Chapter 55: Chapter 55
Aviena's POV
I didn't even fall asleep last night with so much thinking. So the next morning, I woke up to find Camillia no longer with me. I immediately felt nervousness and fear in me.
"Camillia?" I called her name while looking for her.
It wasn’t just the first time I woke up nervous because my daughter wasn’t there. Even more, now that we are here in the Philippines.
"Camillia!" I shouted while barefoot.
I was about to run out of the room when I hit a wall or should I say River? I can see River frowning at me now.
"Our daughter is now in the kitchen," he told me. River was just looking at me. I let out only a sigh especially when I saw he still look mad at me.
I didn't bother changing my clothes, I can only breathe easily if I saw my child now.
I immediately saw Camillia standing on the side while watching her Grandma cook. She almost got up from her chair to see what she was cooking.
"Mom!" Camillia shouted and even smiled at me. Only then did I realize that her Grandmother, River's Mommy, was here.
“Grandma is here! Papa introduced me to Grandma!” Camillia said while smiling at me. Mrs. Savellano looked at me while raising her eyebrow. I can still see her looking at my dress. I was wearing a stitch pajama and still barefoot. I was a little embarrassed by the way she looks.
I smiled slightly at Camillia before ruffling her hair. I approached Auntie to greet and bless. She couldn't help but accept that because Camillia was looking at us and she looked so happy even though she just woke up.
"Good morning po," I said.
"What's good in the morning if I see you today?" she asked me coldly but only in a whisper. She even tried to smile at me just so Camillia wouldn't see so I just bit my lip so hard. I know her blood has been hot on me ever since but she still looks like that now.
"What are you doing, Mom?" I almost jumped in panic when I heard River's voice. I just bit my lip so hard when I saw him now. I just averted my eyes from him as well.
"I'll change my clothes first, My Love," I whispered to Camillia who looked at me as I stood up.
“I’ll come with you too, Mama. I'll change my clothes too. Papa said that we're going to visit different places today!” Camillia's excitedly said so I couldn't help but look at River. I also prepared myself that River will not really go away from Camillia this week so I also thought of giving them a chance to get to know each other. I'll just visit my family maybe today. I will just take the Camillia to Baguio next time.
When I looked at River, I was a little surprised to see the small smile on his lips but when he saw me looking, it gradually disappeared before he looked at me coldly again. I just looked away from him.
“You could eat first before changing clothes,” Auntie said to us. That's what we did. I didn't argue anymore because it was okay with me. Some maids are looking at me or should I say us. It was as if they were wondering about River too.
Auntie was asking different questions to Camillia who was enjoying answering it too. It seems like Ocean also told Auntie that we're here. It took a long time for that one to tell her family that she had a niece in River.
Ocean and Auntie have the same habits so I gradually relaxed as well. Even when I was pregnant with Camillia, Ocean was able to be irritated with me. It’s no longer surprising now because I already know who she actually inherited that from.
After we ate, Auntie also left immediately because it looks like she just couldn't bear to peek here at home.
I also took Camillia to the room when we finished eating, even River followed because they were busy talking to each other.
"We'll really visit your private island, Papa?" Camillia asked River.
"Yes, we will try banana boating too once we go there." My daughter almost jumped for joy.
I just smiled as I watched them.
I let her bath with me. Then I just dressed her in a white summer dress. I also just wear comfy clothes because I just plan to stay at home.
“Don't give Papa a headache, okay? Just behave, My Love,” I said, smiling at Camillia who immediately look at me.
"You won't come with us, Mama?"
“Mama will visit someone for a while. You can bond with Papa first,” I said.
“Where are you going? You’ll come with us too,” River said. He was just in the bathroom earlier but seems like he was done now. He was now leaning beside me. He's looking for some clothes here in his walking closet. Before I could get away from him, he locked me up. He's already looking for some clothes. I could immediately smell the fragrant scent from him. My heartbeat seemed to stop there. I couldn't help but keep quiet because he also couldn't push. I feel like I will burn if I touch his body. It was as if a prisoner wanted to get out of jail, especially when he looked back at me.
"Where are you going?" he asked further with a cold voice and raised an eyebrow at me now.
"I just thought that you'd like to spend your time together alone…" I weakly said.
