Maybe if you did not take almost a week off after the ceremony, there wouldn't be so much," he replied.
"Damn you!" I cursed at him.
As much as I hated it, he was right. Two days was not enough to mate. So, I had to take extra days off to spend time with my Queen.
"What time are they coming back from the pack visit?" I asked.
Maia left this morning to visit the pack hospital, school, and the pack- house to get updates and check if there is anything that the people needed urgently. As much as I wanted to go with her, I had a lot of work to finish. So, I sent her to the pack-house with fifteen highly trained guards.
"You know that you can ask Queen Luna herself that question right? You can just easily mind link her and you will know the answer," he implied.
"Stop acting like a smart ass and just answer the damn question, will you? I don't want to sound like a clingy mate," I replied.
"Asking about her whereabouts and what time she is coming back is not being clingy, it is called being worried," he said.
I threw a glare at him and scoffed.
'How's the visit going?' I asked Maia through the mind link.
'It's good. I am meeting a lot of people that do a lot of great things for the pack. They have also given me a list of requests and things needed in the pack,' she replied cheerfully.
'That is really good to hear, my Queen. Please don't overtire yourself, okay?' I said.
'Don't worry. I am doing nothing but listening to them. I don't think anyone will ever get tired from what I am doing. What about you? Have you finished all the paperwork you needed to finish?' She replied, asking about my work.
I lay back on my swivel chair and let out a sigh.
'Not yet, but almost done. I miss you though. I feel that I have been stuck in this office for so long and that I have not seen you in ages. What time are you coming home?' I replied with a slight of a sad tone.
She let out a chuckle that gave me good chills in my heart.
'Don't you worry. I will be home before you know it. Let me just finish some things in the pack-house and we will be on our way. Do you want anything?' She asked.
'Just you, home safely,' I replied.
'Okay. Get back to work now so that you can finish early. See you soon,' she said.
'Can't wait,' I replied before going back to the papers in front of me.
For the next 90 minutes, I went through about 15 requests until I called it a day.
"Okay, that's it! I have gone through enough requests to last me a month. If I don't stop soon, I might tear up these requests," I exclaimed, complaining.
"I am quite impressed. You lasted longer than I thought you would, King Alpha," Neal teased.
I threw a pen at him which he easily caught while laughing.
"I need to finish all of this paperwork before the full moon. Even though we have gone through a new shift for the guards, I still can't shake this weird feeling that's eating me up. I have a bad feeling about something I can't pinpoint," I replied, exasperated.
"Don't overthink too much, Lucius. We have already done the best we could when it comes to protecting our people. All shifts have been changed and there is not a single pattern that could connect to the rotation of guards. If they decide to attack anytime soon, we are already prepared. Everybody knows that our fighters are the strongest in the country. We will be fine," he said.
I let out a sigh and covered my face with my hands when the phone rang.
"Hello, Blood Moon Pack's office," Neal answered.
I tried not to listen in on the conversation as I massaged my temple.
"It's Alpha Cassian. He said that he wanted to talk to you about an urgent matter," Neal said, giving me the phone.
"Alpha Cassian, how are you?" I greeted, asking him how he is.
"How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me Alpha? I am family, Lucius. There is no need for formalities when it is just the two of us," he said.
"Sorry, Uncle Cassian. It's just a habit," I replied.
"Well, I heard about the rumors. I am assuming that they are true since a friend of mine just gave me a call a couple of minutes ago. Some of your so-called allies are calling other nearby packs to attack your pack," he began.
"I already heard about it last month. Whether it is true or not, we have already made extra precautions just in case," I replied.
"I knew you would, but what irks me is the reason behind their teaming up. They said that a rumor was going around saying that there has been a beastly monster roaming around killing innocent she-wolves and that someone said that it was you," he explained.
The moment I heard those words, I felt my heart stop beating and it was for a bad reason. Neal looked at me with the same exact facial expression that I had on my face.
"You know how rumors can be, Uncle Cassian. I appreciate the heads up though," I said as calmly as possible.
"You have never done anything that could make me doubt you, Lucius. I have watched you turn to who you are today. I would not be asking you any questions. All I want you to know is that you have my pack to back you up when these morons decide to go against the strongest pack in the country. Don't hesitate to ask for help, kid. We are a family. Always remember that," he replied.
"Thanks, Uncle Cassian," I said.
"Well, I have to start training my men 10 times harder now just in case you need reinforcements. Take care of your mate and your pack. Keep me updated," he replied.
After our call ended, I felt my face drained with blood. I knew that there was only one person behind all of these rumors and that was Uriah.
