Chapter 72: Chapter 72
Chapter 72 Paradise
MAIA'S POV
The next couple of days went by fast. After the misunderstanding that Lucius and I had and the dinner, I felt like our relationship was getting stronger than before.
Avi still thought that it was all useless, and that we were just wasting time. Unfortunately, I had one horny wolf. She kept nagging about completing the mating process and jumping his bones.
I was busy painting the beautiful scenery from my balcony when Lucius came.
"What are you painting?" He asked, snaking his arms around my waist.
"The forest. It is beautiful when it is just a couple of hours before the sun sets," I replied, staring at the scenery that was about to change color.
"Well, there is nothing more beautiful than the Goddess in front of me," he said, burying his head on my neck.
'I don't know how you can be happy with him just snuggling in your neck when you two can be humping on the bed,' Avi commented.
'Avi! How many times do I have to tell you to stop commenting on all your horny thoughts? If you don't stop, I will block you for a week and I won't take you out for a run. Don't push me,' I scolded her.
"Maia, are you okay?" Lucius asked, pulling me from my conversation with Avi.
"Huh?" I asked, a bit startled.
"I have been calling your name, but you seemed lost in your thoughts. Is there anything bothering you?" He asked.
"Oh, sorry. No, there is nothing wrong. Was just mesmerized by the sunset," I partially lied.
"I will miss you," he said.
I slightly turned my head around so that I was looking at him.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"The full moon is in a couple of days," he said.
I turned myself around and looked him in the eye. I couldn't help but be worried about him.
"Is there any way I could help?" I asked.
"It's not safe for you to be down there. I can't control myself during a full moon and I don't want to hurt you. I can't risk it," he replied.
"There is nothing you should be worried about. I know you won't hurt me. Your wolf won't let you do so. Have a little faith in yourself," I said.
"You have never seen me during a full moon, Maia. I am worse than a monster," he replied.
"I don't have to see you during a full moon to know that you will not hurt me. I am your mate, Lucius. No matter what it is, I will be by your side. We will get through it together," I insisted.
Lucius stared at me for a couple of seconds before letting out a smile.
"How did I end up with such an amazing mate like you?" He asked, leaning his forehead on mine.
After he finally agreed to let me be there with him in the dungeon during the full moon, we went to the city to have dinner at one of his favorite restaurants. We had a fantastic time talking about random stuff.
When we got back to the castle, we stayed in my room while he told me more about his childhood. We both lost track of time and I did not realize that I had already fallen asleep.
I woke up the next morning with an arm draped over my waist. A smile crept to my face, waking up next to my mate. For the first time in a long time, I felt refreshed. Recharged.
Unfortunately, my bladder had to ruin my moment. No matter how long I tried to hold my pee, I had to get out of the bed and empty my kidney, which was overflowing with urine.
My plan of sneaking out of bed and getting back quickly was ruined when I could not move the heavy arms of my hunk mate. Finally, after a bunch of tries, I successfully removed his arm and quickly got out of bed.
When I said nothing, I literally meant there was nothing more fulfilling than sitting on the bowl as you empty your bladder after holding your urine the whole night.
I washed my hands and did my morning routine before sitting on the bed.
As I stared at him, who was sleeping peacefully, I couldn't help but raise my hands to touch his face. The sparks that erupted from my hands up to my arms electrified my whole body, waking up a sleeping cell within me.
"Good morning, gorgeous," Lucian greeted me.
I immediately pulled back my hand out of embarrassment.
"No," he growled at me while pulling my hand back to his face.
He let out a purr when my hand was back on his face. He leaned into my hand and let out a smile.
I didn't know why, but this simple action made my heart go somersault.
We ended up cuddling for hours and got out of bed around 10:30 a.m. Even Neal was surprised when he did not see Lucius in his office by 8. After having our brunch by my balcony, he left for work. If it wasn't because of the full moon that was happening in three days, he would have stayed longer.
I was on my way to the garden when I bumped into Neal and he told me they would work overtime in the office to finish a lot of work before the full moon. So, I prepared snacks and dinner for them.
Once the banana bread I baked was ready, I placed it on another plate. Emily helped me prepare the tray with juice and the snacks. I carried them up to their office, even though Emily insisted on helping.
The guards simply smiled at me and bowed their heads as they opened his office door.
"Queen Luna," Neal greeted me as he was the first to see me.
"I come bearing gifts for the both of you," I said.
As soon as Lucius saw me enter his office, he got up from his chair and was immediately in front of me. If I was a human, I would have dropped the tray that I was holding at his inhumane speed.
He took the tray from me and placed it on the table before engulfing me in a hug. As he snuggled his head into my neck, I did not realize that it had also relaxed my whole body. We were standing like that for a couple of minutes before he pulled away.
"I know that you two are working very hard, so I made banana bread for you two. Something to eat while working," I said.
Lucius took me by the hand as he led me towards the couch where he had me sit on his lap. I didn't bother telling him otherwise because I know he will not budge.
"Can you adopt me, Queen Luna? I want to be spoiled like him," Neal said, chuckling.
Before I could even reply, a growl erupted from Lucius' lips, which made Neal laugh harder.
"I think you are already too old to be adopted, Neal," I replied.
He simply pouted as he enjoyed his second slice of banana bread.
I turned to Lucius and asked, "Don't you like the snacks? I can make you a new one. What do you want?"
He shook his head and looked me in the eye.
"I will eat later. All I want is to snuggle with you right now. I missed you," he said, making my heart flutter.
I smiled at him, and an idea popped up in my head. I took a slice of banana bread and started feeding him.
