Chapter 43: Chapter 43
*Author’s Point Of View*
The cold water rushes down her body in a frenzy, creating a pool of red water. The only thing making it red is her blood. Her eyes remains transfixed on the wall and her lips as pale as ever, with her body huddled in her tight arms. The once pointy ears long gone to her normal ones.
Sebastian found Minerva like this a few minutes ago and when he tried to touch her, she would flinch away as if she has been shocked. He tries to get her out of the bathtub but she ends up wailing like a kid.
The only thing he can do is to is turn off the shower and call her sister.
When Asteria comes into the bathroom, she gasps at the sight she sees. Minerva in a pool of blood as she stares at Asteria with dull eyes.
“How did she get in here?”
“I don’t know.” Sebastian holds the door open, also staring at Minerva who doesn’t take a glance at his direction. “I found her here in my bathroom just minutes ago and she doesn’t want to come with me.”
Asteria pushes Minerva’s hair back, hoping for a reaction but she remains still as a board.
“She cut off her mark.”
“What?” He frowns and steps closer to see, only for him to stagger back with the view of her battered neck stuck in his head.
“Why would she do that?”
“We need to get her to a hospital,” Asteria mentions. “Help me get her up.”
Asteria grabs the side of her ribs and Sebastian passes his hands under the water of blood to pick her up in bridal style. Like he expects, she lets out a squeal, voice sounding shaky and broken.
They ignore her screams as Sebastian rushes her through the halls, to the awaiting room, specially prepared for her.
“Who are these people?” Asteria asks when Sebastian opens the door to the room and the people with white coats grabs her attention.
“My pack doctors. I mind linked them to come here.”
“They were so fast,” Asteria says absentmindedly as Sebastian drops Minerva on the bed and more wolves with white coats and gloves rushes in.
Minerva’s screams stop but the blood pouring out of her neck doesn’t. Soon the room fills with the smell of blood and Minerva seems unaffected. All she does is to stare at her sister and Sebastian being hurried out of the room. Stare as the doctors comes to her side, speaking words but she doesn’t understand.
As blood rushes through her body, her eyelids closes softly.
Sebastian can’t stop pacing outside the room with Asteria by his side.
“She met Davina before she- before this happened.”
“You don’t think that she might have something to do with this.”
The rage that fills his body almost burns his shoes off as he hurries spot, knowingly ignoring Asteria’s calls.
He pushes the door open and walks up to a surprised Finn. Sebastian holds him up by his collars. “What did you do to her, huh? Was this your plan all along, to try to kill her! Tell me!”
Finn’s head bangs on the wall as Sebastian’s fists turns white.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
The rage Sebastian feels intensifies making his eyes turn yellow, his canines poke out of his mouth and his voice deeper as his hands tightens on Finn’s collars, chocking him.
“What did you do to her?” Sebastian snarls in his face. Finn’s face that begins to get red as the minute goes by. He tries to struggles on Sebastian’s hold but he is much more stronger that him.
Suddenly, a blue light flies through the air and lands on Sebastian, making him turn to the direction it came from.
“Let go of him now, Sebastian. You don’t want to do this.” Asteria’s eyes darkens as Sebastian does as she asks and Finn tumbles to the ground.
She takes a brief glance at her husband, only to look up when Sebastian stalks closer to her with his wolf features battling his human ones.
“You are involved in this too, right? You tried to kill her, to take her away from me!”
“Asteria get out of here.”
Before she can reach the door Sebastian rushes over there with the help of his super speed and stops her from opening the door as he places his palm on it.
A feral grin grows on his lips. “No where to run now.”
He begins to stalk closer and she staggers back, throwing a blast at him. He squats it off like a fly and doesn’t stop moving.
Asteria yelps as she falls to the ground when she trips on a chair but nothing stops him from moving closer to her.
Her breath flutters when he extends his claws and at that moment, Finn jumps on his back, holding his neck as he injects a substance into his body.
With a little toss and struggle, Sebastian throws Finn off his back, to the wall again and immediately Sebastian’s becomes dizzy, his body turning weak.
When Asteria notices this, she rushes to Finn’s side, where he lays on the floor with a groan.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” He breathes out, as his eyes focuses on Sebastian’s back. “I’m okay but when I tell you to leave, you should actually leave.”
