Chapter 14: Chapter 14

Chapter 14

LUCIUS' POV

Tracking Maia became difficult because it seemed like whoever took her moved her from one place to another. I was first able to track her scent into an old cabin in the middle of the no-man's-land, but when we got there, they were already gone. There were no signs of fighting or forced entrance, so it must have meant that either she was able to escape or they left. When her scent led me to a familiar trail, my heart pounded faster.

'Please be here. Please be here. Please be safe.' I kept chanting in my head.

I opened the lighthouse door and ran up the stairs. I searched for her in the bathroom, but she wasn't there either.

I punched the wall in anger.

"Damn it! Where the hell is she?" I growled.

"Try to calm down, Lucius. I'm sure we will find her." Neal said.

"We wouldn't be out here trying to look for her if you never let her out of that room." I spat before storming off.

'If you weren't going all demonic that night, he wouldn't have let her escape.' Lucian said.

'So, now you decide to grace me with your presence?' I asked with a hint of sarcasm.

'You were being stupid, Lucius. I can't tolerate your stupidity much longer. You are ruining our chance of being with our mate and look what happened!' He replied.

'Did you think that this is easy for me? I am trying, Lucian. You, out of all people, should have known that!' I spat.

'I know that, Lucius. What I'm saying is you should try harder. That's all.' he said.

I let out a deep sigh as I leaned on a tree.

My senses were heightened when her scent hit me again.

'Neal!' I yelled through the mind link.

Neal arrived beside me a few seconds later.

"What happened?" he asked, looking around for any danger.

"I can smell her scent." I simply replied.

We followed her scent until we reached an old club near the city. I knew for a fact that she was inside that building because her scent was stronger. I was about to go inside the old club when Neal stopped me.

'We should scout first. What if there are more wolves inside? We need backup,' he said through the mind link.

'I can't wait for any backup or scouting. My mate is in there and who knows what those bastards are doing to her right now. I need to get her out of there and twist all their necks.' I replied.

'Lucius! If you are going to act hasty, you might just end up getting killed as well. Get your shit together and calm down!' He snapped.

I let out a deep sigh and glared at him.

As he suggested, we scouted the outside of the club first before going inside. While scouting, we were able to find a broken window at the back of the club. We entered through there and carefully navigated through the dark building.

The more I smelled Maia's scent, the more Lucian was becoming harder to control. He wanted to be let out and tear all these nasty rogues apart.

We were about to open the door beside us when I heard Maia's voice.

"You can dream all you want, Uriah. I will never obey you!" She said.

Uriah!? I swore to the Moon Goddess that I would rip you apart.

I stormed straight to where she was. I effortlessly ripped every rogue that tried to get in my way.

I was fighting three rogues at the same time when I saw Uriah punch Maia in the stomach through the glass window. Lucian was furious. All I saw was red. I broke through the glass window and pushed Uriah to the end of the room when he was about to mark my mate.

I unshackled Maia and carried her to the corner of the room.

How dare he ties my mate into a punishment board?

I stormed off to him and picked him up by the neck.

"How dare you touch my mate!?" I growled.

Uriah simply laughed and said, "Didn't I tell you, Maia? He would come and he definitely did."

I threw him across the room as I was fuming with anger.

How dare he use my mate as bait if he wanted me?! That bastard!

"Hello to you too, brother." Uriah sneered.

"How dare you have the guts to call me a brother after laying a hand on my mate?; the King Alpha's mate, you bastard!" I growled.

"Why are you so selfish, Lucius? We are brothers, after all. Couldn't you share her?" He asked, standing up.

"Have you lost your mind, Uriah?" I yelled, throwing another punch to his face.

"You know, she's pretty sweet. She definitely kept me warm during the cold days," he said.

Lucian lost it when he heard it and pushed Uriah to the wall, choking him.

"She is mine!" I growled.

"Technically, she was mine before she became yours. You are just having my sloppy seconds, brother," he sneered.

I threw him across the room. He hit the window and fell to the other side of the room.

I was about to storm off to the other room when I heard Maia scream.

"Aarrgghh!" she cried out.

I ran over to her and checked her body for any wounds.

"Maia, where does it hurt?" I asked.

"My stomach hurts." She mumbled.

I lifted her shirt up and saw a red mark to where Uriah punched her. Her stomach didn't have any cuts or open wounds, but I could smell her blood.

"Where are you bleeding, Maia?" I asked, trying to find the wound.

She looked like she had seen a ghost when I asked her. I followed her eyes and she looked down at her legs.

She hugged her knees close to her and cried.

I was in a rage. I wanted to rip Uriah apart for what he did.

"Did he touch you?" I asked, breathing heavily.

I let out a sigh of relief when she shook her head no.

Thank the Moon Goddess.

"He killed my baby." She sobbed, looking at me with teary eyes.

My eyes were filled with so much anger as I stormed to the other room. As soon as I saw Uriah about to get up, I kicked him in the guts and threw him to the wall.

I growled as I punched him, kicked him, and threw him to the wall.

"You killed my child! I will never forgive you, Uriah!" I growled at him as I snapped his left leg.

"Now you know how it feels to lose someone you love," he groaned.

"How many times do I have to tell you that I did not kill Mom? Do you really think that I'm that kind of monster? If I killed our Mother, don't you think I would have killed you back then? No! Because you never cared about anybody else, but yourself! Now look at what you have done!" I growled.

I picked him up from the floor and held him by the neck. I lifted him up and watched him as he was gasping for air.

"Lucius! Enough! We have to get back to the castle. Maia needs a doctor." Neal said.

I wanted to end him right there and then, but I wanted him to feel all the pain that he had caused Maia. I dropped him to the floor and turned around to head to Maia.

"Take him and lock him up in the dungeon, Neal. I will deal with him later." I instructed.

"Uhm. I think you should see this, Lucius." he said, staring at the room.

I turned around and Uriah was nowhere to be found. Just a few seconds ago, he was just lying there on the floor, barely breathing. Where did he go?

I scanned the room and saw no way out of the room except the door where Neal was standing.

One sniff in the air and I knew it.

Witch.

I ran to Maia and held her close to me.

"He's working with a witch. We have to get out of here now." I said, running out of the building.

When we were already outside, I stopped for a second and examined Maia.

"I thought that the last witch alive already died during the great war?" Neal asked.

"That's what I thought, too." I replied.
