Chapter 33: Chapter 33
Chapter 33 Inferior
MAIA'S POV
I locked myself in the attic for the next couple of days. I did not let anybody enter except for Emily. When Neal tried to visit the other day, I told Emily to tell him to leave. I was not in the mood to talk to Lucius or Neal at all.
"How long are you going to stay here, Queen Luna?" Emily asked.
"Emily, if you don't want me to lock you outside as well, you will stop calling me Queen Luna," I warned her.
Hearing someone call me Queen Luna was adding anger to me.
"I am sorry, Maia." she apologized, still hesitating to call me by my name.
I let out a sigh as I sat by the window.
"Is she still in the castle?" I asked Emily.
She knew who I was referring to.
"I think she is. She was trying to talk to King Alpha for the past couple of days, but she kept being stopped by either the guard outside her door or the guard outside King Alpha's office.
"To hell, I care. Besides, she had the guts to ride the King Alpha like her own horse." I spat, saying Lucius' title as if it was venom to my mouth.
I focused my attention outside while my blood was boiling with anger.
'Are you seriously going to lock yourself up in this stupid room while that bitch is somewhere around the castle? Why are you becoming such a pushover? Don't let that bitch's presence make you feel uncomfortable. She's the one who should be adjusting, not us.' Avi spat.
I began to think about her words and realized that she was right. I was not supposed to be hiding up here. If there was one thing that I could put this bitch on the edge, it would be Lucius' mark on my neck. I have the mark; she didn't. This was my territory, not hers. I was the Queen; she was not.
"Let us go back to my room, Emily," I announced with a devilish smile.
"Really?" she asked, surprised.
"Yes. It's about time we show her who the real Queen in this castle is." I replied.
I got up and headed outside the attic room. With Emily behind me, I headed back to my old room.
As soon as we arrived, I noticed that my bedroom door was slightly opened. With one sniff in the air, I knew that there was an intruder inside.
I knew that Emily sniffed the scent too because she was about to reach for my hand to stop me when I motioned for her to stop. I gave her a glance and a curt nod.
I slowly opened my slightly opened door and confirmed my suspicions - it was none other than the bitch.
"What are you doing here in my room?" I asked, my voice filled with pride and power.
'I guess it was because of Lucius' blood.' I thought to myself.
She looked scared that she had been caught and couldn't even look me in the eye.
"I asked you a question! Are you deaf or mute?" I spat.
"I am sorry. My curiosity got the best of me and entered your room without any permission." She apologized, her voice slightly shaking with fear.
"You must know that I don't like intruders in my room and most importantly, I don't like them touching my things without permission," I said, my voice laced with anger.
She immediately let go of my painting and put it back on the table.
"I...I...am sorry.." she apologized while stuttering.
I walked towards my painting table and she took a couple of steps away from it.
I stopped a couple of inches away from her and then glared at her.
"What else are you still doing here? Scram, you peasant!" I exclaimed.
She ran towards the room, but then stopped when she saw Lucius standing by the door. I tried to ignore his presence and looked somewhere else.
"What were you doing here in this room, Pamela?" he asked.
His voice wasn't soft or outraged.
I looked at them from the corner of my eye and saw that she was just looking at him as if begging for help.
'So she is the so-called Pamela. What a nosy little bitch!' I exclaimed in my head.
"I asked you a question!" Lucius asked again with a low growl coming from his throat.
"I... I.... just got lost, King Alpha. Please forgive me." She apologized.
"Take her," he ordered.
Two guards assisted her back to her room, I assumed.
I turned my back towards the door and looked out the balcony.
"Maia, will you please talk to me? Please let me explain," he begged, slowly walking towards me.
"I am already tired, Lucius. I want to rest." I said, brushing his shoulders as I headed over to my cabinet.
Emily was quick on her feet and assisted me in getting out a new set of clean clothes.
"Emily, can you please prepare me a warm bath?" I requested.
"Of course, Queen Luna," she said, slightly bowing her head.
"Thank you," I replied.
She went straight to the bathroom and prepared my bath right away.
I sat at the vanity and combed my hair. From the mirror, I could still see Lucius standing near the balcony door, staring at me.
"Don't you have other businesses to attend to? Or are you just going to stand there and watch me as I undress and take a bath?" I spat, glaring at him through the mirror.
He shifted in his place uncomfortably as he averted my eyes.
"I apologize." He said before heading outside the door.
I let out a sigh that I did not know that I was holding in the first place.
A few moments later, Emily entered the room and stood behind me.
"I have never seen King Alpha scared like that," she said with a smile.
Somehow, what she said made me smile as well.
"It's about time that I teach them a lesson." I simply replied.
Emily helped me remove my dress and assisted me to my warm bath. I stayed there for half an hour before finishing my whole bath. Once I was done, I wrapped the robe around my body and asked Emily to bring me my nightgown.
After getting dressed, I sat at the vanity chair where Emily dried my hair. She insisted on doing them for me. I watched her as she combed and dried my hair with a smile on her face.
"Thank you, Emily," I said, smiling at her reflection in the mirror.
"It was a pleasure, Queen Luna," she replied with a smile on her face.
Just this once, I let it slide and allowed her to call me Queen Luna again.
Once she was done combing and drying my hair. I did my night routine before laying on my bed.
"You should take a rest as well, Emily. You had a long day. See you tomorrow." I said.
"Good night, Queen Luna. Have a wonderful rest," she replied.
She quietly left my room and closed the door behind her. I laid comfortably on the bed and as I tried to fall asleep.
What I did earlier shocked me.
'It's about time we put that bitch to her place. Her existence alone makes me want to snap her neck.' Avi said.
'Calm down, Avi. We'll show her who the Queen is without even laying a finger on her.' I replied.
I went to sleep that night with the thoughts of who Pamela was and who she was in Lucius' life. There has got to be more explanation on why he chose her as his chosen mate and why he hasn't told her about me. I need to find out all the answers to my questions.
