Chapter 23: Chapter 23
"Yeah. I thought she would come here in jeans and a t-shirt.” Eva replied as she lifted her sunglass. Iris felt awkward.
"I don't know you to go sunbathing here too, guys." Iris sat next to Eva and stared at the beach. She watched Jack with an amused look for trying to lure a lot of pigeons which is sunbathing.
"This is Hawaii, girl. You want me to stay in the room until the day after tomorrow?” Shane said with a small snort. Eva smiled lopsidedly to respond to Shane's word.
Iris smiled blandly. She had unusual to mingle with her friends like this. It was even the first time she saw Eva, who repeatedly raised her sunglasses when a handsome man passed by.
“Ulala~ Look at his six-pack abs.” Shane and Eva chuckled together. Meanwhile, Iris was busy scratching the sand because that man wasn't for her taste.
“Iris, sunbathe on my chair. I'm going to surf with Allan first."
"Okay."
Iris looked at Shane, who ran to the shore and joined Tommy and Allan there. Her lips curved into a smile.
"Can she surf?" Eva laughed at that.
“If you see her only as a mad scientist, you are very wrong. She is a woman with a million talents. There are very few women like that. If Shane were a man, I would date her to death." Iris laughed too. She also thought Shane would be a handsome man if she were born a man.
"I thought it like that too."
Iris also took off her clothes, revealing a dark purple bikini. Eva threw sunscreen at Iris while changing her position so that the sun would shine on the rest of her body.
But after a few minutes of Iris sunbathing with Eva, she was surprised when a sizeable husky dog sat beside her.
"Oh, God!" Her eyes looked here and there, looking for the owner. "Hey, buddy. Where is your master?”
Her hand reached out to stroke the husky. And the dog's sudden presence also attracted the attention of other visitors. Iris was confused about where this gray and white striped husky came from.
"May I greet your dog?" A woman suddenly approached the dog that looked dashing. Iris nodded but then shook her head awkwardly. It's not clear because she's not the owner.
But when the woman's hand was about to touch it, the husky growled and barked so bad. Iris hurriedly hugged her for fear that the husky would bite the woman if she did not hug him earlier.
"I'm sorry. It looks like he's not used to being touched like that." The woman looked sad to hear that.
Iris herself didn't know why the dog seemed friendly with her while being fierce with other people.
"Whose dog did you steal?" Iris turned and looked at Tommy with a disapproving expression.
“You accuse me of pet theft?” Tommy rolled his eyes lazily. He pushed Eva's legs a little so she could sit up.
“Tsk! What's wrong with you!" Eva immediately woke up and was also surprised to see a sizeable husky dog beside Iris.
"The owner left it with you?" Tommy asked, looking at the dog.
"Why don't you ask this dog yourself?" Iris answered, deliberately playing with Tommy's emotions. Eva, without a second thought, immediately pushed Tommy to leave.
"You're breaking the mood. Go away from here." Tommy blocked Eva's kick as she shooed him away.
But he had been feeling strange about the dog, and for some reason, he felt something was wrong. From the look in his sharp eyes, it's also not like a dog in general.
Tommy turned his gaze to Iris. He saw that his partner looked sarcastically at him.
"I didn't mean to say that." Iris turned her face the other way while snorting harshly.
Unbelievable, how could Tommy not say sorry after accusing her of stealing. As a human being, a man should be ashamed when he knows he's wrong.
It was getting late, and they all went home together. But the oddity only became more apparent when the husky didn't leave when Iris chased him away. Jack and Martin were confused.
"I don't know if it's okay to bring dogs into the hotel." Shane looked at her friends one by one. Meanwhile, Iris crouched down in despair in front of the dog.
"I've never had a pet before." Eva was so sorry to see it.
"Better think about how to get rid of him. We can't possibly take him home." This time Jack agreed with Eva.
"I also don't want to be accused of stealing a pet." Martin sighed as he crouched down beside Iris.
"I think the owner of this dog must be a rich man. Look at the fur."
Iris is made even more worried if the owner is a rich person. What if they were going to charge her with an excessive fine? Just thinking about it made her back wet with cold sweat.
"What should I do now? I can't kick him out because he doesn't want to go." Tommy was thinking too.
"Maybe your body smells like fishy fish. So he is following you." Iris immediately took off her sandals and hit them against Tommy's feet.
"Go away! You're not helping at all." Shane and the others looked directly at Tommy with annoyed looks.
"Instead of us staying here, I'll try to ask the security." Iris was a little relieved to hear that.
Eva seemed to pay attention to Martin, who tried to discuss briefly with the security in front of the hotel.
"Hopefully, there's some good news."
Iris now looked at the dog and smiled a little. Look how grainy this dog is. The fur can be this soft to the touch. It seemed impossible for this dog master to throw it away.
Well, although there are no signs that the dog was abandoned by its master. Iris rubbed the dog's back.
Martin pointed towards the hotel entrance after the conversation. Shane folded her arms across her chest.
"Looks like it worked." Eva patted Iris on the shoulder before leaving to follow Shane away. Iris immediately stroked the dog's head.
"Tonight, you can stay in my room until your master finds you, okay? Be a good dog as long as you're with me."
