Chapter 17: Chapter 17
Sebastian grinned when he saw her and stood up. I followed his lead and stood up too just as she reached us. He nodded as he introduced, "Mom, I want you to meet my mate, Kat Mason."
She enveloped in a bear hug, catching me by surprise, "Kat, I'm so glad to meet you. Sebastian has been waiting for his soul mate for a very long time."
She pulled back from the hug and I grinned shyly. "Nice to meet you too, mom."
Willow smiled wider as she glanced at him, "Oh, she's such a sweet girl, how did you find her?"
"At a bar, but it was her first time going there."
"Are you talking about your restaurant/club bar?"
I felt shocked to hear that he owned a restaurant/bar. Well, he was a billionaire, so it was expected of him. "You own that place?"
He turned to me and nodded, "Yeah and a few other places too."
My eyes widened in shock and amazement, "Wow!"
The three of them all looked amazed at our reaction. I glanced at his mom, "When can you meet my parents?"
She smiled kindly, "Whenever you want, dear."
I nodded, " Okay, are you part of Sebastian's pack too?"
"Yes, we both are and he took over as Alpha after his dad died."
Before I could ask more questions, she turned to Sebastian as she asked, "Are you two staying for dinner?"
His gaze strayed to mine and his brows raised in question to know if I wanted to stay for dinner. I nodded at him and he turned to her as he answered her, "Yeah, we would love to."
She smiled at his reply, "Sure, let's go to the dining room then."
She turned to Riley as she said, "Can you set the table while I bring over the dishes?"
"Yeah, okay." Riley replied and started towards the door of the living room.
"I'll help you set the the table." I said as I followed after Riley. Sebastian followed me and I saw a proud smile touching his lips as I looked over my shoulder at him.
Riley looked pleased at my words as she glanced at me, "Sure."
She led us to a room facing the living room while Willow left us to go to the kitchen. I felt Sebastian's hot stare on me the whole time that Riley and I were setting the table. When we were finally done, I walked over to him and sat down on the chair beside him at the couch dining table. I glanced at him and our eyes connected. The corner of his lips tugged up into a smile, "You're wonderful, you know."
I felt my cheeks heat up in a blush at his compliment and I looked up at him through my lashes. "And you're more than wonderful, Sebastian."
He let out a chuckle in his velvety deep voice, "Well, you're the most wonderful."
"I love that you two are so into each other, but that's enough mushy stuff. You two are making me feel bad that I haven't met my mate yet." Riley said with a weird look on her face as she sat down opposite me at the table.
"Sorry." I muttered to her, feeling bad that I was making her feel bad.
A small frown fell on Sebastian's brows, "You don't need to apologize, cupcake. And Riley, you shouldn't feel bad, you know that you'll meet your mate no matter what."
I nodded at him while Riley sighed at his last sentence that was aimed at her. She looked between us, "So how did people at the office react when they saw you two acting lovey dovey toward each other?"
Sebastian's frown disappeared and a small smile tugged at his lips, "I don't act love dovey, Riley, and I announced it to everyone that we were going out and we had no idea that this was the company that she was starting work at."
"So how did they react?" Riley asked us, curiously as her eyes bounced from Sebastian to me and back.
Sebastian shrugged, "You would have to ask Kat about that since she's the one that works closely with them."
Riley turned to me with an expectantly look, "Well?"
I felt a bit nervous to answer her since Sebastian probably wouldn't like it. I glanced at him to see him also staring at me in anticipation before looking back at Riley. "The werewolves at the office knew that we had to be mates, so they took it well. But the humans think that I got the job because I was going out with him, so they really don't like me at the moment."
"Wow, humans can be nasty and harsh." Riley stated with a disgusted look on her face.
Sebastian's brows furrowed as he said, "You should have told me about that, I thought it was only the manager that thought that. I don't want any of them slandering you or bullying you."
I shook my head, "It won't happen and they know not to mess with me since I am dating you."
He let out a sigh, "Just let me know if anything like that happens, okay?"
I nodded my head, "Okay."
"It's so romantic to see how much you care about her." Riley said with a grin as she watched us.
I was about to reply when his mom walked into the dining room at that moment, holding four plates of food with two on each arm. Riley and I stood up at the same time to help her. Each of us took a plate off of her arm and placed it on the dining table. She smiled at us as she placed the two plates on the tables, "Thanks you two."
She moved one plate in front of Sebastian and the other in front of her. So that left Riley and I pulling the plates that we took off her arm in front of us. We all picked up our forks and started eating the sweet smelling lasagna dish. As I placed a bite in my mouth, I felt my taste buds react. It felt so delicious that I glanced at Willow, "This is so good! I want to learn how you made it."
She and Sebastian let out a chuckle as she nodded, "Sure, Kat. You can come over whenever and I can teach you."
"Thanks, mom!" I answered, excitedly and I felt Sebastian's gaze on me.
I turned my head to him to see him staring at me with those alluring, dark eyes as his lips tugged up into a smile at the corners. "What?"
