Chapter 22: Chapter 22
Eva looks at her intensely. She was watching Iris whether she was lying or not. But Iris had anticipated that question thanks to Jonathan. She didn't expect that Eva would ask this trivial question, according to Jonathan's prediction.
Iris thought to what extent Jonathan understood the character of all of his comrades. Even a woman as complicated and long-minded as Eva could be read easily by him.
"I'll ask Shane to give you the medicine you need," Eva said again, reading her novel.
Iris nodded. Her toes had been moving restlessly in her shoes because of Eva's gaze. Hopefully, she didn't realize anything about her lies.
After a long journey, they finally arrived in Hawaii. Luckily they came at night, so there was still time to rest before starting the event to relieve stress on the beach later.
They all gathered in the lobby. Eva and Shane seemed to share room keys with their men.
“Okay, because our budget is limited. You have to be willing to share space with your other partner. One room is sufficient for three people. If you want five or six, it doesn't matter, and I don't care. I've paid for a room that's enough for us.” Eva said, throwing the keys one by one at all of them.
And Iris, who was in the front row, also got her room key. Instantly everyone scattered to find a roommate. And the most excited, of course, Jack.
"Tommy! I'm a roommate with you. We're friends forever." Tommy turned his head, and his mocking smile was overwhelming for Jack.
"Sorry. I'm with these guys." He said while pointing at his two friends behind him. Jack immediately covered his mouth dramatically.
"You choose them?"
"Of course. Come on, guys, it's time to rest." Tommy walked away, leaving Jack alone in the lobby.
“You traitor! From now on we are not friends anymore! Did you hear that?” But Jack only got a middle finger greeting from Tommy before the elevator doors closed. “Tsk! Traitor."
Since everyone had gotten their roommates, Iris shared a room with the other teammates. Eva and Shane would be rooming, and Iris was quite thankful not to be in the same room.
Fear of further interrogation. She then opened her suitcase to get a change of clothes.
"May I use the bathroom first?" Iris asked her two colleagues, who seemed to be resting on their respective beds.
"Go ahead. I'm the last one." Iris immediately cleaned up and then got some rest.
The next day, Iris had scheduled herself not to go directly to the beach because it would be very crowded. She was alone in the room, eating the little lollipop she had brought up.
Her eyes were looking here and there, looking at every corner of the room. The corner seemed very fancy. Her legs swayed as she sat on the dressing table as if she were the boss there.
Since she had nothing to do in her room, Iris chose to go to the convenience store and buy ice cream. So, she jumped off the dressing table and walked over to her bed. She picks up the suitcase and opens it. But she accidentally saw a set of clothes she didn't recognize there.
And when she opened it, it was clear that it was men's clothing. Her brows furrowed as she looked at the clothes. It's impossible for her to carry men's clothes because there are no men in her house.
Then suddenly, she remembered Jonathan, who liked to hang around her house. Her mind became increasingly strange and a little unsure.
"Nathan? Ha, that's impossible. He never keeps clothes in my house.” She muttered in deep thought. He is never going to do that. She's so sure.
She repeatedly thought that she couldn't find whose clothes they belonged. Iris looked down at her suitcase, afraid it would not be her suitcase. But the red suitcase had her name on the airline sticker. And also all of her belongings except that man's clothes.
"Okay. You scared me." She muttered again as she put the clothes back in the suitcase.
She hastily changed into light clothes and didn't forget to wear a bikini because she would go sunbathing. Don't forget the cream-colored floppy hat she brought too. Who cares about that men's suit. Maybe she was hallucinating.
"Aloha, Miss." Iris smiled sweetly in response to the man's greeting, who opened the hotel door.
"Maholo."
Iris wore an off-shoulder long dress with a sunflower pattern with a slit on the left thigh. The bright yellow color makes it stand out from the rest. It's an outfit that invites the eye to see.
After taking the time to buy ice cream at the mini-market she passed, she walked around the city, asking for directions to the beach to the people passing by.
It felt like Iris wanted to take as many pictures as possible because of this exclusive vacation. Where else could she go to Hawaii for free? Even get a luxury hotel room for free too.
“Oh god… I want to live here.” She mumbled excitedly.
Her grateful smile made a few passersby misunderstand. Honolulu is indeed the most pleasant destination for her. She would thank Eva later.
After walking towards the beach, at noon, Iris arrived there. With the help of a map on her phone, she smiled with satisfaction. The beach is so vast, so everyone there can sunbathe packed.
Iris doesn't know how to get some spot for her to sunbathe because there are so many people around. Since there were many shirtless men there, Iris evaded a little because she wasn't used to it. Understandably, her mind is still too innocent.
She then walked along the beach while looking for an empty place to spread a cloth mat for her to sunbathe. Her mouth feels sour because there are so many sexy and beautiful women scattered there.
"Hello, lady. Alone?"
"Oh my goodness! Jack! You startled me."
For God's sake, her heart almost fell out. Jack, in navy blue beach pants with a coconut tree motif, wrapped his arm around her shoulders. Jack laughed a little louder. He seems to be the man who drew attention in this place the most.
“Nice outfits,” Shane said with a wink. Her smile looks so naughty.