“He was going to kill you,” She says with disbelief of what he says next.
“But he didn’t. I handled it.” He winces. “I injected a substance into him that that helps him control his wolf.”
She doesn’t listen to a word she says. Her eyes stays on the particular spot his hands covers and when she moves it away, there is a claw mark there with blood already pouring out of it.
“You sure got it covered.” She says sarcastically and he closes his eyes in pain.
“I thought I did.”
______________
“I’m sorry.”
“You keep repeating that but what you don’t say is why you attacked me.” Finn hisses as Asteria tightens the bandage on his torso.
“I-I thought that you tried to hurt Minerva.”
Finn frowns as Asteria stands straight, by his side and he drops down his shirt.
“Why would I do that?”
“Because you were the one that last met her when she went to torture… Davina! That little witch probably has something to do with this.” Sebastian bangs his hands on the desk. “How did I not think of that.”
“I don’t really know what’s happening here,” Finn says without a clue.
“We found Minerva in a bathtub full of her own blood with her mark cut off.”
When Asteria answers Finn turns to Sebastian in disbelief, “And you thought that I had something to do with it!!”
Sebastian pinches the bridge of his nose. “My wolf took over an-”
“And you almost hurt my mate, even my unborn child.”
“And I am apologizing. I wasn’t in the right state of mind.”
“You are never in the right state of mind, Sebastian and after what Minerva heard she was devastated.”
Sebastian’s interest spikes up and he walks closer to Finn. “What exactly did she hear?”
“Yesterday, Davina offered to tell her… to tell us the truth without any torture and she did tell us something,” Finn nods as he blinks. “She mentioned how she wasn’t controlling you all this while, how she just fueled your outermost desires which includes forcing yourself on Minerva.”
“That’s bullshit!” Sebastian flames up, “I would never desire to do that. I barely remember what happened. Why would you think my desire is to force myself on my own mate.”
Asteria opens her mouth to speak but Finn ends up cutting himself in.
“How am I supposed to know what you desire. The source of the information is a fey, she can’t lie and yeah, it seemed off at first but after what just happened, I am not finding it very hard to believe.”
“I would never hurt Minerva and I already apologized for what happened.” Sebastian narrows his eyes.
“But you did, you hurt her and now you expect me to forget what you did minutes ago!” Finn stands to his feet, “You tried to hurt my wife and my unborn child.”
Before Asteria knows what is happening, they are face to face with each other.
Asteria finally finds a way to cut in.
“Actually Davina can lie, just like her father, Zephyr.”
The two males turn to stare at her and Finn is the first one who speaks.
“What?”
“I thought it was irrelevant to tell you since we thought she died after our fusion but it turns out that it was planned too. Everything leading to here was planned,” She explains. “So Sebastian was really controlled and Minerva was manipulated to cut out her mark. She probably planned out our little fight.”
Sebastian turns away with a grunt as his fingers down his face. “I wonder what more she has planned.”
“And what risks she is willing to take. She has already caused so much trouble.”
“We need to speak to her then,” Asteria says next and the door bangs open, revealing a worried Gwen.
“Sebastian, Davina has escaped.”
“What?”
“She might have drafted this out too well because there is no way she would have been able to escape with her magic. Even the bars are iron.” Asteria mentions aloud.
“I heard Minerva saying that you guys put a complex spell on Davina, blocking her magic.” Gwen says.
“There might be a chance that Davina broke through the spell by transferring it to Minerva,” Finn starts. “But since the spell was made for a fey and specifically for Davina, Minerva turned to a walking corpse, partially lost in her own mind.”
Sebastian’s worried tone reaches everyone’s ears. “But Minerva can escape this, right?”
“I believe not. Davina might have found a loophole but I don’t think Minerva can. Her fey side has retreated and her wolf is almost lost. I felt it. She is nothing more than a human right now and the only way she can get out of this spell is by breaking herself and build herself back together emotionally.”
Gwen holds on to something as she finds a sit, with disbelief of what she is hearing.
“It’s like she is in a coma but there is a chance will be able to hear and see what’s happening around her.” Finn explains and before anyone can say another word, the door opens to reveal the head doctor.
“My king, she is pregnant.”
