Chapter 19: Chapter 19

'Okay, I understand. It won't take long I promise.' I said to her as I closed the door of my apartment.

"So? How was your day with Mr. Alpha CEO?" Sophie asked me from the couch as she grinned excitedly.

I gave her a small smile as I went over to sit on the couch beside her. I let out a sigh, "It was great. He met everyone at home and I met his mom and sister."

"How did your dad and Aubrey take the news about Cameron?" She asked, curiously as she grabbed the small couch pillow and hugged it.

I brought up my knees to my chest as I wrapped my arms around my legs and leaned my head on my knees. "They took it unlike how I expected, Dad took it surpringly well and wanted to beat up Cameron, but of course, we stopped him. While Aubrey took it pretty bad at first, she kept sulking and she even refused to acknowledge Sebastian, but he won her over when he gave tickets to R.L Stine's Haunting Hour marathon."

"Wow! He has some serious business skills. Cameroon found it hard to win her over." Sophie commented, looking very surprised.

"I know, that's what I said." I had no idea that he even has those tickets, maybe he brought them after the background check on me so that he could win her over or he was planning to go with his friends and gave it to her instead? That's such a selfless thing to do if the answer was the latter. I would have to ask him tomorrow. My wolf let out a longing sigh as we thought of how long we had to wait to see our mate again.

"But what about the twins? Did they like him too?" She asked me with her brows raised in question.

I nodded, "Yeah, they liked him a lot. They also think that he's funny when he tried to make a joke."

She smiled, "Awe, that's so cute. I'm really glad that everything worked out, but I'm really pissed at Sierra and Cameron."

I let out a small sigh, "Yeah, I can't believe they did this to me, especially Sierra. I thought that she was like a sister to me."

Sophie shook her head, "No, you just didn't see it, Kat, but I did. It was so obvious that she was so jealous of you."

I shrugged my slender shoulders, "I guess and I can't believe that I was the only one in our office that wore a suit to work."

Sophie looked surprised at my sudden change of topic, "What? I'm sure no one really noticed or cared since you're too adorable and smart."

I couldn't help, but laugh at her compliment, "Thanks for being so nice Sophie and always being there for me."

She gave me a pitiful look as she let the pillow go and wrapped her arms around me, "You don't need to thank me, Kat. You're like a sister to me and we're like a pack. Pack members stick together."

I hugged her back for a few seconds before pulling away, "Speaking of packs, do you want to join Sebastian's pack? I'll be joining it of course and so are my family along with some friends from work."

A large grin appeared on her face and she pumped her fists in the air, "Hell yes! You know that I've been wanting to be in a pack for a long time."

I let out a small laugh at her enthusiasm, "Yeah, and you might find your mate there!"

Tomorrow came soon, and my wolf and I were so excited to see our mate again. So I went to the office very early that I arrived at 7:30am. I started working on my computer in our empty office since I was extra early while I went to the top floor, Sebastian's office a few times to check if he has come in. Sadly he hasn't and he hasn't marked me yet, so we couldn't communicate telepathically. To make matters worse, we forgot to exchange numbers yesterday, so I had no way of reaching him.

I sighed again as I looked over at the time on my computer screen which says 8:15am. Work began at 9:00am and it was around that time that he arrived yesterday, so he was probably going to arrive at that time today too. I dragged my eyes back to the article that I was working on a celebrity, Jeff Bezos to will myself to continue even though I felt like crap for having only one night without my mate.

"What's got you all worried and depressed, dear?" Tess's voice took my attention to her.

I sighed again as I turned to see her approaching her cubicle, "I'm just missing Sebastian. I told him that I wanted things to move slowly so that I could get to know him, but my wolf and I feel like crap already."

She sat down on her chair and faced me as she replied, "Yeah, that's going to be really hard. If you're going to wait before he marks you, at least move in to his place so that both of wolf's will feel at peace."

I felt nervous at her suggestion as I fiddled with my fingers since I have never done that before with a guy, "Uh, I'm not sure about that yet, but I might take your advice."

She nodded her head, "I hope you do take it because you're going to feel even worse than this by tomorrow."

"Alright, I'll think about it."

"Good, because I want the cute and lively Kat that was here yesterday back!" Tess replied as she turned to her computer and switched it on.

"Okay." I replied her with a small smile even though I felt my energy draining.

More people started filling in the office and my gaze strayed to the time on my computer again. It read 8:30am, it was time for me to check his office again to see if he had come in. I glanced at Tess as I stood up, "I'll be right back."

She threw me a quick glance before looking back at her computer, "Sure."

I made my way through the cubicles and people around them. I could hear their gossiping whispers with my werewolf hearing as I passed them. A woman whispered to her group of friends, "How can she get to date the boss and I haven't succeeded in years?"

One man among her friends whispered, "Damn, she looks so good in the morning!"

"Hey, you can't look at her like that, she's the boss's girl." Another man warned the first one.
