Chapter 90 Ceremony

MAIA'S POV

Finally, after a couple more days of running around and making sure that everything was where it should have been, we were ready for the ceremony.

"Queen Luna, the make-up team will be arriving soon. You need to take a shower now," Emily said.

I looked at the time and saw that it was already five in the afternoon.

"Oh shoot! I lost track of time. Thank you for reminding me, Emily. I will go ahead and take a shower," I replied.

I went and took a quick shower in a span of 15 minutes that even Emily was surprised.

"Did you forget something, Queen Luna?" She asked as soon as she saw me exit the bathroom.

"Nope. I am about to dry my hair so that it would be easier for them to style my hair when they get here," I replied casually.

"Are you trying to tell me that you took a bath in 15 minutes, Queen Luna?" She asked with her eyebrows raised.

"Yeah? Is that a problem?" I asked, looking at her.

"No, Queen Luna. I am just surprised by how quick it took you to take a bath. Forgive me," she replied.

"Oh, silly. You'll be surprised with what I can do. On days when I was late to work, it would take me 5 minutes to take a quick bath. Then, there were days where it would take me at least 3 hours to take a bath," I said.

She looked at me with her mouth open.

I simply laughed at her reaction and continued blow drying my hair.

When she recovered from her mini shock, she stood behind me and helped with blow drying my hair.

We just finished drying my hair when there was a knock on my door.

"That must be the make-up team," I said.

Emily went to the door and opened it.

"Queen Luna, me and my team would be preparing you for the ceremony," the woman said.

"Thank you for coming," I replied.

With a single snap of her fingers, the girls with her began the preparation.

I simply sat on my chair while they did the wonders. In the span of one hour, they were able to make me look like a Goddess.

When I first saw myself in the mirror, I did not recognize myself at first. Comparing how I looked at that moment to how I normally looked, it was like magic.

"Wow! You guys did amazing!" I exclaimed.

"To be honest, Queen Luna, there wasn't much that we did. You are already born beautiful and with a slight touch of make-up, we were able to turn you into the real Goddess you are," the girl who did my make-up said.

"I wish we had more time to exchange compliments but we need to get you in your dress before the King Alpha kicks the door down," Emily uttered.

I let out a laugh as I shook my head.

"Unfortunately, Emily is right. You know how impatient the King Alpha is," I said.

"I bet that the King Alpha won't be able to keep his hands off of you, Queen Luna," another girl added.

I couldn't help, but blush at the thought. She was definitely right.

After a couple more seconds of appreciating how I looked, I followed Emily in my walk-in closet. She helped zip up my dress which was a beautiful white long lace dress that had an open back. There were flower designs on the laces that made it simple yet elegant. The flower crown on my head completed the whole look.

It amazed me how everything looked beautiful.

We were all in awe that everyone was in shock with how I looked that night.

A knock on the door snapped us back to reality. Emily went to attend to the door as I took extra seconds to admire my reflection on the mirror.

'This is really happening, Avi, is it?' I asked.

'Yes, Queen. This is the day that everyone had been waiting for. This is your calling, Maia. Go and own it,' she replied.

'What will I do without you, Avi?' I exclaimed.

Avi had been my everything - my teacher, my protector, my encourager, my doctor, you name it. She had been more than just my half. She was my better half.

'You would have not survived this long if not for me,' she said.

I let out a small laugh and agreed with her.

'Unfortunately, that might be true,' I added.

"Queen Luna, the escorts are ready for you," Emily said, pulling me from my conversation with Avi.

"Okay. Let us go then," I replied.

I took a deep breath before heading towards the door.

As part of my protective security detail, I was to be escorted by 10 of the best fighters from my room all the way to the field. It wasn't really a long walk but he had the whole path covered with a guard until where the main event was. What was once a trail of flowers became a trail of guards.

The walk took us a couple of minutes and it was the most excruciating couple of minutes of my life. I swear that every single werewolf around that night heard the wild beating of my heart.

As if it was some kind of magic, all the nervousness inside of me disappeared the moment I saw Lucius. Even from 30 feet away, I saw his eyes twinkle. It was as if he couldn't wait to keep me close to him. The moment that I was a couple of feet away from him, he immediately pulled me into a hug.

"Lucius, people are watching," I murmured into his ears as quietly as possible since we were all werewolves.

"Let them watch. I don't care," he simply replied.

Luckily, my face was hidden from the crowd. I would have died more if the people could have seen my red tomato face.

I was more than thankful when one of the elders cleared his throat and began the ceremony. Once he was done with all the necessities he had to say, it was time for me to take the oath.

"Do you, Maia Lyons, accept the Blood Moon Pack to love, support, and protect?" The elder asked.

"I do," I replied while looking Lucius in the eyes.

"Do you, Lucius Olson, take Maia Lyons as your mate and the Queen Luna of the Blood Moon pack?" He asked.

"A million I do's," Lucius replied.

I, along with the rest of the pack members couldn't help but giggle at his response.

"Do you, Maia Lyons, take Lucius Olson as your mate and be the Queen Luna of the Blood Moon Pack?" He asked.

I smiled at Lucius as I answered, "I do."

He gave Lucius a small knife with which he used to make a small cut on his palm before giving me the knife. I did the same thing and winced a bit as the knife made the cut. Once we were done, we held each other's hands and squished them hard until a couple drops of blood fell on the basin of water. When our blood united, I immediately knew that I was already part of the pack from the immense emotions I felt in my heart.

"Are you okay? You should block everyone out first until you get a better hang with it," Lucius suggested.

"It's okay. I think I can handle it," I replied.

"I now introduce to you, Kind Alpha and Queen Luna of Blood Moon Pack," the elder announced.

We walked to the center of the stage as we watched them howl in happiness.

It was indeed a great night.

We finished off the night with the whole pack going out for a pack run.
