Chapter 77: Chapter 77
“Flirting with your daddy?” Rosanne widened her eyes, confused.
Audrey scoffed, and turned her gaze away. “I can't believe you. You are barely 24 hours old in the mansion, and you are really flirting with my daddy. What makes you think I want a nanny like you?”
Rosanne smiled a little. “Audrey, you don't have to make things difficult for me. I'm trying my best to make sure that you are going to like me and…”
“Never! I will never like you.” Audrey snapped at her.
Likewise, Rosanne needed no one to tell her that getting along with Audrey will be very difficult for her. What does Audrey mean by she can't flirt with her daddy?
“With how smoky hot her daddy is, who wouldn't want to flirt with him? Her nanny is really weird. How was she able to resist such a sexy man like President Ethan?”
Audrey raised her brows. “If you want me to consider getting along with you, stop drooling over my daddy. Why can't you focus on your job and stop being a busybody?”
“You…”
“I should go to bed before 8 p.m. I'm sure you know what that means, I can't walk unaided, which means you have to carry me to the bathroom.” Audrey smirked mischievously at her as she walked away, glaring hard at her.
Staring at Rosanne alone irritated Audrey up so much. She just wished that Valerie would come back to the mansion. How would she survive with Miss Flirt when her sight irritates her?
Audrey was still lost in thought when she heard a gentle knock on her door.
“Come in, please.” Audrey said.
The door creaked open, and Audrey sighted her Dad. He had a saucer with a tea cup, the tea was piping hot. Seeing him, Audrey quickly turned her back to him.
“Audrey, dear. I know you're not happy with me, and you don't like the new nanny.” He started, sitting on the edge of the bed, and dropping the saucer on the table beside Audrey's bed.
The sad little girl only sighed. She was missing Valerie so much. Ever since Valerie came into the mansion, she got so attached to her that not seeing her made her feel sick.
“Baby, are you listening?”
With that, Audrey exhaled deeply. “I don't like Miss Flirt.”
“Miss Flirt? Who is Miss Flirt?” Ethan twitched his brows.
Heaving a sigh, Audrey replied. “Rosanne, the new nanny.”
“Why would you call her Miss Flirt? You just met her, and you already called her that?” President Ethan snorted.
“That's because she was obviously flirting with you downstairs, Dad.” Audrey cried out.
President Ethan choked. He puckered his brows in shock. “What? Flirting with me?”
“Yes, dad. I don't want her because she's just drooling over you. That's absurd! Miss old-fashioned has never done that before, and it's partly why I love her so much.”
Ethan's countenance changed. Even though he couldn't explain, he suddenly felt bad. “You think so? Your Miss old-fashioned never admired me?”
“Yes.”
“Does that mean that I'm not handsome enough?” Ethan was unable to stop himself from making that statement, no matter how hard he tried.
Audrey gulped hard. “Why are you feeling bad, Daddy? Do you wish Miss old-fashioned admires you?”
“Drink up your tea, Audrey. You would rather not drink cold tea, do you?” Ethan quickly changed the topic.
Without hesitation, Audrey quickly picked the cup of tea and sipped slowly. Ethan, on the other hand, didn't stop thinking about what his daughter had said. Is he so bad that Valerie doesn't fancy him at all? Then, he thought of her and Nicole. He became green with jealousy.
“After taking your bath, you should go to bed early, baby. Good night.” He kissed her cheek, and she nodded before he walked out of the room.
Meanwhile, Nicole walked into the jewelry store with a smile all over his face.
“Good day, Sir. How may I help you?” The receptionist asked, smacking him out of his daydream.
Nicole cleared his throat noisily. “I want the best diamond anklet.”
“Over at the other counter, Sir.” She replied.
After purchasing the diamond anklet, Nicole walked out of the store and quickly got into his car and drove off. Today was going to be the most special day of his life. He would ask Valerie to become his girlfriend.
A few minutes later, he drove into his apartment. Valerie had the door opened for him, and he walked in, wearing a smile on his face. Confused, Valerie raised her brow and asked. “Nick, are you okay? You've been grinning from ear-to-ear, what's the good news?”
They sat heavily on the couch in the sitting room. Nicole turned to Valerie, staring deeply into her eyes. His heart raced faster. He prayed within him that she wouldn't turn him down.
Valerie tapped him gently. “Are you okay?”
Nicole quickly held her hands, leaving her in a confused state. “Val, I have something to tell you.”
“What's the matter, Nick? Did anything bad happen?” Valerie gasped.
Nicole brought the box of jewelry and gave it to Valerie, who reluctantly took it.
“A gift, again? This is so expensive. You don't have to spend this much on me, Nicole.” Valerie gasped in excitement.
“I… I love you.”
Valerie flinched and dropped the jewelry box immediately. “What?”
“This might sound strange to you, but I've really fallen in love with you. I was waiting for the perfect time to tell you this. I love you, Valerie. Please accept my love for you.” Nicole continued.
“I… I can't.” Valerie quickly sprang up and rushed off.
