Chapter 13: Chapter 13
Iris and the hairstylist immediately screamed at the same time. Who's her ex-boyfriend? He loves to say weird things. She immediately let her hand from his hand and tried to explain to the hairstylist so as not to misunderstand.
“I wanted to change my hairstyle and color because I thought it was too flashy. Can you make it a little more natural?” Iris started negotiating. The hairstylist with a name tag named Wanda nodded and smiled a little, trying to calm down.
“Please have a seat and choose the hairstyle you want from our catalog.”
Iris thought Jonathan was going to ignore her and was stuck in his thoughts in the waiting chair. But in reality, he was standing beside her looking through the catalog she had just snatched from her hand.
"Excuse me? Let me choose for myself.” Iris tried to snatch the catalog from his hands. But he dodged nimbly and walked over to Wanda.
"I want you to change it with this style and this color." He said and ignored her completely. She like a useless pile of stone there.
Wanda nodded her head while touching her chin. “You have good taste too. The shape of her face will also look suitable if she wears this style. Good choice." She praised the greatness of Jonathan.
As you know, Jonathan has lived for more than tens of thousands of years and pretty much imitates human faces and appearances. Of course, he would easily find a style that suited Iris.
Wanda immediately did her job professionally. Starting from bleaching hair to the coloring process, there are lots of steps. Then start cutting and changing her hairstyle.
"Is he your new boyfriend?" Wanda asked in between cutting her hair. She snorted harshly and turned the pages of the magazine she was reading roughly.
"He's not human, he's a demon. The most annoying demon I've ever known." She said harshly while groaning in annoyance. Wanda chuckled.
“You're lucky because he's quite handsome. The customer next to you gave me a code to secretly ask for your lover's mobile number." Again, Wanda whispered carefully for fear of the customers next to her overhearing their conversation.
Iris immediately glared sharply. What did she say? The blonde woman asked for Jonathan's cell number? If she wants to die fast then go ahead. Iris wouldn't get in the way of it at all.
'You heard that? You've already attracted some customers here. Not interested in being an artist with that handsome face of yours?' Iris spoke to herself while looking at Jonathan from the mirror in front of her.
Jonathan gave a small snort and fiddled with his cell phone. Not interested in women's talk, he hoped Wanda would finish her work soon so they could get out of there as soon as possible.
After almost three hours of sitting in front of the mirror, Wanda finally finished her work. She smiled with satisfaction when she saw the results of her work.
Iris now has straight light gray hair along her back. She no longer has the wacky wavy bangs that became her trademark. Her straight hair looked dazzling and made others envious of her beauty.
"So? After this, what should I do next?” she asked Jonathan as they stood on the edge of the bridge and watched the rushing traffic.
Jonathan was expressionless, and Iris knew that. But she slowly seemed to be able to read a little of his expression. She saw Jonathan staring at her like he didn't have the heart to do something.
“A week from now, train hard. Your organization has a variety of unique weapons that can kill demons. After a week has passed, I will see you again and test you. Are you worthy or not to hunt demons.” He said while approaching her.
"I know." Iris nodded once with a serious expression.
Jonathan touched his index finger to Iris' chest. More precisely in the scar that extends across her chest. Iris immediately felt the heat as the fingernails pointed and slashed her skin again.
"Go home carefully."
And he disappeared from his sight just like the wind that hit her face. She looked here and there to look for his figure who was gone.
"You too." She mumbled then walked away.
The next day, like what Jonathan said, she was introduced to a variety of weapons used to paralyze and kill demons. Allan, who had just arrived, immediately trained her hard like military training.
She was helpless. But time passed and she became used to all these disciplined activities.
“This is a weapon commonly used by hunters. This homemade gun can help you to attack. You can fill the tip of this bullet with your blood before you put gunpowder in it.” Allan said, directing the bullet casing, complete with his gun, in front of her.
Iris just looked at that gun because she was quite traumatized by the gun. Her eyes turned to a knife that was quite strange in shape.
"What's with this knife?" She took the knife and noticed a small tube in the middle of the iron blade.
“You can fill that little tube with your blood. If you stab the demon's chest with that knife, the thin tube will burst and the blood can flow straight into its heart. Allan said again, explaining. She immediately admired the prowess of the knife.
Her eyes scanned the available weapons on the table one by one. Because she had to choose a weapon that was comfortable to use.
"I think a gun is a must I have. I'll take this knife too." She said and was immediately noted by Allan.
He watched her for a while before he walked out of the room to talk to Eva who was watching their training process from outside.
"How is it progressing?" Ask Eva directly. Allan shook his head in disbelief.
“I still have my doubts. She was quick to learn things, but she lacked emotion. This is the first time I've trained a hunter who doesn't hold a grudge like her." Allan said as it is.
Eva looked back at her back from outside the room. She couldn't believe that she had hoped on her little back.
"Don't give up hope, Allan. I'm sure he'll bring something big to our cause." Eva said confidently. Allan nodded and touched her shoulder firmly with a sad expression.
“Miles' sacrifices won't be in vain, Eva.”
Time passes so quickly. As with her agreement with Jonathan, she trains hard, and then she is given a hard test because she fights head-on with Jonathan.
A year has passed, and Iris is now able to match her battle with Jonathan. Her body that used to look small and thin is now starting to contain and a little muscular. Her innocent expression was no longer visible.
Even now Iris often performs deadly moves that she improvised herself after a year of training to fight with the hunters.
"Left. Twisted kick. Good… balance it.” Jonathan gave a signal to her.
Iris was panting and sweating as she fought hard with Jonathan. Because Jonathan can move fast, of course, she will be very tired when fighting fast. Whereas Jonathan didn't sweat a bit and just dodged her every move.
"Enough."
"Hah hah hahh..."
Jonathan passed a bottle of drink to her, who was panting while catching her breath. Iris thanked her and downed the water till completely.
"You're ready, Ana. Tomorrow, meet Eva and come with her to hunt demons.”
