'Damn it! Who is this asshole interrupting us at this time of the day?' I snapped in my head.

Before she could even reply, two arms engulfed me in a hug with thousands of minty scents.

"Sorry for keeping you waiting. Had some rogue issues I had to deal with real quick," he said, pulling me closer to him.

"Rogues? There are still more issues about those nasty mutts?" I asked.

"Nothing you should worry about. It has already been taken care of," he said.

I turned myself around and snaked my arms around his neck.

"Are they gone for good?" I asked although I knew the answer to that already.

"Don't worry about those rogues. Nothing can stop the two of us from spending a splendid weekend," he replied.

I did the first thing that came into my mind which was completely so not me and that was to kiss him.

It was like I had this sudden urge to be closer to him than we already were.

Luckily, Lucius did not need to be told twice. The moment my lips landed on his, his lips went straight to work.

"King Alpha, I am so sorry to disturb you at this time of the hour, but there were some rogue sightings near the pack-house and one child was reported missing," I heard the voice said.

I sat up and tried to see who was on the other side of the door. A few seconds later, Lucius closed the bedroom door and went back to the bed.

"Which child is missing? Do they have any leads right now?" I asked, panicking.

"The trackers are working on it right now. I will have Emily come and stay with you while I go and check out what happened in the pack-house," he replied.

"No! I am coming with you. I want to help find the missing child. You can't possibly expect me to just sit here and do nothing. I am going with you and it's final," I insisted.

I let out a wince as soon as I stood up from the bed.

'Damn it! Why does it have to happen today?' I scolded myself.

"You should just stay here and rest. The more you try to move, the more painful it's going to be," he said.

I shook my head and let out a deep breath.

"I am going," I said.
