MAIA'S POV

I felt a burning sensation with every step I took. Instead of letting me shift, Lucius insisted that I just ride on his back. I did not argue with him anymore since every second we wasted added another second of fear to that poor child.

My heart was beating fast while I was on Lucius' back. I was worried for the child. She must have been so scared and helpless. We needed to find her fast.

As soon as we arrived at the pack-house, I heard a mother crying.

"Queen Luna, my baby is missing. She was right here, please help me," one of the mothers cried.

"It's okay, we will find her. They are already looking for her," I replied.

"Queen Luna, the King Alpha told you to please stay inside with the rest of us while he goes with the others to track Amber," the head Omega said.

I turned my head and saw Lucius standing a couple of feet behind me. I walked over to him and patted his head.

"Be careful, please bring her back." I whimpered.

He nodded his head before running off to the forest. I watched him disappear into the woods before heading inside the pack-house.

I could see parents hugging onto their kids as their lives depended on it.

A couple of minutes have passed and I felt ashamed for sitting here in the room and doing nothing.

'Where are they? They should be back by now and should have found Amber, what the hell is happening?' I asked in my head.

'We should help, Maia. The more people looking for her, the faster we will find her,' Avi suggested.

'You are right,' I agreed.
