LUCIUS' POV

"It's the Queen Luna," the guard said.

I quickly stood up from my chair, and I was at the door in two seconds.

I wanted to scold the guard for not letting my Queen enter right away, but I was more focused on seeing her.

When I got to the door, the guard moved out of the way and the excitement and smile on my face immediately disappeared when I saw who it was.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked, annoyed.

"If I call myself the Queen Luna, you come running fast. But when I announce myself as I am, you ignore me. Really, Lucius? Have you forgotten who I am?" She replied.

"I think you are the one who has forgotten who you are. Learn to know your place, Pamela," I spat.

"Ugh! Are you serious right now? Let me remind you, Lucius. I have stood with you through all these years, yet you treat me like this? You replace me with a good-for-nothing slut?" She scoffed.

"You don't call her a slut! Don't you dare forget who you are talking to, mutt! I am simply tolerating you right now out of respect. Don't make me regret it and send you back to your parents in pieces," I growled at her.

"Are you threatening me right now? Have you forgotten who I am? Must I remind you what I can do to you and your pack the moment I tell my father that the reason you are delaying the ceremony is because of that bitch? You, out of all people, should know what I am capable of," she spat.

Lucian wanted to jump out and snap her neck right there and then.

"Who do you think you are to threaten me, huh? Do you think you are so special that the entire world will bow at your feet? I think you are the one who is forgetting what I can do to your little pack. Do you think your father would support you when he finds out that you are still here trying to ruin my relationship with my mate?" I snapped, holding myself from choking her.

She gulped and stayed quiet.

"What? Cat got your tongue?" I asked.

I shook my head and scoffed at her, "Pathetic."

"Please do us both a favor and stop wasting my time. The sooner you accept that I have found my mate, the sooner you can start moving on and start a new life," I said, before leaving her behind.

"Don't you dare walk out on me, Lucius!" I heard her yell through the hallway.

"Watch me!" I yelled back as I kept on walking towards the elevator.

I waited for a couple of seconds until the elevator doors opened and then entered.

'I told you. You should have let me kill her from the very first day,' Lucian spat in my head.

'We are not killing anybody. Not even that annoying bitch,' I said, as I tried to calm down.

'How dare she call herself Queen Luna?! I swear I will snap her neck one of these days,' Lucian snapped.

The moment we reached our floor, I already smelled her scent, and it helped Lucian and I to calm down. By the time we reached her door, there was nothing else in my mind than wrapping my arms around her.

I opened the door and saw Emily reading a book out loud, as if she was talking to Maia. When she noticed my presence, she immediately stopped and got up from her seat.

"King Alpha," she greeted me with a slight bow.

"Please, continue with what you are doing," I said, heading over to the bed to sit next to Maia.

"Apologies, King Alpha. I just read in a book that when someone is in a coma, which I know Queen Luna isn't, reading to them helps stimulate their brains. So, I just wanted to try it out," She explained.

"Thank you, Emily. I know that you really care for her even before you knew she was Queen Luna. Thank you for always watching out for her," I said, looking at Maia.

"Would you like anything, King Alpha?" She asked.

"No. Why don't you take a rest? I'll look after her. I will call you if I am going to leave," I said.

"Okay, King Alpha," she replied.

Once she took her leave, I lay next to Maia and cuddled her. The sparks that erupted the moment our skins touched had Lucian jumping around. He was just so happy to be with our mate. Being this close was heaven for the both of us.

'When are we going to finish the mating process?' Lucian asked.

'You know that we have to take care of some things first before we can have the ceremony. We also need to take care of the Pamela issue,' I replied.

'Why can't we just kick her out? She knew from the start that all this would end when we met our mate. Why can't she just accept the fact and move on?' He asked.

'Have you forgotten that she actually has feelings for me? Did you already forget her confession?' I asked.

He simply scoffed before ignoring me.

As much as I really wanted Pamela to leave us alone, she won't really just leave because she was very stubborn and her feelings towards me made it harder. Even after she found out about my curse, it surprised me she even stayed. What surprised me even more was that she was still adamant about being the Queen Luna even after I told her I already found my mate.

I never really thought that she was really after the title that much. All this time, I thought that she just wanted to help. I guess I never really knew her.

I did not realize that I had already fallen asleep until someone woke me up.

"Lucius, wake up." the voice said.

"Five more minutes." I murmured.

"Lucius." the voice said again.
