Chapter 20: Chapter 20
Iris felt a few seconds passing by in silence. What did he say? Sex? Even though she had just said she would help make his wish come true.
It feels so embarrassing. Iris desperately wanted to break eye contact with him and enter the mouse hole because she was too embarrassed. She just never had sex before.
"Um… I'm sorry. I don't think I can make that one wish come true." She said nervous and embarrassed. Jonathan looked normal and sat on a chair looking at the box of almost expired milk.
"I have no interest in doing it either," He said. Iris was relieved. She just couldn't imagine having sex with the devil. Also, she was attracted to him. But for sex, she can not accept it.
After their awkward conversation ended, she immediately washed the bowl she had used earlier and entered her room. In her room, she immediately jumped on the bed and buried her face in the pillow.
She could not imagine that a demon who was famous for being cruel and terrible like Jonathan had never had sex in his entire life. How many thousand years did he live and he never does it?
But Iris also feels sad because she is already 24 years old and doesn't have sex. Well, they're the same here. Both suck in matters of bed.
Because she was too comfortable curled up in the blanket, she finally fell asleep.
-Headquarters-
Eva was struggling with James' documents in her room. She still clearly remembered what happened yesterday when James said something. She could still remember the last words clearly.
"What do you mean never die?" She muttered, still questioning it.
She realized that the moment they met eye contact, James had already read her future. If he hadn't read it, there was no way he would have said such a thing. Eva massaged the back of her neck several times.
And also James called her 'Lord Hairesh'. Who's she? She became more and more curious about who Iris was. She cleaned up the document and carried it out of the room.
She walked to the laboratory to meet Shane and wanted to discuss something with her.
"Shane, help me solve this problem." Shane, who seemed to be busy reading some lab results turned her head and looked at the documents that Eva brought.
"Didn't we discuss this yesterday with Allan?" She asked lazily looking at the document again. Eva pulled out a chair and sat there with mixed feelings.
"How about Iris's neck earlier?" Shane looked at Eva who looked unusual today.
"Her condition is recovering quickly. No nerve or bone problems. What's going on?" Shane asked again and suddenly she was curious about the discussion this time.
"Before this demon died, he called Iris Lord Hairesh."
Shane was immediately confused. What does Iris have to do with the demons to call her that? Also, according to her data and analysis, Iris was a human, not a demon.
"Eva, I've researched Iris' body every inch of her body and she's a hundred percent human just like us. Indeed she has scars in different places not like us. But I can confirm that there's no way she's a demon." Shane immediately explained.
Eva, who just found out about the location of Iris's sign that was different from them, was naturally shocked.
"Why did you just tell me now? Are the scars different?" She asked excitedly to Shane.
"Everything looks the same. The only difference is the location of the scars."
They both fell silent again and lost in their thoughts. Shane suddenly remembered something with Iris' scar.
"Iris once told me that her scar was sliced by the devil when she fought with a demon yesterday. Is it possible…." Shane said a little unsure. Eva touched her chin and shook her head slowly.
"There's no way she turned into a demon just because she was sliced by a demon." She said with sure because it did not make sense at all. But Shane looked down and stared at the photo of James in deep thought.
She couldn't have seen Iris' scar when she checked it last month. The scar looked like it had just been sliced yesterday. Because the last time she saw the scar was a month ago. And the wound didn't heal either.
"I thought there was indeed something going on with him. You want me to investigate her body in more detail?" She asked. Intend to work together to solve this case. But Eva shook her head.
"I'll try to ask her directly first.
-Airport-
Following the mutual agreement, finally, they are all now at the airport in extraordinary suits. Unfortunately only Iris seemed to be in plain clothes and sitting on the waiting chair.
She saw her friends like a bunch of artists because of their fashion style that looks very fashionable. Even Jack, who thought his style was too tacky, now looked extraordinary.
"You look quite ordinary, Iris. Haven't you dressed up before?" Shane immediately commented as usual.
She is the only woman who looks tomboyish because she wears army jogger pants with a plain white t-shirt covered with a black coat. Iris sighed looking bored waiting for the departure time.
"You guys stay away from me. I'm like a half-sister persecuted between you all." Iris said looking hurt by her friends' suit. It's like she had a wrong dress code now. Shane laughed and sat casually sipping her coffee.
"Just so you know. They were nothing more than dorky people who never took a vacation. Why do they dress up to go to Summer Country? And also boots? I'm even wearing a bikini now. When I get there I want to go straight to sunbathing.”
Iris glanced at her friends again and couldn't help but agree with Shane's words.
"I have never traveled abroad before. Also, I just got my passport today. That's amazing." Her words immediately made Shane smile proudly.
"Don't underestimate us, Iris. Such a problem was small to Eva. All the funds used for this vacation were also paid in full by her." Iris was shocked to hear that.
"Eva pay for all of us? Seriously? There are over twenty of us." Iris said in a tone of amazement and disbelief. How rich is Eva? But Shane burst out laughing instead.
"To be more precise, this vacation uses our cash. I would be bankrupt if I paid for all of us." Eva replied from behind her. She shook her head regret for trusting Shane.
Even though she already knew that Shane loved to tease her and she was still caught in her trap. She then sat away from Shane in annoyance and stuffed her ears with earphones.
But suddenly a message came on her cell phone.
'Keep my number.'
In the next second, Iris stared at the screen of her cellphone in shock. A string of words arranged there was written with the name 'Jonathan'.
"Since when do you have a cell phone?" She murmured immediately, typed the question, and then sent it to Jonathan. It didn't take long for the message to be answered.
'Recently.'
Iris managed to squeeze her forehead while laughing blandly as she read Jonathan's reply.
"He bought a cell phone… right?"
