LUCIUS' POV

A couple of hours had passed since Maia passed out from the pain. The doctor was still one town away and it was going to take her two more hours before she would reach us.

I paced back and forth as I tried to think of a solution for the problems at hand.

'Shit! Why can't I think of anything?' I exclaimed in my head.

'You can't think because you are not focused enough, you dickhead,' Lucian said.

'As if you had been any help all this time,' I remarked.

'Well, did you ever ask for my opinion, genius?' he asked.

'Did I ask for any right now? I didn't. And yet you still gave your half-ass of a remark,' I spat.

'Stop thinking with your dick, human,' he replied.

I blocked him from my mind link so that I could think clearly.

'How's Uriah? Is everything okay over there?' I asked Neal who was in the hospital with Trinna and Uriah.

'He is asleep right now, Trinna is trying her best to find anything she can use from her books,' he replied.

'Good. What about the doctor? Any news? How far away is she?' I asked.

'The last time I checked they said they were close. About an hour or two left. How's Queen Luna doing? Is she awake?' he replied, asking about Maia.

'She is still asleep, but I don't know how long she will be numb. Once the contraction hits her again, she might wake up,' I said.

'Don't worry. The doctor is close. Everything will be fine,' he replied.

My conversation with Neal was interrupted when I heard a grunt from Maia.

"Hi, love. How are you feeling? Are you in any pain?" I asked, running over to her side.

"A bit of pain."??

"I'm sorry. I wish I can take away all the pain, but don't worry, the doctor is near," I said.

"Where is the girl?" She asked.

"Which girl?" I replied with a question of my own.

"The doctor's relative."

"Oh, Trinna. She is with Uriah. Turned out that Tatiana cursed Uriah and it only took effect now," I replied.

"Is he okay, though?"

I couldn't believe that despite what happened between her and Uriah, she was still worried about him.

"Yes, he is okay. Is there anything you want? Food? Juice?" I asked, changing the subject.

"No, I am fine. Thank you, though," she replied.

Before I could utter another word, she started screaming as her contractions started again.

'Doctor, where are you!? She is having contractions again! Hurry!' I yelled through the mind link.

'I am in the hospital, King Alpha. I am just grabbing some stuff I might need. Give me ten more minutes and I will be right there,' she replied.

"Love, the doctor is coming. Everything will be okay." I held her hand as she cried in pain.

"I can't, Lucius. It really hurts," she cried.

She started pushing as she yelled at the top of her lungs and I stood there not knowing what to do. Thankfully, the doctor arrived and came to my aid.

"I am so sorry for keeping you waiting," she apologized as she took a seat at the edge of the bed.

"Queen Luna, you are doing great. I can already see the head. Just a couple more pushes. You can do it," the doctor encouraged her.

For the next half an hour, I sat beside Maia as she crushed my hand while she screamed and pushed. It broke my heart to see her in so much pain, but I couldn't do anything to help.

After what felt like forever, I finally heard the sound that I had been dying to hear all this time - our baby's cry.

"Congratulations, King Alpha and Queen Luna. You have a baby boy," the doctor said, handing over our newborn baby.

"Hello, little one," Maia said, kissing our baby's forehead. She looked at me with her beautiful smile.

"I am so proud of you, my love. You made me the happiest man alive," I said, hugging both of them.

Once they finished cleaning Maia and the baby, they left us alone in the room.

"You should take a rest while he is asleep. I will watch him while you do," I suggested.

"I was thinking we should name him Austin."

My heart was filled with so much emotion. I felt my eyes starting to tear up. I was at a loss for words.

"Do you not like it?" she asked when she realized that I did not reply to her.

"No, it's not that, love. As a matter of fact, I love it. I was just feeling overwhelmed that you decided to name our firstborn after my dad," I replied, pulling her into a hug.

"I know how much you loved your dad and how you wished he could be here. I think that it is the least I can do to thank them for raising someone like you," she said.

I was at one of my happiest moments that day. The Moon Goddess had blessed me with not only an amazing mate but also a son.

I cuddled with her until she fell asleep, thanking the Moon Goddess the whole time for giving me such bountiful blessings.

After all that Maia and I had been through, I was glad that Maia never gave up on me. I wouldn't know what would have happened if she had left and never came back.

Ever since she came into my life, Maia had been nothing but a huge blessing to me and the whole pack. She was the sun of our pack. She brought joy and warmth wherever she went.

'How I wish mom and dad had met her. I am sure mom would have loved her so much. She had always wanted to have a daughter. Maia and she would have been so close,' I said in my head.

'I am sure that they are proud of you, Lucius. Despite everything that has happened, I am glad to be your wolf,' Lucian said.

'Thanks, Lucian. Thank you for being patient with me. I couldn't ask for a better wolf.'

I looked at Maia and Austin who were sleeping peacefully. My heart was full and overflowing with so much love and happiness.

I was once a lonely, cursed werewolf, but now I was a blessed father and a husband.
