Chapter 78: Chapter 78
“Too sugary!” Audrey freaked out as she dropped the cup of tea on the table with her hands folded.
Rosanne puckered her eyebrows. “Too sugary? I thought you said you wanted enough sugar?”
“Are you dumb, Miss Flirt? When I told you I wanted sugar in my tea, I never said you should put too much of it. You know what, I think you are not ready for this job.” Audrey rolled her eyes.
Clenching her fist, Rosanne forced a smile at her. Deep down, she wanted to punch the little girl hard on the cheek. Oh, but she wouldn't dare if she still values her life. “Fine! I'll go make another cup for you.”
“Good! I just want a milky cup of tea. It's quite unfortunate that you can do that.” She snorted.
Reluctantly, Rosanne walked out of the room, mumbling in annoyance, while Audrey giggled in satisfaction and thought within herself.
“Since she has refused to leave this house, and daddy has also pleaded with me to accommodate her, I'm going to make her get tired and decide to leave on her own.”
Rosanne walked into the kitchen, and dropped the saucer on the sink, fuming in annoyance.
She spoke in between her teeth. “That little, which will stop at nothing to make my life miserable. This is the third time I'm coming here to make a cup of tea for her. It's either she says it is sugary or that it is too hot or that it is too cold.”
Unwillingly, she stirred the cup of tea and added enough milk to it. “I hope she doesn't make me go downstairs again.”
With that, she walked out of the kitchen, straight to Audrey's room.
“Too milky! Don't you know how to make things moderate?” Audrey cried out.
“What?” Rosanne sighed sadly.
Audrey feigned sadness too, and sniffed hard. “I can't believe you, Miss Flirt. You're not in any way prepared for this job. If it was Miss old-fashioned, I'm sure she knows exactly how to make tea right”.
Rosanne tiredly walked out of the room, and Audrey burst into laughter. She finally succeeded in making life difficult for Rosanne.
“Hey! Are you making tea for the entire country? You've been preparing tea for God knows how long.” Anastasia, who was cooking, asked her anxiously.
Rosanne sighed. “Do you know who Miss old-fashioned is? How does she look?”
Anastasia's countenance changed, and she rolled her eyes. “There's nothing special about her. Why do you ask?”
“Audrey seems to love her very much, and that's becoming so annoying. She despises every effort I make to satisfy her.”
With that, Anastasia scoffed. “I don't think you should keep wasting your time pleasing her. Why don't you just teach her a lesson that she will never forget, rushing?”
“A lesson? Won't that get the President infuriated? She's his beloved daughter, and I would rather not leave the mansion yet.” Rosanne shook her head.
Lowering her voice, Anastasia whispered into her ear. “Are you dumb? Don't you want to get back as back at that annoying little witch? I'm sure you want to.”
“What do you suggest I do?” Rosanne asked as Anastasia whispered some inaudible words into her ears, and they chuckled.
On the other hand, Nicole refilled his glass of some gin, and gulped it down as though it were water. He laughed with sadness written all over him. He went to the bar immediately, Valerie turned him down. Probably, he thought that drinking was the only way for him to forget his sorrows.
“What more am I living for? I've always cherished Valerie, and I wanted to settle down with her, and now this?” He continued lamenting.
“Get a hold of yourself, Nick. Valerie is not the only girl in the world, besides she turned you down, which means she doesn't have feelings for you.” Gabby tapped his shoulder.
Nicole snorted. “Do you know how long I've been waiting to confess my feelings to her? I've loved her for the past five years, and it was heavy on me because I didn't tell her how I felt.”
“It is not the end of the world. Besides, you caught her surprised. I think she was just stunned. I advise you to give us some time, she'll definitely come around.” Gabby replied.
“What if she doesn't come around, Gabby? What if she doesn't have feelings for me? What if she sees me as a brother?” Nicole continued drinking. His cell phone rang aloud, and he picked it up from the table. Staring at the phone's screen, it was Valerie calling. He had left the house two hours ago, and it was already late.
Nicole sighed in disappointment, and dropped the phone. Gabby narrowed his eyes in surprise. “Why did you ignore the call? What if she's calling to tell you that she has accepted?”
“That's not possible. I'm not in my right state of mind.” Nicole mumbled.
At the Davison's villa, Audrey and President Ethan were seated at the table for dinner. Rosanne passed Audrey's food to her.
President Ethan started eating, and Audrey opened her plate. The aroma went directly into her nose, and she sneezed.
She continued sneezing as her father rushed to her. “Baby, are you okay?”
“FI… fish in the food” Audrey gasped for breath.
Ethan turned to Rosanne. “This food wasn't cooked with fish. How did fish get into the food?”
“I… I don't know, Sir” She lied.
Audrey continued gasping, and Ethan picked the plate up and sniffed the food. “Fish powder? Who dares to cook with fish powder, knowing that Audrey is allergic to fish?”