"That's not my question at all." His eyes were also cold as he looked at me. I can't stop being pouty.
“I thought I'll just visit my family for a while… Hmm… so you two can bond—”
"We'll visit your family then… We'll take our daughter for a ride," he said so Camillia applauded. I was immediately taken aback when I realized that Camillia was watching us. I left his embrace before facing Camillia who was also pleased with her father's decision.
"Wait, are you getting angry at Mama, Papa?" Camillia asked with her eyes still narrowed when she realized the setup earlier.
"That's how Mama looks at me when I punch John," she said so I almost choked on my own saliva.
“No, he’s not, Camillia. That's just what your father always looks like… ” I just said so Camillia's eyes just narrowed as if she didn't believe it either. I couldn't help but laugh and just shake my head.
“Where would you like to go?” I change the subject because she won't stop asking questions there.
“Papa said that both of you visited Cebu years ago, Mama… And I'd like to visit Siargao too! The one Auntie Ocean talking about. ” I nodded and smiled at her.
"But we'll visit Baguio first, right, Mama?" she asked so I just nodded.
She excitedly brought some of his belongings there. She's also excited to see some of her Aunties. It's been a while since I saw them too. I knew right away that they would all be upset with me. I am aware that I always take everything on my own so my Aunties and especially Grandma will probably scold me.
Camillia was the first to walk because she knew there was a lot of gift that were for my family. She also didn't ask for a piggyback ride with her father because she planned to make the most of it later.
“What is she talking about? Did she punch someone? Did the guy scratch her? What’s the guy's name?” River asked me as we went down. I was silenced there.
“She’s at fault. The guy didn't punch her or anything but he really annoyed her. She punched him in the face… It happened recently… I already give her an earful sermon,” I said so River pouted. Also know to whom the child inherited that.
“Mom! Will Auntie Ruby be there too?” Camillia asked me. I nodded to her and smiled.
"I'm so excited to see her!" I just smiled as he followed her. We went home as planned.
There are so many things we also brought for them.
We were supposed to ride River's chopper but because Camillia wants to ride a car instead, River also did nothing but give in to the child.
“We still have a lot of time to spend together, right? I want our ride to be longer… ” Camillia said so I smiled slightly. It looks like she just really wants to spend more time with her dad. When I watch her, I can't help but feel sad because it looks like she really likes her Papa but I choose not to let them meet.
When we were in the car, there were only three of us inside. River doesn't ask for a driver anymore.
“Are you sure it's fine with you? You'll get tired of driving,” I couldn't help but say as I entered. Camillia pulled me into the shotgun seat just for her to sit between the two of us.
“It’s fine. I'm completely fine with it,” he said so I just sighed before nodding.
While we were on the trip, River also played a song accompanied by Camillia. Seems like they're the same taste in music too.
I just smiled before facing my laptop. I'm on leave right now but I just can't seem to focus when I'm not doing anything anymore, especially since we still have a project that we'll be needing to complete. I was just working on my laptop while River and Camillia were talking. I just smiled as I listened to their conversation and once again Camillia pulled the hem of my dress to ask me a question. River was asking random and the most little details about my daughter's life.
"Who's your best friend in school?" he asked Camillia so I just smiled when she think about it.
“Hmm, I think it’s Cloe? Or is it Olive, Mom? ” Camillia even turned to me to ask.
"Who's my best friend among those two, Mama?" she asked more so I couldn't help but laugh.
“Hmm, you’re the only one who can answer that. Who do you trust the most among the two of them? Who do you share things with the most? Or they can be both your bestie. You don't have to choose between them if you really like them both,” I said. She was just looking at me before facing her Dad with a smile on her face now.
"Cloe and Olive are my besties, Papa." Camillia nodded there.
"What about your favorite uncle?" River asked. What a random question.
“Hmm, Godfather Levi and Godfather Tom are also my uncles, right, Mama? Who do you like the most between them?” Camillia asked me so I just laughed. She really asks the most random things too.
“Hmm. I like them both and you're supposed to answer that… not Mama.” I laughed and messed up Camillia's hair.
Gradually the smile faded from my lips when the car we were riding in stopped and I met River's blue tears. He wasn't smiling or anything right now.
I just kept quiet and averted my eyes.
You're in danger again, Aviena.
